Ghahreman (2021)
Repetitive
From the first minute of the movie I found myself questioning every decision Farhadi made about the scenario; from showing all the steps Rahim had to climb to the last shot from the prison door.
He used to be a good story teller, but similar to all the has beens, he is been chasing his best works ever since about elly and a seperation came out around a decade or so ago.
Some believe to realize a work of art you should observe it as a single unit, not dependent on the setting and context of its origin, however, this particular one proved to be in favor of one notion about "social media is bad, therefore we're gonna censor everything" in Iran. I find Farhadi a propagandist more than a director, yet I'm sorry for that because I used to be a fan of his early works on tv since two decades ago. I tried so hard to like the movie, but the only good thing about the whole thing was Rahim's girlfriend's devotion. Everything else was either repetitive, or fake. And I'm truly sorry.
The Killing (2011)
Perfect thinking time
I started to watch season 1 back in May I guess, and read that the Rosie Larsen murder investigation will last 2 seasons. Honestly I was so disappointed because of the slow process so I quit watching. About a month ago I started to watching it again, with my mom. Then I realized why it lasted 2 seasons to build up a murder case that will not make you happy after it was solved. Because there is no strict line between right or wrong, or righter or wronger and bad guys won't end up in jail and good ones meet their salvation. It's not that easy in real life, so why should it be easy in "The Killing"? We both Loved the show. Then we watched season 3 and believe me, it was something else. The whole storyline and acting got me thinking, can a show be more realistic? More true about the danger that runaway kids have to face every day? Every character has a touching back up story which is necessary for the process and the show has done a great job showing it. I wanted to watch it all over again and enjoy every second of it because this show was worth it. I highly recommend it for anyone who is interested in a good TV show.
Jack the Giant Slayer (2013)
Perfect sibling time
Frankly I was prepared to watch a huge waste of money on crappy visual effects and famous actors. It turned out to be pleasant time with my brother. Jack and the Beanstalk is a well-known international fable with not so well story compared to other myths and fables, but the writer did a great job adapting the scripts. Visual effects are good-not bad- and nothing is overrated. Watching Jack the giant slayer is a nice sibling time. Highly recommended. Somehow I'm not looking forward to watch a sequel of the story. Especially not with giants walking around London. it's like watching Thor: the dark world (2013) all over again.
