Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day (1968)
A real masterpiece!
(CONTAINS SPOILERS!!)
This early Disney movie is a real masterpiece. I love it so much, and I'm sure Walt Disney would have also liked it. This movie is one of the best Disney movies ever.
In this movie, we are introduced to Piglet, and while he flies up in the air, Pooh holds on, like a kite. Since Piglet is in this one a lot, and I like Piglet, I particularly liked this one. The wind blows them through Rabbit's garden, pulling the carrots out of the ground, until they get to Rabbit's house. Owl's house blows down, and Eeyore helps to find a new one.
Next, Pooh meets Tigger, who tells him about threats of thieves who steal honey. Pooh has a dream about Heffalumps and Woozles. When he wakes up, his house is flooded. Piglet's house is flooded, and he writes a message in a bottle. Next, Pooh rescues him accidentally, and has a hero party. Piglet gives up his house for Owl, and Piglet lives with Pooh. They were both heroes.
I especially was happy with certain cast members. In this one, Sterling Holloway is perfect as Pooh, John Fiedler is fabulous as Piglet, and all the other voices are great. Junius Matthews adds a nice touch as Rabbit, and Sebastian Cabot is a good narrator. This movie is highly recommended.
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977)
Great Family entertainment! Contains Spoilers!
This video could not be better. It is great family entertainment. It
is made of four short stories, the new edition, so this is what
happens.
The first story is my favorite. The first, and best, is Winnie the
Pooh and the Honey Tree. Here, Pooh tries to climb the Honey
Tree, and then, he rolls in the mud, with a balloon. My favorite song
is the Little black Rain Cloud song that Pooh sings. In the second
part, he eats so much honey that he can't fit out Rabbit's hole. At
the end, they push so hard to ger him out, he flies right into the
honey tree.
The next one is about a massive flood that floods the Hundred
Acre wood, that all the houses are flooded, and at the end, Pooh
saves Piglet from a Waterfall.
The third one is the one that starts to fall apart and get sloppy.
Here, they try to lose Tigger in the woods, and Rabbit gets lost,
and Tigger gets stuck in a tree.
There are a few things that bother me. For one, Sterling
Holloway's Pooh sounds too old, and in some places, his accent
and voice sounds like a cowboy. Maybe his working with Gene
Autry for so many years changed his good Pooh voice. In Tigger
too, they should have fired him, and hired Hal Smith.
The late (dead) Junius Matthews performs a wonderful
Rabbit, but Sebastian Cabot's narrator in some places, he
whispers too quietly, instead of using a loud enough voice.
If you buy the 20th Anniversary edition, there is another story.
Here, Pooh drops pine cones into the water, to invent a charming
game, Poohsticks. When they find out that it is Eeyore's birthday,
they try their best to make it a special day. They throw him a party
with cake, and they play Poohsticks together.
I hope you enjoy this wonderful collection of Pooh's best
adventures.
Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too (1974)
A great Pooh story, but is missing something. Warning;Contains Spoilers!!
This video is hard to find, and I have been looking to find it for a long time, so I could add it to my Pooh collection. This is a great Pooh story, and the story is so much fun. The Honey Tree, the Blustery Day, and the Day for Eeyore,( even though Day for Eeyore was released later), are better than this. Even though Day for Eeyore was released later and this is older, it is better , because the fist two and the last one are better than this, because two of the best characters are missing. Eeyore did not appear, and Owl did not either. I think that the ones that are missing some of the characters are not as good. In this story, they take Tigger on a long explore to lose him, and Rabbit gets lost, and is scared, and the rest make it back. In the next part, Roo and Tigger get stuck in a tree, and if they help Tigger down, he can not ever bounce again. The story is a little dark and mean.
Despite the characters are absent, this story is still good, and your kids will love it so much. It is great.
Winnie the Pooh Learning: Helping Others (1994)
Not as much fun as the Classics
I have watched this with my friend, and I still think that it is not as much fun as the originals. The story is sort of flat and boring, and all 4 of the short pieces are really not about learning. If you want to watch more enjoyable Pooh stories, they are the Honey Tree, the Blustery Day, Tigger too, and a Day for Eeyore. This did not recapture the original magic of the first four I listed, but my friend watches it and does not seem to mind or notice.
Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree (1966)
Best of the Pooh stories, and FUN!
This is Pooh's first adventure. It is in my opinion, the best of the Pooh offerings. Excellent songs with wonderful animation. It is great for people of all ages. Each character is introduced nicely, and the ideas are fresh and clever. Join Pooh and his friends here for a lot of adventure, involving his love for honey, where he tries to get it from the tree, to when he eats at Rabbit's, and to the end, when he gets all the3 honey he will want. This story is great for everyone. Kids will love it, and will want to see it over and over. A real winner!
Winnie the Pooh and a Day for Eeyore (1983)
A Classic that everyone should own!
This is a classic video that everyone should own. It shows true friendship when the friends make effort to make Eeyore's birthday cheerful. It is a great edition to the Pooh series. The animation is good, the voices are great, the illustrations and color are nice, and the story is entertaining and enjoyable. This video is based on two ideas from the original books by A.A Milne. It is based on a part where Pooh invents a game, and where Eeyore has a party. Out of the four Pooh movies, two, The Honey Tree, and Blustery Day are better than this. One, Tigger too, is not as good, but only by a little bit. This video is so much fun, that adults and kids will watch this over and over. It is great.
