Cats & Dogs (2001)
funniest "rated G" movie ive ever seen
WARNING_POSSiBLE SPOILERS....if you havent seen this movie, go rent it! this is a good movie for kids to adults, especially for any cat owners , as this movie depicts cats as evil and diabolically clever creatures out to rule the world. the special fx were great, the acting was great, all the animal voices were done by some great actors . (i loved sean hayes "mr tinkles" voice) for older audiences , theres spoofs of movies like "desperado", Full metal jacket", and other serious movies. i doubt kids have seen all the movies this flick makes fun of, but im sure they'll be having a great time looking at all the talking cats and dogs. my favorite moments are involving the evil mastermind himself, Mr Tinkles, says lines like, "at what point did you forget that WE'RE TRYING TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD???", or (talking to one of the other cats , )"i want you to stay here". "Why?" "Because I hate you." great family flick! enjoy!
Prison Heat (1993)
without doubt the worst movie ive ever seen
DO NOT RENT THIS MOVIE!!!!!! please! i'm begging you!! the storyline , the characters, the acting, the music, the props, the sets, EVERYTHING was horrible! sure, there was nudity, but it wasnt that good. it was when a woman was getting violated by the prison guard. call me crazy, but i dont find sex scenes like that erotic in the remotest way. if you wanna see a movie with lotsa nudity, see "showgirls"or something. sure, in that movie, the story and characters were horrible, but at least the women women getting NEKKID in showgirls were actualy good looking. dont waste your time with this piece of s***. please
Army of Darkness (1992)
hilarious!
i'd seen this movie kicking around video stores for years and it looked kinda weird. well, the other night , curiosity got the best of me and i wasnt sorry that it did!!! this movie was the most bizarre movie ive EVER seen, but in a good way! the acting was great, being intentionally corny, i guess to spoof some of the acting in many horror movies. bruce campbell was hilarious as "Ash", an employee at "S-Mart" (get it?) who becomes involved with the "necronomican" (i cant believe i know how to spell it!)and some ancient evil is released which kills his girlfriend and then comes back for him. he gets sent back to medievel times, and needs to retrieve the necronomican to get back to his own time. campbell has some really funny one liners which left me laughing. there are even some spoofs of george lucas/steven speilberg movies that are kinda hard to spot. and the cinematography in this movie was INCREDIBLE!!!!! great weird shots that added to the campy dark quality of the movie. the humor in this movie is downright bizarre but absolutely hilarioius. i was almost suprised this was in the "horror" section at the video store. its a great spoof of horror movies with many very original moments as well. i give this a 10 outta 10. i couldnt find any flaws. the special effects were bad, but i think they were supposed to be to add to the tone of the movie. definitely worth checking out for horror or comedy or movie buffs!
The Anti Gravity Room (1995)
great tv show about comics and pop culture
this was a great tv show that used to air on YTV, a canadian channel. i dont know if theyre still making it, but i hope they are because it was basically THE tv show for pop culture. although its main focus was comics-both mainstream and independent, there were also video games, music, movies, card games, and lotsa cool pop culture stuff. it was a GREAT show with good guest stars (they had Ben Stiller host one show) and interviews with many famous people in the comics industry (Stan Lee, Will Eisner, Daniel Clowes, and a whole bunch of other artists and cartoonists and writers)the show was also written in a humorous style, with the hosts always joking around and making fun of some of the stuff they were reviewing and talking about. as far as i know, it's the only tv show of its kind, so if youre into comics, and you see this in the tv guide, its definitely worth checking it out.
(PS, if theres any Will Eisner fans out there, email me)
