The greatest american animated tv show ever made
29 February 2024
Avatar The Last Airbender gets better every time I watch it because it isn't a tv show only for kids, but also a compelling storytelling that also adults can enjoy. Why? Because this series is a myth full of moral and philophical lessons, profound and complex themes about our human world, extraordinary character developments and, last but not least, it has a wonderful style of animation which mix the best of american and japanese animation. Also for a guy like me that is an italian-chinese, I really appreciated the tribute of the american creators of ATLA - the geniuses Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko - to the wonderful culture and philosophy of Asia. ATLA is like a bridge between West and East like me, a myth that has shaped my tastes for a certain type of storytelling and in part my personality too through the years. Indeed, I relate so much with Aang that is my favourite character, but also the other beautiful teenager characters have something of my soul. ATLA speaks a lot to me every time and so now it's part of my DNA.

Summing up, ATLA is my favourite tv show ever due to its incredible attributes that, fortunately, now are fully acknowledged by more and more people/new fans thanks to the recent distribution on Netflix. Now I'm so excited for the upcoming film of ATLA from Avatar Studios, and I hope that the Bryke can bring another masterpiece (maybe another new Avatar series) for the small screen of Television like they did with ATLA 19 years ago. I believe in them. I believe in the Gaang. I believe in the Avatar's myth that has never disappointed me even in the comics. Please Bryke show Netflix how to create a good Avatar story!
