Chennai Express (2013)
Chennai express
. From the start the movie tries to merge the culture of north India and south India which resulted some romantic and creative moments in the movie which also generated good chemistry between the main actor and actress. Cinematography and art direction in this movie really captured the different cultures of south India and north India. Magnificent sets and music numbers added the well needed color to the movie. Chennai Express is a movie which is a fun and entertaining movie but it's no way near a thinking movie. The movie tries to give out a message pointing out how Indian woman lack freedom that message is lost through the comedy of the movie. For a person who is tired of watching movies with serious plot twists this movie is a well deserve break. But if a person tries to logically evaluate this movie then that person will fail miserably.
Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood (2019)
Tarantino best
The performances are flawless. I was apprehensive about how the events of August 8, 1969 would be handled. But that is handled tastefully and respectfully, yet with the classic Tarantino flair.
Will be quite a bit for those under 40 who have no recollection of this Hollywood. Some will categorise this as an over indulgent nostalgia trip for movie geeks. And they are likely to be correct. But for those of us who complain that Hollywood is reduced to remakes and comic book films, QT delivers a unique and creative viewing experience.tarantino nailed the story his actions sequence or unmatchable.
The Killer (2023)
Killer
Was really looking forward to this movie as i like Michael Fassbender and David Fincher and they never showed it at any cinemas near me during its limited release. Maybe i've just built it up too much in my head but i can't help but be disappointed in it.
It has alot of cool style and it as dark as you'd expect from Fincher. Who as you'd imagine, does a good job of directing. But its a very straightforward story and i couldn't help but say "Would a professional hitman really do that?" at certain points of it.
The constant commentary of the movie is so elegant so amazing just a wow stylish...
Tiger 3 (2023)
Tiger 3
Salman khan did the same monotonous low pitch voice in all his recent movies. Which is unbearable, annoying. No voice modulations, emotions and variations.. He probably tries to imitate Bobby deol silent action hero type acting. Like Soldier, Bichhoo, Gupt.. But Bobby Deol's low pitch voice is not annoying at all, it is soothing, while Salman's voice seems like he has flu and sore throat since a month.
The acting of all the actors was decent. Story was forgettable, screenplay was similar to the previous versions, nothing catchy. Overall a linear action drama. And another repetitive thing in the movie was the introduction Background music, especially Emraan.
The Family Man (2019)
The family man
First of all I am happy with the fact that now people atleast know secret agents are not like Salman Khan's character Tiger (from Ek Tha Tiger , Tiger Zinda Hai), Secret agents are not commandos who can beat a bulk of villain singlehandedly, so you can say the level of Indian Series is going up.
Now talking about this series, I liked the concept, I liked the over all story, acting. Remember one thing this series is about a family man who also works for a secret team whose main task is... Okay I am not goning to give spoilers. Directors did really well in that part , the balance of life between work and a very normal family with two cute kids.
Sanju (2018)
Sanju
Ranbir Kapoor as Sanjay Dutt was absolutely superb! All the hardwork he's done behind the role is clearly visible on screen and the output is amazing ! The movie is based on real life events of sanju and is beautifully carved into an interesting, and wonderful story of a man and his struggles throughout life. How he pulled himself out of hell with the help of his great father Sunil Dutt. He also had the services of a loyal friend and Vicky Kaushal has done great work playing that part. Can't say for sure if the facts shown in the movie are 100% true but yes the movie as it is, is really wonderful to.
Loki (2021)
Loki
Season 2 - Epic
I held off on this until the final episode. The series started brilliantly, and they packed an enormous amount into each episode - but as it became more complicated I became a little apprehensive about how it would all finish up - I shouldn't have been, they smashed it out of the park.
Episode 6 is one of the best episodes of TV I've ever watched - but that sounds redundant, because the standard is so high all round that it's top shelf movie quality production all the way. Season 2 - Epic
I held good fantasy good Episode 6 is one of the best episodes of TV I've ever watched - but that sounds redundant, because the standard is so high all round that it's top shelf movie quality production all.
The Hungry (2017)
The hungry
The Hungry is well paced revenge drama that is based on a tragic play by Shakespeare. I hadn't heard or read about that play before watching this movie but the screenplay and characterization certainly was influenced by the fact that it was adapted from a play. It is a dark movie that brings out the selfish side of all the characters and the meaner a person, the longer it stays alive to witness the horrors unfold. The story is well set in two business families of Delhi and Naseeruddin Shah plays the role of Tathagath, the patriarch who wants to own up the whole business, by marrying off awesome.
The Sky Is Pink (2019)
The sky is pink
This is a serious movie with powerful message and outstanding performance by Priyanka and Farhan ...This movie can make you smile and cry at the same time!! Such a heartbreaking yet warm film. The Sky Is Pink is a film that understands and breaks down the specifics of grief, unravels the lingering agony of trauma and argues that the fragility of life is precisely what makes it so precious.. A must watch movie.!This is a serious movie with powerful message and outstanding performance by Priyanka and Farhan ...This movie can make you smile and cry at the same time!! Such a heartbreaking so amazing.
Life of Pi (2012)
Life of pi
But if Pi is a good character, Richard Parker can only be describe as unique. The tiger as personality of it's own. Not many films can make an animal with so many human features and yet never stop being a wild animal. This tiger is computed animated but the audience will barely notice, because the way it walks, eats, its factions, the eyes. It doesn't matter if it is computer animation, Richard Parker is alive and is his own character just as important as Pi is.
If you think that "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" have good animal effects, you have to see how this people make a zebra, wow movie.
Parched (2015)
Parched
PARCHED takes an unapologetic stance that women should choose their own destinies. The four women, and their intersecting stories, are engaging and intriguing. And there are both good and bad male figures in their lives. But this is no feel-good Bollywood romcom either, it's a very real and heartfelt look at life. The film keeps the viewer on the edge of his or her seat, wondering where the story is going next, because the twists in the plot are far from predictable. I would highly recommend it to anyone with a taste for edgy and eye-opening cinema. My rating? 10 out of 10. Marvellous movie ..
Only Murders in the Building (2021)
Only murders in the building
Was actually surprised by how much I liked Only Murders in the Building. There's a reason that both seasons have been nominated and won so many awards. The cast (Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, Martin Short) and writing is what makes this show so special. Martin and Short play off one another like the legends they are and Gomez is a lot better actress than I expected. The three of them are just so likable and easy to root for in this series. This show was so good and every episode is so entertaining that I binged both seasons over the course of a weekend. It's a murder mystery show that have been.
Devdas (2002)
Devdas
But as far as this Devdas goes, I can say that it is really difficult to transform such an old and popular story into such an amazing film without being boring, and the director has successfully managed this task.
The set decorators, choreographers and the costume designers must be lauded very very highly. It is truly amazing and a real pleasure to just even observe these three elements. Of course, Aishwarya Rai (Parvati) is so incredibly beautiful, the camera loves her, and she sparkles like a diamond. Still, (also credited above Aishwarya) Madhuri Dixit (Chandramukhi) outstanding performance.
Fanaa (2006)
Fanaa
Fanaa" is an incredibly frustrating film to watch. The first half is magnificent--very romantic and very enjoyable. The second half, though not bad, was so incredibly different in tempo and style that it really did not fit together with the first half. In fact, I almost wish the movie had just ended in the middle!
When the story begins, Zooni (Kajol) is going on a trip to Delhi with some friends. Her parents are worried...after all, she is blind. But they also know they need to let her grow and experience the world, so they reluctantly send her. Soon after arriving, the group of you #awsummovie.
Dhoom:2 (2006)
Dhoom 2
Bollywood
This movie is a milestone in Hindi Cinema. It shows that Bollywood can match Hollywood in terms of churning out vacuous yet big budget action flicks. Nevertheless, while for now the audience may be divided as to cheering or jeering it, in years to come it will be celebrated in the "So Bad, it's Good" category, with an inane script and dialogue that draws out uninvited laughter. The only way to be entertained by it is to make fun of it to entertain yourself.
But the stars have made the most of it and look their glamorous best here. Hrithik Roshan's charisma and looks carry the movie .
Kaabil (2017)
Kaabil
Revenge is a dish best served blind is the message Kaabil gives. Inspired from Hollywood's Blind Fury (1989) with Rutger Hauer in the lead and even borrowing shades of the Korean super hit, Broken (2014), Sanjay Gupta gives you a Bollywood adaptation that is entertaining and effective. This movie will make u cry and rip your heart out of your body! Yes ,Hrithik is that good! This revenge saga gets interesting and thrilling before the interval.... The first half comprises of Hrithik-Yami love story but suddenly a tragedy struck and nothing will stop Hrithik to have his revenge....blockbuster movie.
Aashiqui 2 (2013)
Aashiqui 2
Truly Aashiqui 2. The film is targeted at the youth. It will leave your eyes wet and your throats dry. Amazing chemistry and performance. Must watch.8/10
Mohit Suri tunes the first half slowly, allowing the romance to simmer in torment and triumph. Aarohi's character is endearing, but displays innate strength. Rahul stays pretty much 'bottled' (like 'Devdas' with a cause), with sudden outbursts of frustration and fury. Story is a 'fix' for die-hard lovers.
Truly Aashiqui 2. The film is targeted at the youth. It will leave your eyes wet and your throats dry. Amazing chemistry #outstandingmove #applause.
Piku (2015)
Piku
Piku is one gem of a movie - a film that is as realistic as it is charming, as beautiful as it is brilliantly humorous. Soojit Sircar's able directorial efforts on Juhi Chaturvedi's excellent script turn it into an ineffable film experience. With its quirky and eccentric characters, the film adopts a persistent sense of everyday realism which makes the overall product consistently engaging, funny, moving and fascinating. Piku is comic and dramatic in equal parts, but more than its substance, it is a true visual treat Deepika Padukone outstanding performance music is soulfull best movie Bollywood.
Tamasha (2015)
Tamasha
Ironically,Tamasha begins with a stage play about a robotic man caught between the mechanized life and his love, which symbolizes Ved himself as we get to know in the progress of the story. The film is all about protagonist Ved caught in the dilemma of identity crisis and his reinvention of himself after he make acquaintance with free-spirited Tara (Deepika Padukone).
The complexity in presenting the lead characters and their emotions goes a bit overboard unlike other films from Imtiaz, but manages to engage till the end, thanks to soulful score by A. R. Rahman, beautiful visuals by Ravi Varman👍👍
Agneepath (2012)
Agneepath
I usually don't prefer to watch remake of bollywood classics from past after my bad experience with ram gopal verma's AAG n many more which are more than cliché' ..disaster.....but Agneepath stand tall. Basic theme being the same...story of a child avenging his fathers death but chinematography ,sets, scenes and musics defines and take to a new level. I was really mesmerized by Rishi Kapoor's acting. This vintage actor truly shown his shine and worth in the film.hrithik Roshan rocks has an actor always underrated actor of Bollywood Sanjay dutt always an icon dada rocks fabulous duo waiting for part 2.
Cocktail (2012)
Cocktail
COCKTAIL as the name suggests is a perfect example of the chaotic formula usually followed in our Hindi Films. Chaotic, because they often make a mess out of a film which in reality could have been a great entertainer for all the young at heart. In fact it has now become a routine to see new big banner films with a great star-cast, starting off brilliantly in their first half and then crashing down miserably in the second as if the makers had lost their interest in its making.
Unfortunately COCKTAIL also falls in the same category of films which successfully manage to impress #superbdirection.
Jubin Nautiyal: Tum Hi Aana (2019)
Tum hi aana
"Tum Hi Aana" is a heartfelt romantic drama that weaves emotions seamlessly into its narrative. The film beautifully captures the essence of love and heartbreak, with powerful performances by the lead actors. The music adds a soulful layer to the storytelling, enhancing the overall cinematic experience. While the plot may follow some familiar tropes, the execution and chemistry between the characters make it a compelling watch for fans of emotional love stories. The cinematography in "Tum Hi Aana" deserves special mention for its visual poetry, enhancing the emotional depth of each scene. Wow.
Lion (2016)
Lion
WOW! What an epic movie and true life to boot. How this did not win any Oscars is beyond me. Such emotion that all the actors portrayed. Heart wrenching scenes, make sure you have tissues close at hand; you will need them several times throughout the movie. Then the ending, is there such a thing as a happy gut punch? During the credits are real life video and images of the family portrayed in the movie. Fantastic movie with emotion and epic vistas. Unbelievable and I cannot wait to read the book the movie was based on. Awesome movie #directionisawsum #fantastic #lovethemovie #vidamuyarchi.....
12th Fail (2023)
12th fail movie Is Passed
Movie that definitely breaks the typecasting of Bollywood movies from the ongoing load of commerical, overhyped, overmarketed movies coming out of the movie factory, that is Bollywood.
Depicts a real life story of an UPSC aspirant (and the likes), the struggles year after year, the battle of resilience, and at last the judgement day.
With brilliant direction and performance by every actor/ actress making the plot look so aligned was delivered flawlessly. It would definitely connect with the Indian viewers and others.
Overall "Bold, Raw, Unfiltered and Real'
Another classy movie #cultclassic.
Baby (2015)
Baby 😍 amazing
Its rare, in its extremity, for Bollywood to make a masterpiece. But once in a while they do and this year Neeraj Pandey and Akshya Kumar gave a classic like "BABY". Every scene, background score, cinematography and almost everything is done to perfection. And that second half will glue you to your seat! Such a thrill, such a tension, the effort put by director is so brilliant that you will feel like cheering up. None of the characters are wasted. Everyone has a important part to play in. The acting is superb. Everyone, and I mean literally everyone has acted so well amazing movie #masterpiece ..
