I stumbled upon "The Sexbots Are Coming" on Tubi. I was just looking for something fairly short to watch before bed. The concept of a robot doll that can carry on an everyday conversation is interesting.
Besides showing us the warehouse that these folks are being created and the people who are working on the project, we also get a glimpse into doll enthusiast James. James has multiple dolls in his home, with April being his favorite. Apparently his wife was away taking care of a family member and James felt lonely. He bought dolls to keep him company. It's sad that a married man such as James seems more into these dolls than his wife. I feel bad for her.
James also gets to be the first person to interact with Holly outside of her creators. The technology is neat, but I don't understand why someone would choose to have a "doll" over real human interaction.
This interesting in it's own way, but not something that I would watch again.
