Wrecker (2016)
MOVIES and ACTING DON'T GET MUCH WORSE THAN THIS GARBAGE
I had a horrible time trying to watch this garbage. I kept fast forwarding to find something that would grab my attention. Actresses crying without tears. Apparently these two chicks were close to 30 in reality, but dressed like hookers and desperately trying to be 20. Look, don't waste your time. Go watch "Duel" with Dennis Weaver from back when. At least that was suspenseful. The people that made this flick need to be arrested, and the actors never allowed on any set, ever again.
The Farmer (1977)
SEEN WHILE in JAPAN with the U.S. NAVY in 1977 or 78
I saw The Farmer (Aka "Blazing Revenge") at a theater in Tokyo, Japan with my Japanese girlfriend back then. I was stationed at NAF Atsugi. The movie was great. I remember the beginning of the movie with the returning WWII hero (Kiel Martin) on a train. There was a black soldier who was being given a hard time over a drink because of his race. Kiel Marin stepped in, big fight, etc....from that point you knew he was an honorable, courageous and no nonsense kind of guy. After they take his land, burn his house, attack his girlfriend, killed his friend...it is time to go kick some ass. And he does big time. I have searched high and low for this movie the better part of 30 years. Still searching. I imagine if I got to see it today...it would possibly appear corny by today's standards for revenge flicks. Not sure, but maybe I am better off with the memories. Lastly, the star, Mr. Gary Conway is still going strong at 80 plus and owns a winery in CA. Why this movie is locked away is beyond me.
The Bushido Blade (1981)
PLAYED AN EXTRA (Marine Sentry) in THIS FLICK
Hey, who is "An Insider's View?" Author: honcho13-503-865907 from United States 2 June 2014
Contact me - Mark Hobart. Maybe we know each other. I was stationed at Atsugi 1974-79.
Likewise, I played an extra in this movie in 1978. We filmed in Tokyo at a Shrine and at a sound stage in Tokyo. There was a replica of a ship. Richard Boone (Commodore Perry) was a total grouch and very dictatorial towards the director. I recall on the sound stage, he kept messing his lines up and then suddenly started YELLING that he wanted everybody out except those in the scene and the director. I mean, he lost it. By this time, the guy was pretty old and looked even worse. Anyhow, we were there 4 days if I recall. And like the other reviewer wrote, we got about %40 a day and stayed at the Sanno Hotel which at that time was located in Akasaka. Now the Sanno is in Hiroo. The scenes in Japan were in 78, but the movie had a release delay. It was a terrible movie. The production company was "Rankin Bass" and they went bankrupt a few years later. Ironically, I am now living in Japan and do quite a bot of work in TC commercials and other media. I recently starred as Sir Thomas Lipton for Lipton Tea Japan. Two weeks shooting in Darjeeling, India. Here is the link to the varied versions. The 15 and 30 seconds versions were for TV the longer two for various promotions and tea fairs around Japan.
