Not as bad as people online say.
22 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This wasn't as bad as I assumed it was going to be. A lot of people hate on this series, so I really wasn't expecting much, but was slightly surprised by some of it.

A group of people lead by a wealthy man uncover a pyramid in the arctic, and end up uncovering a ancient hunting tradition the predators started to breed their ultimate big game "Xenomorphs".

The characters and dialogue left quite a lot to be desired. Other then the main character we get very little character work. We are pretty much given the quirk we would be seeing by each person present, and then just seeing them be that quirk throughout the very limited screen time they'd get.

The main character was actually one of the best parts of the movie. I like seeing her go from crazy safety lady, to badass Xenomorph killer. Watching her and the predator working together was also a really neat idea, and worked very well.

The effects for the gore were good, but the movie was rated PG-13 so we got a lot less human gore, and a lot more Alien and predator gore. The predator's seemed really bulky this movie, and their uniforms looked a bit cheaper. The armor didn't have that authentic look and feel, and I felt it looked more like a costume. The heat vision camera in this movie also looked a lot worse then usual, and I disliked that. I also despised that for some reason they didn't use predator's noises as much, and instead made him sound like a Lion. It was stupid, and I don't know how that got approved.

Overall, characters and dialogue weren't great, but the fighting between the Xenomorphs and predators was very entertaining. The best part of the movie is the last twenty minutes.

A great watch, highly recommended

Action packed, rollercoaster. Daniel Radcliffe has done some weird ass movies in his career, and this just fits right in. The jokes were on point, the action was amazing, and made you feel like you were in a video game at times. The effects were spot on with the tone of the movie, and the characters were over the top and eccentric. It's worth a watch, and I feel like it's rewatch ability is through the roof.

Very Disappointed

Warning: Spoilers
I will never understand why this is the gold standard for horror. The movie was okay, the face hugger and the chest burster were great, and everything up that that point was good.

A few things that make no sense to me, Why is the cat so important? Why is Ash randomly a robot? Everyone seems mad at "Mother" but they are the ones in control of the ship?

Some scenes were a lot longer than they should have been, making some of the movie very tedious and boring. Also, the scene where one of the crew is in a very large room, and looks up and it's super bright, and also seems like it's raining. Where does the scene take place? Is he suppose to still be in the ship? It's raining, how is it raining?

The scenes where the full grown Alien attack are shot in a weird way, and take away the significance of there deaths for me. It doesn't show what happens to them? They see the Alien, they scream, close up of them screaming, close up of the Alien's face, death.

The first half of the movie was good, the second half just really tanked it for me.

Don't believe the bad reviews
22 July 2018
Okay, I can admit that not all of the Happy Madison movies that were on Netflix are great, but if you liked the first Joe Dirt, you'll like this movie.

David Spade is good, but the main focus of the movie is his son, and the plot isn't terrible. It's not a coming of age story, but more of a dealing with your past kind of a story.

I liked it, the movie had heart, and a lot of the jokes landed for me, not all of them, but most of them.

I laughed

I feel like too many people are taking this more seriously. I went in knowing it was an Adam Sandler movie. I knew the jokes were going to be bad! That's the point! Don't listen to the people sporting the race card! If you can't just sit back and laugh don't bother.

The action scenes We're cartoony, but fun. Some jokes did fall flat, but I laughed through most of the movie, especially after all the brothers got together. The storyline is good and all the cameos throughout the movie were well done.

In short, sit back and have fun. Laugh. Stop taking these movies so seriously.
