Roll up roll up roll up
On Halloween night, a group of six terrifying inmates manage to break free from a high-security mental asylum. Their twisted minds lead them to target unsuspecting teenagers who are enjoying the thrills of the newly opened Haunted Scream Park, turning it into a night of horror and terror.
If you enjoy gore, this film is perfect for you with plenty of bloody scenes to keep you entertained. The minor plot twists add an extra layer of excitement to the film. While the performances may not be outstanding, the film compensates with captivating moments that will hold your attention. This is an adventure that won't leave you frightened, but it certainly won't leave you uninterested either, that's for sure.
Insidious (2010)
Brilliant
As if the situation wasn't already distressing enough, strange and eerie events began to unfold in their new house. Objects moved on their own, whispers echoed through the hallways, and shadows danced in the corners of their vision. The once peaceful home now felt like a haunted house, filled with an unsettling energy. Josh and Renai couldn't help but wonder if there was a connection between their son's coma and the paranormal occurrences. Determined to uncover the truth, they embarked on a journey that would test their courage and challenge their beliefs.
Overall, the combination of well-executed jump scares, unsettling sound design, thrilling pacing, camera movement, and demon design makes this horror film a standout in the genre. It manages to deliver scares and thrills without relying on excessive gore, focusing instead on building tension and creating a sense of dread that lingers long after the movie is over. For fans of horror films that prioritize atmosphere and suspense over graphic violence, this movie is definitely worth a watch.
Dracula Untold (2014)
This Dracula didn't suck ;)
In the dark and mysterious land of Transylvania, a formidable prince named Vlad the Impaler stood as the last line of defense against the relentless Turkish forces. Faced with the imminent threat of invasion, Vlad made a fateful decision that would forever change his destiny and that of his beloved family and kingdom. In a desperate bid to safeguard his loved ones and preserve the sovereignty of his realm, Vlad embarked on a perilous journey into the realm of the supernatural, transforming himself into a creature of the night - a vampire. If you have a penchant for vampire-themed movies, this prequel story is definitely a must-watch.
The film offers a fresh perspective on the iconic Dracula character, shedding light on his humanity before he succumbs to the darkness within. Pet Sematary (1989)
This film holds a special place in my heart..
Louis Creed and his family recently relocated to a new house in a quiet neighborhood, eager to start fresh and make new memories. As they began to unpack and decorate their new home, they couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. Little did they know that their peaceful new beginning would soon take a dark turn.
Despite its flaws, this film still holds a special place in my memories, and I believe it is worth revisiting for a nostalgic trip through the golden era of storytelling in cinema. The special effects that once terrified me now seem quaint, and the storyline appears to be filled with clichés that were common in that period. It may not hold up to modern standards, but it remains a classic that shaped my early experiences with horror films.
Munchies (1987)
Fun but not great..
In the depths of Peru, an archaeologist stumbled upon a peculiar creature unlike anything he had ever seen before. Bringing it back to his home, he affectionately named it a 'Munchie', unaware of the chaos that would soon unfold as the creature began to undergo unexpected mutations. The situation took a turn for the worse when a cunning con man managed to steal the Munchie, throwing the archaeologist into a whirlwind of confusion and desperation as he tried to track down the elusive creature before it was too late.
Despite its shortcomings, this movie manages to create a fun and entertaining-ish experience for viewers. I remember stumbling upon it in my younger years, and while it clearly takes inspiration from Gremlins, it has a unique charm of its own. If you enjoy watching cheesy films, then this one will definitely appeal to you. Although it's definitely not for everyone, If you come across this film and have some free time, I suggest giving it a chance! I rate this film 3 out of 10!
The Devil's Advocate (1997)
Vanity! My favourite sin..
Kevin receives a tempting proposition from a prestigious law firm located in New York, prompting him to relocate to the bustling city alongside his wife. As he immerses himself in his demanding job, his wife starts experiencing unsettling visions and nightmares, causing a strain on their relationship and her mental well-being. The once exciting move to the big city now seems to be taking a toll on their lives in unexpected ways, leaving Kevin torn between his career aspirations and his wife's deteriorating mental state.
This film features a plot that is slightly twisted but engaging, starting strong, faltering in the middle, and then gaining momentum towards the end. It delivers a profound message about redemption and taking opportunities to make amends. In general, it is a worthwhile watch for viewers interested in a well-crafted film with a complex storyline.
Cobweb (2023)
Pleasantly suprised!

Despite his parents' reassurances that the tapping is merely a figment of his imagination, Peter's anxiety mounts as he becomes increasingly convinced that they are concealing a sinister and perilous truth from him.
Viewers are in for a treat with this film, as it offers an enthralling experience that sets it apart as a standout addition to the world of modern horror. The visuals are striking, complemented by top-notch sound design and a simple yet impactful plot. For maximum effect, it is suggested to watch it in a dark room with the volume cranked up.
Ghoulies III: Ghoulies Go to College (1990)
What a Classic!
Professor Ragnar unleashes a trio of adorable yet mischievous creatures from the confines of their comic book realm, employing their unique abilities to put an end to the chaos of Prank Week, leaving a trail of delightful mayhem in their wake. These monsters, with their playful antics and boundless energy, bring an unexpected twist to the campus as they navigate through the various pranks, turning the tables on the pranksters and leaving everyone in fear for their lives.
This film, despite its occasional silliness and moments of absurdity, holds a special place in my heart! The ghoulies featured in it always manage to bring a smile to my face. It's the kind of film that I can revisit time and time again without losing interest. It truly captures that nostalgic late 80s/early 90s vibe before the era of political correctness took over. I wholeheartedly suggest checking it out! I rate this film 7.5 out of 10!
The Exorcist: Believer (2023)
Memorable but could be better
Victor Fielding, a dedicated and loving father, is confronted with a horrifying ordeal when his daughter Angela and her friend Katherine start displaying alarming symptoms of demonic possession. The situation quickly spirals into a nightmarish scenario, pushing Victor to his emotional and mental limits as he tries to comprehend the unfathomable evil that has consumed his beloved ones. Overwhelmed and desperate for assistance, he makes the difficult decision to reach out to Chris MacNeil, the sole person who possesses firsthand knowledge and experience in dealing with these malevolent forces.
Although the film does manage to provide some gratifying moments as it progresses, the initial slow pace and the delayed introduction of its Exorcist essence might have impeded its overall impact on the audience. The absence of a compelling build-up throughout the film could have potentially lessened the effectiveness of the climax, leaving viewers yearning for a more captivating storyline. The cinematography, sound, and make-up really stood out. These elements added depth and visual appeal, enhancing the film's overall quality and making it a memorable cinematic journey. I rate this film 5 out of 10!

Eerie!
A man and his partner come to the rescue of his brother's daughters, who have been living in the wild. However, as they settle into their new family dynamic, the couple begins to notice a mysterious and eerie presence lurking in the shadows. This feminine figure seems to have attached itself to the girls, casting a dark cloud over their once peaceful household.
Despite the film's many strengths, I couldn't help but notice a few inconsistencies in the direction at times. While these minor flaws did not go unnoticed, they did not detract significantly from the overall impact of the movie. Either way, the story and character development were engaging enough to keep me invested. This film is undoubtedly a gem that deserves a watch. I rate this film 7.5 out of 10!
