Leave the World Behind (2023)
Leave this movie behind.
I was really excited for this movie, it seemed like a good thrilling watch, but it was all but that. This movie was just one mess. It was just confusing and things didn't make sense at all. The storyline was interesting tho, that's the only reason why I wanted to finish the movie else I would've quit right on the spot. Sadly, the movie was just half done. They worked their way towards nothing. The ending was just left open and once Rosie got to watch the last friends episode in the bunker it cut to black screen. Is this what I was spending 2,5 hours for? No I did not, it was such a waste of time, nothing was clear about what was happening and why it was happening. I really wanted to know what the cause was instead of just theories from George. Also wanted to know more about the animals. But, even if there would be like a sequel or anything, I wouldn't even be bothered to watch it.
Apart from that, I did like the actors. The acting was pretty well done, such a waste for them aswell.
I would not recommend this movie if you want to be left with disappointment. Leave this movie behind for the most time-wasting movie award.
Keunalui bonwigi (2016)
Went downhills throughout the movie. Wasted potential.
This movie seemed pretty fun in the trailer and I could't wait to watch it. In the beginning it was funny and seemed promising, but it went downhills throughout the movie. It became plain and it wasn't really what I expected it to be. It wasn't bad, but not worth more than 6 stars. I feel like it was such a waste especially for the actors because the story just needed something to spice it up. The actors on the other hand were amazing, they deffo had chemistry and their acting was great but I would have loved to see them in a different drama or movie with a better storyline.
I'm not saying I don't recommend it because some might like it, but don't expect too much of this. This was more a time killer for me.
Nimona (2023)
Nimona, an inclusive movie with a medieval/cyberpunk vibe full of emotion.
Nimona was an amazing movie. From design to animation. The character designs were so good, I loved Bal his design a lot. Nimona could've been designed with more details?, she was good-looking, but she was definetly missing something. I do like the fact they made her have her "monster" traits like her teeth. The movie on the other hand was unexpectedly good, because I was expecting an "Hero-saves-the-day" type of movie. It's not, it's much more than that, it's deeper and more emotional. The characters portrayed their feelings and emotions so well, from happy to sad, from angry to dissapointed. It was all there, I haven't felt this good about a movie in quite some time.
However, there are some things that are not as good or not as well done as I expected, when watching the movie. The ending. When going towards the end, it was beautiful yet confusing. There was a timeskip, not too big, but they left out something I questioned a lot; "What's behind the wall?" It was very unclear what was behind it expect land and why the wall was placed apart from the oh-so-big monster. Infact, we only get to see 1 monster and when they mentioned that there were more, but once Nimona was 'dead', everything was fine and they kept the wall open? Maybe I'm overthinking, but it was something that was stuck on my mind. Also I feel like Nimona 'coming back' was random, cause there was indeed a timeskip but she came back after a while? Where has she been? If she didn't die then what happend? I need more, not only because I feel like it was also rushed but also because I feel like the story needs more background. I'm really getting into it and absolutely adore this movie.
