This Comedy Starts Weak, Continues Weak, Ends Weak, Josh Gad Stinks
1 January 2017
When this show first came on the air I remember looking forward to seeing it. There was a great late night show interview with Billy Crystal and I saw clips of the show that actually made it look pretty good.

Boy was I wrong!

When I tuned in to actually watch it, the show was really just terrible. And then the next episode was worse, and the one after that, and so on.

Billy Crystal and the guest stars (and they had some pretty impressive star names and funny comedians as guest stars including Mel Brooks, Steven Weber, etc) were just wasted and coasting. Judging by this show and the last several Oscars etc I've seen him host I think maybe it is time for Billy Crystal to hang them up and get out of comedy, because if he thinks this is actually a funny comedy series to sign on to he obviously has lost his funny bone.

And Josh Gad is just plain awful. Not remotely funny or talented in every way. Everything I've seen him in I found him awful and unfunny and this is about the worst.

Not Good
21 January 2015
This show is a winning formula.... I loved the American version/original version when it came on.... but this version has a lot of problems where they don't seem to get what made the first version such a big hit. From what I can tell the audience and me included are very disappointed with this show and for similar reasons so here is my attempt to list those reasons and I hope the people who make and perform in this show will see it and take it to heart and change the show.

  • the cast needs work, either getting better at performing and seeming real or just actually being real, or possibly they even need to be replaced.

  • the writing is bad, not sure if it is writing or should be called that but they obviously have ideas of what they are doing, where they are going, who they are seeing and especially the ideas of what items are found/planted in the storage lockers they buy.... this part of the show should be a lot more interesting and fun and seem fresher/realer.

  • location wise the show is very boring, they need more interesting and better locations to do the show at and need to change things up more, the American show does this a lot and it works very well.

The show isn't terrible it just doesn't hold a candle to the great original series it is based on, not sure if you can see my ratings but I give it a 4 out of 10.

The Worst!
12 September 2010
I don't know who these people are who actually go to see this guy perform his stupid ventriloquist (spelling? sorry!) act but this comedy is so bad it makes me want to vomit a little bit into my own mouth. Who actually finds this funny, seriously? Predictable old jokes we all know the punch lines to and half the stuff has the puppets out in the real world or whatever and they remove Jeff Dunham from the scenes with CGI or whatever so what is the point? Isn't the reason people watch ventriloquists to that they can see the talent of talking and moving the puppet without moving their lips? I don't know because I don't watch this kind of thing I find it incredibly unfunny. As the other reviewer said this kind of talent died out like 50 years ago so it's infuriating to see this on my TV! Please cancel this garbage!

Truly Awful
17 August 2009
I read that this show was produced but then kept off the air for like a year and a half, I didn't even know it was Canadian but I guess (not really I guess but according to this article) that during the screen writer strike in the United States they produced a few shows in Canada and bought the rights to air these new shows in the U.S. such as Flashpoint (great series) and this (truly awful series). I'm all for Canadian produced T.V. shows but only good ones! This one sucks worse than any Canadian drama series has ever sucked before, it sucks sucks sucks! The acting is terrible, the plots of all three episodes I saw were completely stupid and in fact the whole concept of the show is just awful. This is a truly awful show that never should have been produced.

This Show Sucks & The Hosts Suck
16 August 2009
The hosts are terrible not to mention way, way, way too old to be hosting a show like this targeted at teenagers. They keep doing skits that are just plain not funny. And all of them seem like they are so full of themselves, and apparently they no little to nothing about all of their guests and especially about music overall. I see no educational, entertainment, or any other kind of value in this show at all and I can't believe it is still on the air. This is exactly the kind of show that I think makes it okay for parents to ban their children from watching certain TV shows, since apparently some kids are so brain dead or whatever they don't realize for themselves that they shouldn't be watching mindless, pointless trash like this. This and that show they air after The Hills just to discuss The Hills, are proof that our society is in decline.

Awful Writing
13 August 2009
From what I am told Royal Canadian Air Farce were obviously legends back in the day. They started out as a live troop that did shows then they had a radio show and put out comedy albums. I have heard my mom's albums (two of them, not sure how many they actually had) and they are dated but I can tell they are pretty funny. Their TV show was supposedly good at first but my only memories of it are of a bad show that just got worse and worse as time went on and the cast got older. The biggest problem with this show was the writing, the jokes never went beyond basic headlines of what was in the news (usually about two weeks too late at least) and then they would do the most basic joke about it that anyone could come up with or they would do a joke about a different subject that is still a basic joke but doesn't belong because it's about a totally different subject! I don't know what they were thinking, or maybe they just all got old and either comedy changed and they didn't or they just kept getting worse, but whether or not you like their performances and impressions their writing was so awful that it didn't really matter. Very very disappointing show that should have been canceled years and years before it was. It's sad really.

Horrible Horror!
11 August 2009
This movie is just awful.

I can't believe I actually sat through the whole thing. Is it seriously supposed to be a horror movie or is it just somebody randomly shooting stock horror scenes and editing them together thinking if they can put together enough screen time that's all that matters.

I am angry to think somebody actually may have made money off of this piece of crap. It's not even a movie, I am insulted that they thought someone would actually watch this poor excuse for a horror movie and be scared.

Shame on the people responsible for this.

Garbage!
11 August 2009
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is total garbage. That's the first of many spoilers. If you were going to see this and didn't know it was garbage I have already spoiled the movie for you.

First the cast is awful, except for the new Superman who is pretty good and the head of the newspaper, everyone in this movie just stinks. I guess the fiancé guy is okay, nobody else fits their role or is just wasted, like Kevin Spacey. Kal Penn sucks so I guess it's good he only has 2 lines in this piece of crap.

Horribly written with plot holes you could fit the entire new kryptonite continent through. How can Superman function with kryptonite stuck in his side? Even so, how can he lift an entire continent made of kryptonite when it is poisonous to him? After just five minutes before, standing on the kryptonite continent made him collapse. This movie is so stupid.

The characters are all one dimensional and lame. Not to mention the huge "surprise" everyone sees coming where the boy is Superman's son. And still the #1 complaint how does nobody realize Clark Kent is Superman? They look alike, he covers Superman stories, both of them disappear for 5 years then reappear at exactly the same time... this movie should be locked in a vault so that nobody else ever can possibly be subjected to it.

Two and a half hours of boring, boring, boring, boring garbage. BORING!

Good Potter Film
6 August 2009
I am not a very big fan of Harry Potter let me start off just by saying that. I only read the very first book and didn't like it much but see why kids would love the stories. I have seen most of the movies and like them somewhat better than the book I read but still didn't enjoy them all that much, again I see they are more for the kids who love the Potter stories. This movie I took 2 kids to and I thought it was an enjoyable film, it seems like the actors are starting to "grow up" and they are given more grown up issues to deal with and stories to tell. Particularly good I thought was the girl who played Hermione she had some great parts in this movie. The story is darker which I like for the older kids and adults who go to see this movie but they don't go too over the top with it it is still a good story and "believable" at least as far as any story like this can be believable.

I Watched it live with the Cast
6 August 2009
It was at a bar on Bloor west where they watch all the shows when they air on TV and cast members are there. It was hosted by the chubby guy from the show and another guy who was supposed to be in the show (I didn't see him in the show so he may be in other episodes) and there was also another cast member there who I think performed stand up comedy after we left. There were 12 people there including the hosts themselves and we watched the show as it aired on TV. As we watched the show we felt obligated by politeness to laugh every time the hosts laughed at their own jokes on TV. After the show most people left leaving only 5 people behind to watch a free stand up comedy show after the TV broadcast, as we got ready to leave we watched the beginning of this show and it was even worse than the TV show. It was really different the great idea to watch a show with the cast there live but it was just sad because the show was so bad and they loved their own show so much, in person they seem nice and were funny but then the show was so bad and the stand up comedy after the show was just brutal, but as I said we left shortly after it started so maybe it got better.

Such Bad Jokes
5 August 2009
This show is terrible, the jokes are all terrible and just getting worse and worse. I am one of those people who was never a big fan of Corner Gas but at least I liked it at first until it got into a rut around season two, all the jokes had been played out and the characters had nothing to them. Well at least Corner Gas was good at first, Little Mosque on the Prairie is typically awful bland CBC comedy that had nothing going for it from episode 1. Who are the people who are watching this show anyway, I am being honest is it old people or maybe just people who actually live on the prairies? Maybe the jokes are for them and they work there? I don't know a single person who likes this show and can't stand it myself, the jokes are totally predictable and the characters are even less developed than in Corner Gas. Hopefully it won't last much longer because all the success this show has had seems to me to be based entirely on the premise of this show being Muslim which is different and could/should have led to a great show.

Fun Waste of Time for Kids
5 August 2009
This movie is a fun waste of time for kids, but not for kids who are too young (they might get scared at some of the parts but the movie is clean enough for me to take the kids to, aged 12 and 10). It is another fun summer movie filled with fantasy type adventure. Apparently it is based on an original Race to Witch Mountain movie that I had never heard of until I came to visit this page just moments ago! I will have to check that out since people seem to be saying it was better. It's a fun movie where aliens visit and a taxi driver (played by the wrestler The Rock) is having his own problems to deal with but also gets dragged into helping them out with their need to get home with something very important to them (and to all of humanity), can't say much more than that without spoiling anything but it's a decent enough by the numbers summer flick to send your older kids to but if you're like me you'll be bored out of your skull if you go with them.

A Good Update
5 August 2009
This movie is good but everyone who says it is not as good as the first version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory has hit the nail right on the head. That isn't too much of a surprise though when you consider what a timeless classic the first film with Gene Wilder was, he was so great in the role not anyone could measure up, not even Johnny Depp who is one of my favourite actors. Depp does a great job but he still doesn't quite compare to the way Wilder played it. The effects are obviously much better and the film looks great but this version of the movie doesn't seem to have the same heart as the first film, and it isn't really as touching. Still this movie is worth seeing and is still good, I think a lot of kids today would prefer this version even because it just looks more modern and has such a great set and effects.

Terrible Show
5 August 2009
I like the idea to do a comedy show with a cast of women but it was just awful, I watched at least four episodes and all they did was very, very bad and unfunny hidden camera tricks and every one of these skits they did lasted way too long. It was a terrible show that looks to me like it was made by a group of female friends who all though each other was really funny and didn't worry so much about the actual audience. I also didn't like how the show was always emphasizing how sexy and hot these girls were, they has nothing to do with the show being funny or not (again it definitely was not) and the idea of having women have their own show and girl power is kind of undercut when the only good thing you can try to say about it is that the show has gorgeous girls again. I hate to say this and be mean too but these girls weren't even hot, I'm not hot and I'm better looking than all of them, they were average looking and all but one of them is pretty overweight. I have no idea what they were trying to do but they failed big time if they actually expected anyone to laugh at this.

Evolution (2001)

Entertaining
5 August 2009
"Evolution" stars David Duchovny and Julianne Moore with Seann William Scott. It is a typical fun, pointless summer movie where you're just supposed to sit back, enjoy your popcorn and watch the monsters run around. The simple and predictable (but again fun) plot has a meteorite crash into the Earth, and it predictably contains alien organisms that rapidly evolve and begin attacking humans. Duchovny and Orlando Jones are two college science teachers who learn about this meteorite and the alien life forms it contained, and they try to solve the problem only to run into the army and namely the commander who has a big problem with Duchovny who used to be in his unit until he was discharged due to a horrible mistake he made. This is where they meet Julianne Moore's CDC character who is the only one involved with the military's operation who might listen to them. It's a comedy with a lot of jokes and silliness with some great special effects for the kind of movie this is, silly summer fun that's worth watching for sure.

Dull
18 November 2008
I like Mary Walsh but this show was just really dull and boring I watched every episode and never laughed one time. Maybe I just didn't get the humour if it was regional humour or something but it just seemed like bad jokes and a lot of dirty jokes for no reason. I don't mind dirty jokes if they are good but the jokes were all just stupid and predictable with no reason for them. I am not surprised this show didn't last very long and the few friends I had who tried to watch it didn't like it in fact I am the only one I know who kept watching every week it's one of those shows where you want it to be funny and I kept watching it waiting for it to get good but it just never happened.

Amazing!
18 November 2008
Deadwood is an amazing show. The only knock I could have against it is that you have to be really careful who you let watch it because it is not for family/children viewing at all. There is more swearing than I think in any other show I have ever seen, also there is nudity, sex, etc. Of course there is violence as well. The performances in this show are amazing whoever did the casting for this show hit the nail on the head with every single character they cast for. The actors are all totally believable in every role on this show. The writing is also very good it is simply a great show that mature audiences will probably really enjoy as long as they don't mind all the swearing etc. Not for everyone but great for those who can stomach the violence, swearing and so forth.

Pathetic
18 November 2008
That's all I really can say about this show, "Pathetic". The performers are all so bad it's annoying, I actually even have a physical reaction watching this show like I'm about to be sick and I'm not just saying that to make a point it is really so bad that I feel a little sick to my stomach, not sure how that reaction works but I swear it's true. Who ever writes this televised garbage should never be allowed to write anything ever again. This show is easily one of the very worst shows I have ever seen in my entire life and as much as I want to say it is the #1 worst show ever made I'm not sure that's true because there have been some other awful shows but right now I can't think of anything I'm sure is worse than Comedy Inc. It is shameful that this show was ever put on TV and I mean it who ever spent good money to make this show and wasted all that air time airing it should be ashamed of themselves. This show's Pathetic.

Very Good But Not As Great......
18 November 2008
I agree with the other poster on here that all of the Charlie Brown/Peanuts TV specials through the sixties and seventies were much better than the later specials, including this one, but I still think this one is very good. Even though it's not as "touching and even profound" as the earlier ones it is still pretty good and holds up a lot better than most franchises that go on and on for years. I am surprised how well Charlie Brown/Peanuts continued to hold up over all those years. Yes it got worse but was still pretty good and great family themed entertainment that always had a decent message/moral behind it. I also disagree that the Garfield specials were "even worse", I think they were much better than the later Charlie Brown/Peanuts specials at least as far as how many laughs we got out of those specials.
