Just the Ticket (1998)
Andie MacDowell can act!
I never really enjoyed Andie MacDowell's acting. I've found her to be stiff, not in character, and have often been uncomfortable just watching her. I often thought she should have stuck to modeling.
This role was different. She was light, refreshing, emotional, and...believable! Andy Garcia was great as usual, and it was nice to see his daughter Daniella in the cast.
I enjoyed it very much despite missing the first half-hour. I'll be looking for it to air again.
This movie has a lot of heart. Watch it!
Do or do not; there is no try. Yoda
Blue Seduction (2009)
Just Awful!
After reading the negative reviews here (with only one positive), I figured I might as well check it out for myself.
Well, THIS woman isn't so nuts about Billy Zane that I was "seduced" into thinking Blue Seduction is anything but horrible. The test audience must have been on more drugs than Zane and Warren's characters combined in this film.
The acting was horrendous and the plot was a mess - all over the place. The only reason I kept watching was because I couldn't believe how bad it was...like a car wreck you can't help but look at.
Not worth your time even WITH a crossword puzzle in your lap.
Stay (2006)
Loved it
Bob Goldthwait? Interesting...
Once you get past the "disgusting thing", this movie makes you think about how honest we are with those we love. How much information is too much? Is withholding something the same as lying? Do we really need to share everything with someone in order to be close with them? Does someone need to know everything about you to truly love you?
I thought it was well written and acted. I don't recall seeing Melinda Page Hamilton before this, but I thought she was great. Her parents also did a good job with their roles.
I'd watch it again.
