Thought I was going crazy seeing the 87% on Rottentomatoes
5 July 2021
I was excited to watch this after being an avid reader of the books during the 90's.

It just fell flat. I didn't like the characters, there was too much side drama, and the story just felt uneven.

Like the writers couldn't make up their mind if they wanted to create a Euphoria teen drama or a slasher movie.

After going on rottentomatoes and seeing 87%, I assumed it was me. But now that I'm here reading reviews, I'm seeing the exact same comments and critiques that I felt so I now know I'm not alone.

Just bummed me out. So excited with so much expectations.

My friend brought up the movie a day later and I could barely remember any of the characters or plot because it was all so unforgettable.

South Park: The Pandemic Special (2020)
Season 24, Episode 1

Really disappointing episode.
1 October 2020
I've been a huge fan of South Park since day one and was really anticipating this episode. But after finishing, I found myself maybe laughing out loud maybe once or twice. Maybe I should have watched the previews first instead of going in blind but I was truly hoping for an episode that revolved around the kids and not another Randy-centered episode with the beaten-into-the-ground tired Tegridy story arc. It would have been funny for 3 episodes or possibly one season but enough is enough. I feel the last few seasons have really gone downhill and was truly hoping they killed off the Tegridy story arc and the Randy-centered episodes and just started focusing on the kids again.

The Wailing (2016)

This movie is painful to watch so far
5 September 2017
I see a lot of positive reviews for this movie have a hard time understanding why it's so enjoyable.

This is now the second time I've tried to sit through watching it and have given up about halfway through.

Is it supposed to be a comedy or is all the goofy antics of the main character(s) unintentional?

It's like the movie is trying to be serious/heavy but the hero is straight out of Dumb and Dumber.

Can someone explain these questions?

-Why are these police officers so inept? I've seen volunteer neighborhood watch citizens with more bearing. They're just a bunch of bumbling fools. Like the scene where they investigate the burned up house. All of the police officers just stand around while a woman attacks another officer???

-These are supposed to be police! Why are they hiding under their desk when that woman appears in the doorway to their station??? They act like 10 year olds scared at a boogeyman, not grown adults supposed to enforce the laws.

-I'm at the scene where they investigate the house and one of the officers found a room full of evidence. So what happens when the owner comes back? They hang their heads in shame like kids caught with their hand in the cookie jar. Who cares if you broke in, you just basically solved the whole mystery right there. The next scene you see a police car driving down a road and thinking "It's about time they pulled their heads out of their asses and called for backup." Nope, of course not. Instead we have a bunch more bumbling idiot Dumb and Dumber detectives. "What you're saying doesn't make sense?" Then pull the police car over and figure out what's going on with your partner??? He's obvious in distress, why are we taking this so lightly?

Why does every adult male act like a castrated wimp? These are police but act like a bunch of scared children. They obviously can't handle a serious police investigation so why are they placed in charge?

What am I missing here?

Like I said, I'm about an hour in and this is the furthest I've been able to watch before wanting to rip my hair out. It's like this movie can't figure out what it wants to be.

The movie tagline should be: A slapstick comedy about two bumbling and stammering police officers trying to solve a horrific serial killer case.

Even a Woody Allen type character has more bearing than these buffoons.
