What you need to know, this is a message movie. It is TV movie quality cinema.The acting is better than okay but not great. if your a bad person it will make you feel guilty, if you are a good person it will make you feel good. The message is great but I'm not sure many want to spend an hour and a half listening to a message we already know. The acting and characters are not good enough to make you care enough about the characters to sit thru this. I tried, you can if you want. movie gets a c at most for entertainment value and an A for what it's trying to do. Even tho I feel that Christianity is taking an unfair beating lately while other religions get a pass on everything, this movie is not one that kept my interest nor did i finish watching it.

Okay here is what u need to know about this movie. Not worth paying for at the movies. If I had to sit in a theater for this I'd be mad but at home OK. BUT worth it for Pay per view or to rent. If you liked Blair witch and like science fiction, you will like, not love, this. If you're older and hate Blair witch, the nostalgia of the moon landings will carry you thru. pretty good movie tho not great.

Hints for the real people out there

This film got rave reviews from some people and some people hated it. Here's how to tell who is telling the truth about the film. 1. Skip all reviews that mention the director. No real people go "Wow! Can't wait to see that movie by that director/writer/producer". They go for the actors or the story. So if they are talking about JJ Abrams in there review here ignore it. Some film buff trying to prove he's a film buff. 2. Skip all reviews that seem to have a personal agenda or feel insulted by something in the film. These are people with an issue with some aspect of their life and the something in the film set them off so they will give a bad review.
3. Skip all LOOOOOONG reviews (like this one LOL) Again someone trying to prove they are smarter than they really are.
4. Look for short reviews that tell you how the movie looked, felt and if the story was good/bad confusing etc. A few comments about poor/good script or lines is OK but if they go on about it skip it

So many reviewers here are either schills for the film or have personal agendas to grind or want to show how intelligent they are about films. I'm none of those. so here's my review.I find the short reviews are the most worth reading.
good movie . not a "b" movie. a movie about a paid assassin. remake of a Charles Bronson movie. worth the fee of a theater
and definitely worth a watch on neflix, zune or whatever. But if you don't like a story about a guy that kills people for a living or don't enjoy seeing the cool ways that happens , you may not like it. pretty good character interaction and of course a rewrite of a great script back when these kinds of movies were shocking. you can stop reading here if you want. I will say some opinions on movie reviews. here's what most people want to know. cinematography- does it look like a hi end movie when you watch it, this one- yes; acting - does it seem like it is professional acting, this one - yes does the script flow and seem believable, this one- yes

Why do these idiots that want to remake a great movie always want to ruin it. Do we have to have a crappy sad ending to a movie that originally had an uplifting happy ending? I mean is that how they show their directing/writing/producing talent.I mean really WTF? We have to kill her horse? We have to separate her and cogburn? BTW very few people bitten by rattle snakes die. If you didn't like the original why remake a-hole. The whole thing that made the original great was the relationship built between the 3 people and the happy ending and you take the majority of the good stuff out. You people are stupid. Who wants to pay 20 bucks and leave a theater feeling like s h i t. Dumb asses

I started watching bits and pieces of this. It didn't seem to explain things very well. It felt more like one of those "here's what I think" so i'll interpret the evidence so it will fit my view. So I did some internet searching on this boulter lady
This lady Boulter is a professor or something at Calgary but she also appeared on that coast to coast radio show which is mostly a bunch of nuts so I'm not sure but I think this lady is a little nutty too. Wouldn't believe anything she said without firm credible evidence backing it up from other egyptologists of which I found none.
If you like hippie new age stuff or got an axe to grind on ancient male dominated societies you might like this but if you want real information and explanations on ancient Egypt, I think I'd skip this one.

Wil ferrell is like miracle whip (or the office) either you love his films or you hate em or at least go WTF! I don't get it. To me his films have always been a little stupid, somewhere between too over the top or not enough over the top at the same time.
Some how they have managed to gel it into the right mix with this one where you don't feel like an idiot watching it and it's good. It really feels like wil (and some other SNL latelys) has always wanted to do what John and Dan did with movies but none of them ever got it right mostly using outrageousness to make up for talent. this movie has the feel and the quality/talent of the good SNL movies. Like baby bear's porridge it's not much and not too little, it's just right. I would assume that the director had a lot to do with it. So in conclusion I have to say this should be the beginning of a new career for wil where his movies are funny to all not just to those that "get" him

Mugabe , a BRUTAL DICTATOR, decides to take farmland from white farmers. He intimidates, beats them and drives them out. One family decides to fight in an international court. Idiots! did they not look up the word DICTATOR? So they win the case in court because the mugabe lawyers walk out when they cant get a postponement. then 4 months later mugabe burns the farm to the ground. What the F did they think he was gonna do? Morons!
interesting part was the reviews that said it was one sided documentary. LMAO, well there are people showing their true colors. No matter what Europe did there does not excuse a brutal dictator. So I guess with their logic if their grandfather beat up my grandfather then its OK for me to show up at their doorstep and kick the crap out of them. either they are black and don't want to see themselves (or their race) doing the same thing they blame the whites for in the US or they are whining liberal idiots.
look, that was then this is now. merchants bought slaves from black African tribes who had made slaves of tribes they had conquered or captured. we learned slavery from the African (black) tribes. It was wrong but in the day it was the norm. People didn't know any better. Now we do. Get over it.
Whether mugabe was black and the farmers white or vice versa it is still wrong and mugabe is a brutal dictator that no civilized country would tolerate but because it is blacks abusing whites , well that's OK because they deserve it cuz their great granpa was bad. If Mugabe was white and the farmers black the world would be in an uproar about it. That's the truth no matter how you try to spin it and everyone knows it , some just won't say it.

Well I know why this movie moved thru my area so fast. It could have been a great movie but the ending spoiled it all for me. It could have been a great action/alien movie or a great horror movie. Yes I read the story it came from but I don't remember how it ended. too many things that could have been done one way or another were done neither way. So instead of a real horror movie or an sci-fi action movie it just went flop at the end with an ending so horrible and useless that all you feel is bad after you watch it. I recommend everyone skip this one and i think everyone who saw it did the same thing. That's why it went to video so quick. If you do watch prepare to be disgusted at the end. why can't these movie directors, writers or whoever just give us a good movie to watch? Why do they have to start screwin around with crappy endings just to be "different"? They'd make a lot more money and the public would go see a lot more movies.
