High School Musical 3: Senior Year (2008)
Low School Musical
This being my first HSM movie, I did not go in with high expectations, I was very neutral to be honest. As soon as Zac Efron opened his mouth and began to sing, I knew I was in for a roller-coaster ride that ends in death.
I am being very generous giving this movie a 3/10, perhaps it was because I was enjoying the songs, who knows.
The acting is simply dreadful, but this being aimed at the teenage audience, they won't necessarily pay attention to the acting.
If you want a movie with a plot, great acting etc, this movie is not for you. Actually, nobody deserves to see a movie this dreadful, even if somebody paid me to watch it again, I'll happily refuse.
So in conclusion, at dreadful movies you would laugh, of course, but this is not one of those, this movie is so bad in fact, that it doesn't deserve your laughter or your presence in the cinema.
Avoid at all costs!
Adulthood (2008)
Exaggerated film...
I give credit to Noel Clarke for making such a moving film, but it is very much exaggerated. I happen to know quite a few 'ghetto' guys. I also live in Wood Green which is pretty run down with crime and it is nothing like this film suggests. I do not see friends hitting each other with bricks. There's no way this film should be in the top 250. It is a worth while film, but nothing spectacular.
The only reason it gets 8.8 is because of teenagers who haven't seen actual masterpieces.
As said, it is a worth while film with some comedy that makes you laugh out loud at times. Noel Clarkes' directing is spot on but it has been exaggerated like there is no tomorrow.
6/10
Casablanca (1942)
Play it over and over again
For the first time in my life, I felt this magnificent feeling for a film like nothing I have ever experienced before. I have seen many films in my 18 years and nothing, I mean absolutely nothing comes even close to this film. It is cinematic perfection - the music, acting, casting, everything is spot on.
I sat through this film on the edge of my seat, from beginning to the mesmerising end. Casablanca shows true values for what it means to be in love and have friends that love you dearly, even though they may not show it upfront.
Honestly, I do not even know what to write about it - I am left in awe.
This is truly America's best film.
Absolutely recommend it to anyone who enjoys great cinematic experiences.
