The Feeding (2006)
I've seen worse Werewolf films!
The story goes... Two wildlife experts are tracking a Ronin animal killing all the game on the mountainside. Just so happens seven pot smoking 20 something's are going on a hiking trip in the area, did they ever choose the wrong place. A big beast is stalking this mountain side and it's hungry. Not winning any Oscars here but it's enough to forward this plot. At least writer/director Paul Moore does some things right. With whatever little budget he had he used it on practical effects and a Werewolf costume. No CGI, it's already better than Cursed! Although we get some really annoying blurring to cover up whatever the problem was with the suit. There are a few decent kills and of plenty of looks at the Werewolf. The head design wasn't all that great, but it's a bit different than your normal Werewolf. The actresses used would be girls you'd know in real life, which I can appreciate for once, but cute enough to be in a movie, and they all show their breasts, again I can appreciate that. Of course the dialog is pretty bad, along with some mediocre acting but it makes it amusing in a fun bad way. So not a horrid piece of crap, still better than Cursed in many ways but not a stellar must see Werewolf film by any means. As a huge Werewolf fan I'd only recommend this film if you got a few bong hits or drinks in ya. If you wanna have some bad B movie fun then watch this puppy...
Intruder (1989)
For the gore only
Well this little cheesy slasher directed by a fake shemp isn't terrible. The acting is quite bad and their ain't much story, but hell the murders are nice and gory, uncut version only. A super market closing for the night is marking down prices because the 2 owners are selling it. So the night crew stay late, but to their surprise a maniac is wasting them all in the process. Bandsaws, butcher knives and meat hooks all used as weapons. Get past the cheesy dialogue and you got a fun movie. But there aren't many slashers that aren't cheesy. A nice uncut version on disc would be a good thing and a must have for the die hard slasher fan. Sam and Ted Raimi are in this one, plus Bruce Campbell got a small roll as well.
AVP: Alien vs. Predator (2004)
Wasted Film
I really can't say to much about this wasted opportunity. First of all the studio who obviously didn't have a clue took this from Anderson, much like what happened to his terrible Resident Evil and tried to make it more friendly for the kiddies. How do 6 R-rated films culminate into a PG-13 rated piece of junk? I'm not sure what the studio was thinking but not sure the R rating would have helped it anyways. The story is bland at most, a coming to age for the teenage Predators, fighting their way through the Aliens to become warriors. Here are a few spoilers
*** Spoilers****
There really isn't much to spoil since the plot was so terrible. Fight scenes were crap, the dialogue was laughable. The team up of the Human and Teenage Predator was the silliest thing I've ever seen. I was waiting for her to kiss her new boyfriend. All the Humans should have died, and if we could have seen any of the violence it would have been nice. Tumbling and throwing Aliens around was ridiculous and seemed to me it was geared toward the younger audience.
I paid no money to see it so it was just wasted time for me. It's not all bad, at least there were practical effects used and it wasn't all CGI. The bullet time face huggers were laughable and was an unwise choice for Anderson and his team who thought that up. I hope someone will make this film right one day and a studio will let them...
Suspiria (1977)
One of the 100 best
This is a classic horror film. With a visual style all of it's own. A great story line, and wonderful gore this is by far one of the best horror films ever made. But you can say that about almost any Argento film.
