Puff the Magic Dragon (1978)
still one of my favourites
this was my all-time favourite movie when i was a kid.
i remember when me and my brother and cousin would drop everything we were doing to sit down for a half hour and watch and sing along with Puff and Jackie. recently, my brother's girlfriend found him a copy and we still knew all of the words to every song. i am not ashamed to say that i still love this movie. it's great for kids and enjoyable on so many levels for adults too.
if you can find a copy of this anywhere, i highly reccomend that you get this, for your kids or whoever. it's way better then most of that new "children's entertainment" that exists today. and it teaches a great lesson.
Like It Is (1998)
This movie was so awful, I couldn't stop watching
A friend of mine rented this film because it sounded interesting- gay, British boxers and their love problems. And Roger Daltry was in it, so this had to be a good time. He watched it before me and told me it was so bad, I would just keep watching in the vain hope that it would eventually become good. And it never did. The acting was horrible, and before this I don't think I've ever said that about a British movie. It really says something about a film when Roger Daltry is not only the best known actor in a movie, but also the best actor PERIOD. My friend and I have told all of our friends that if they are stupid enough to watch this movie, they'd better not complain about it to us because we would mock them for not paying attention to us.
Mona Lisa Smile (2003)
I'll admit it- I was pleasantly surprised
I am not what you would call a Julia Roberts fan, and the simple knowledge of Roberts acting in a film will keep me away from a theatre. This movie has in no way changed my opinions of her "talent" but I did enjoy the rest of the movie. Kirsten Dunst and Maggie Gyllenhaal were fantastic. They were what allowed me to actually pay for a movie ticket to a picture featuring Roberts, and I was definitely not disappointed. I would suggest this movie to someone in the mood for something uncomplicated.
8 out of 10, because I didn't like Roberts or her character.
