Cats (2019)
Boring and weird
This movie was so boring from the opening scene to the (never ending) closing scene that I forgot why I love musicals. The best moment in the film was when someone on a few rows in front of me started laughing really loud and saying "whaaaaat" before leaving.
The great songs were blurred out by everything being super weird, and instead of spectacular dances that you expect in a musical it was just un-motivated and random theatrical dance moves. Yes, it probably wasn't totally random, but it didn't give me anything.
Lets not talk about how all the cats look like tiny, hairy people and you are wondering the entire movie if they are supposed to be cats or humans, why some are naked and some not, why they have human feet (but two guys wear shoes), and if they were actually going to eat mice with kids faces.
The movie missed the part about why people love musicals. If it had managed to be a great musical experience it should have been a pleasure to watch. Instead the focus is on bad cgi, weird looking cats, basically everything being weird and a bad storyline.
And whyyy is Rebel Wilson playing herself when eveeyone else is playing a part from cats the musical.
The Rain (2018)
Could have been good but is ruined by Rasmus
This show was promising, but it was ruined by stupidity!
At the beginning Rasmus was pretty annoying just because stupid kids who ruins everything by being stupid is just so hard to watch. For example he takes off his seatbelt while his father is driving like a maniac just to get something really stupid and the car crashes.
Then I kind of buy into the whole naive story about two kids trying to find their father (even when they know he spread the virus and it totally doesn't make any sense) and I accept that most of the stuff these kids meet is stuff borrowed from other apocalyptic series. I accept the weird story about young love, about cannibals, about all the (seven) remaining people in the city wants to kill them but not each other... I accept all of this and then the last two episodes ruined everything. WHY does Rasmus suddenly turn into a very slow thinking person. 1) not to spoil everything, but after the incident with that girl - how could he not get what was happening? How could he not understand that what he did next was a pretty stupid thing to do. 2) the whole wanting to die scene and the hostage exchange.. nope. Just nope. 3) he doesn't get ANYTHING at Apollon. He keeps saying he doesn't understand what's happening after he was the one who turned himself in and when he did that he seemed to have a reason for it - but now he suddenly doesn't want them to take a simple sample from his mouth. Why? 4) And then people around him start to die and he still acts like he doesn't know that there was even a virus in this world. And then he tries to escape? 5,6,7,8) and then they are like "hey, this guy is a living bomb, let's bring him out of the quarantine zone and spread the virus to the rest of the world. Because we are one happy group of friends.
I wish I never saw the last two episodes.
- The actor who played Rasmus does a very good job. It's the script and not tha acting that made me not like him -
