Designs for Revenge (2020)
14 minutes in....
LMN is my guilty pleasure, but wow. I can't continue....it's like they're reading off of script cards. I've never seen two adults more impressed with a house app. It's 2021 for Gods sake!!!
Dumbfounded husband..."uh, gee, that's like...really neat. Like, uh....can I, uh...get it downloaded to my phone?"
Stupid wife.....walking around like a fish with her mouth hanging open. "Like, oh my god....like, is this, like...my kitchen??" "Like, what we don't have a basement?" "Are you sure that we, like, don't, like...have a basement?" "Babe, are you...like.....sure, we don't, like, have....a like basement?"
Not even 15 minutes in....annnd I'm like, done.
The Wrong Cheerleader Coach (2020)
The Wrong Glasses Prescription
I've always found LMN movies to be cheesy, distracting fun...mostly, but this was BAD; even by LMN "standards". The single father was the SINGLE worse actor I've ever laid eyes on. If you take a shot every time the buffoon puts on/removes his glasses, you'll die of alcohol poisoning. It was distracting to the point I couldn't even concentrate on the movie. Holy Hell.
Dory's Reef Cam (2020)
Wasted Opportunity
Was excited when I saw this on Disney+, I love anything Nemo/Dory related. Turned it on this morning, definitely not with the intention for watching it for three hours...but thought it would be a cute little time waster for a few minutes. To my immense disappointment, it's the same loop...within the first five minutes, I watched the loop four times. I think the concept was nice, but pretty bummed that the animators couldn't even be bothered to draw 30 minutes worth of animation. Just my opinion.
Psycho Yoga Instructor (2020)
Boring with capital B
LMN movies are my guilty pleasure. I love watching for the sheer ridiculousness of the plots and characters. My 14 year old son has even started watching with me just so we can laugh at the craziness of it all!
With that being said, this is the most boring LMN movie I've ever seen. Nothing happens for an hour and a half into the movie. Just a lot of talking, stretching and weird bathtub dreams.
Snore.
Sonic the Hedgehog (2020)
Better than I expected!!
My eight year old nephew begged to see the film so we went with my 14 year old son. The trailers looked okay and I didn't go in expecting much. I was blown away by how much fun I had. Solid comedy and of course Jim Carrey was a treasure. Sonic was adorable and the voice acting was spot on. Took one of my favorite games as a child and turned it into a really sweet movie. It was a lot of fun!!
A Christmas Carol (2019)
Dark, gripping and surprising
Found this one while channel surfing and gave it a go. Had my 13 year old hooked from minute one. He and I both enjoyed this newer, darker retelling of a classic. Slow to start, but quite fantastic!
Toy Story 4 (2019)
This hurts me....
5/10 and they only get the 5 due to my loyalty with the Toy Story brand. Finally got around to seeing this last night and I was so disappointed! I've been a fan from the beginning and at 31, I STILL cry every time I watch TS3. This one was a huge slap in the face to the fans of the franchise. Bonnie straight up tosses Woody to the side, but still plays with the other toys faithfully?? I just couldn't wrap my head around it and the ending left me very unsatisfied. Animation was gorgeous, but I will pretend that TS3 was the "final" movie. This was a travesty.
Dumbo (2019)
Dumboless
I was a huge fan of Dumbo as a little girl. My favorite animal is the elephant. I can't put into words how excited I was for this! And What a massive disappointment this was. A majority of the movie revolved around the children and their father. What was the point??? Let me see this elephant fly!! Danny Devito was a treasure though. Poor guys back is probably killing him, since he carried the whole movie. What little I saw of dumbo was wonderful. He was an absolute cutie!!!
The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part (2019)
Not as awful as I was lead to believe!
My son and I enjoyed the first LEGO Movie. We also watched LEGO Batman and found it to be enjoyable as well. This movie I put off seeing in theaters due to reviews from moviegoers. I wish I hadn't. Although nothing can top the first Lego movie, this was still quite cute and entertaining. I don't understand all the negative reviews. I wasn't expecting anything academy worthy from plastic toys... It's not Hamlet folks.
Stripped (2019)
Oh boy
The actors/actresses had the range of a living room wall. This was awful even for a Lifetime movie...BUT It was good for a few chuckles so two stars for that.
Perfect Bid: The Contestant Who Knew Too Much (2017)
Worse Documentary I've ever seen
I loved The Price is Right, so the premise seemed intriguing. It wasn't. I got an hour of some guy named Ted who managed to memorize prices from a game show. Which could have been interesting, but the dude seems like a loon. His mannerisms are bizarre and the pacing of the documentary was nonsensical. Boring. The only positive was getting to see my man, Bob !!
Mental Samurai (2019)
Ability to be great...but isn't
I gave one episode a watch and I just didn't care for it. The questions are simple, the robot arm is ridiculous and the most infuriating issue is the fact the clock still runs as they are moved around the stage...why? Seconds are wasted moving the contestants from one question to the next. Rob Lowe is great, but it's sad his presence is wasted on such a silly show. My thirteen year old son enjoys it though.
Mary Poppins Returns (2018)
Surprised!
I loved Mary Poppins as a child but, I had no interest in seeing this at all. Imagine my surprise when my 12 year old son asked to go see it. Especially since he has never seen the original and because if it's not Marvel, DC or Anime he couldn't care less.
We saw it today and we both loved it!! Such a sweet and fun movie. Emily Blunt was just a doll and the children were a treasure!! The songs were catchy and the characters were awesome!! So glad I have this one a chance!
Some Assembly Required (2014)
What??
Worst show I've ever seen in my life. If my son chooses to continue to watch this garbage I may have to put him up for adoption. Hopefully by tomorrow he will come to his senses. We are on the first episode. I'm 12 minutes in and I literally can not take it any longer. That laugh track is enough to send you over the edge. Is is necessary to play the laugh track after every other sentence??? This makes me want to cancel Netflix for the rest of my life. The fact that this show has multiple seasons Blows my mind.
