One Piece: Wan pîsu: The Strongest Form of Humanity! The Seraphim's Powers (2024)
They Cooked
After the last episode I got my hopes down because I thought they spent all the budget on that episode. The animation was 10/10 the entire time, even when Vegapunk was explaining devil fruits it was well animated. There wasn't a second where that episode didn't look gorgeous, so I was fully expecting them to barely get by this episode. I WAS SO WRONG. This episode is another 10/10, the animation was amazing. They perfectly adapted all of luffy's major moves, another reason to watch instead of read. I am completely satisfied, they could animate the rest of this arc poorly and I'd be fine with what I have now. One thing that puts one piece over other shows in terms of animation is not just the fluidity and uniqueness, its also character acting. The personalities and charm is second to none, one segment of Luffy moving could have 9 different expressions that you won't catch at your first watch. This shined through during this episode and the previous one.
TLDR; They Cooked.
One Piece: Wan pîsu: Powers on a Different Level! Luffy vs. Lucci! (2024)
The Perfect Episode Adaptation
This episode is the reason why I hesitate to tell people to read one piece instead of watch it. You'll miss out on THIS. This episode has animation that literally shouldn't be possible to create, every part of the team killed it here. The director, the animators, everything. This episode has more personality than most shows in their entirety, and that's not to put down any other shows. The amount of creative liberties they took from 10 manga pages is unbelievable, and yes, this episode only adapted 10 PAGES, that's not even a chapter, and you wouldn't even notice if I didn't mention it. This episode is the standard for how you're supposed to adapt manga to an anime, and I will be thinking about this for years to come.
