Amen: The Courtship of Bess Richards (1986)
Trivia
It is highly unlikely that Bess Richards, a devout Methodist, would join a Baptist church on a whim. Not only is Bess a Methodist, she is also a lauded Methodist songstress. Even marriage with the expectation of starting a family would take serious contemplation.
Amen: Pilot (1986)
Trivia
In the last scene Dr. Reverend Reuben Gregory suggests that Deacon Ernest J. Frye Esq. Resign his position at the church. It is highly unlikely that a just hired, out of town preacher on job probation would presume to ask the Deacon of the church, whom was reluctant to hire him, to resign a position he's had since he was probably a young man. Especially, a church Reverend Gregory was told Deacon Frye's father was also a Deacon of. Add to that, Rev. Gregory may be aware that the Deacon fired the previous pastor.
Sweating Bullets (1991)
SWEATING BULLETS versus SILK STALKINGS
I used to try to watch this show, which was on cable (I believe USA), late nights ,when it started. But c/d never catch it. It was eventually over-shadowed by SILK STALKINGS. Which it actually predated by a few months.
Star Trek: Voyager: Caretaker (1995)
The Care Taker
Mid-level for Star Trek. VOYAGER is the 3rd installment of THE NEXT GENERATION period series. And at least 1 NEXT GENERATION movie. Not to mention 7 (6 1/2) TOS movies. I won't get into the novellas/novels/books/manuals/fanzines/fanbooks, etc.
(1) First, why would The Caretaker need a mate? What happened to cloning? What was he/she doing for a thousand years?
(2) Why is a star craft that can cross galaxies not artificially intelligent. Capable of manning itself?
(3) How can millennials old beings not terraform a planet? A feat within the reach of late 24th century Federalists, Klingons, Romulans, Ferengi, Cardassians, etc.
(4) Why can't The Caertaker/s upload his/her consciousness(es) into The Array, itself? Ala THE SCHIZOID MAN.
(5) Why didn't The Caretakers build a space armada for the Ocompans? And marshall an Ocompan army? And finally,
(6) Why didn't The Caretaker(s), at least, form an Ocompan-Telaxian alliance. Telaxians, a displaced, merchant, delta-quadrant-space faring, peace loving people. Yet ready to defend themselves & others.
These are the questions Trekkies, THE most dedicated fans in history or at least America, asked.
Buck Rogers in the 25th Century: The Crystals (1981)
The Mummy
A very memorable episode. Highly watchable for the very creepy "boggy-mummy" if nothing else. In hindsight, can't believe they were allowed to air this, in 1980-81. Again, looking back, they must have shown caution in creating a somewhat rubbery, halloweeny mummy costume. Imagine going all the way on an 8 year old, ala' THE FOG or even Boris Karloff. And even still, I remember this ep. being very scarry. A very funny performance by AMANDA WYSS. Although, unintentional. But necessary in the light of a slimmy mummy running around accosting & kidnapping ppl. A few mistakes though. Buck defeats the mummy in hand-hand combat, even though the mummy ripps apart a door made of esp. strong alloys. Even for the very late 25th century. Also, Buck stays behind on a spooky, mysterious planet. Possibly, haunted by grotesque mummies. And Colonel Derring/Hawk not protesting. Or Hawk & a compliment of Searcher security police accompanying him. To end, this ep. is somewhat stimulating as it has a warped yet entrolling take on biology.
Star Trek: The Cloud Minders (1969)
Gas Masks
The citizens of Stratos, the cloud city, are amazed by the gas masks Kirk & Mc Coy give them. And of the theory of invisible gases in the caves. Yet, cloud city citizens are able to materialize & dematerialize persons to, from & about Stratos under their own technology. They show no impression at witnessing Kirk & Spock materialize on their promenade. And they have ray guns, energy torture apparatie & live on a perpetually floating vast city comprised of towering skyscrappers. They are celebrated philosophers, artists & scientists. Rivaling even VULCAN.
Soap (1977)
Danny Campbell & Chester Tate
Error Made By A Character: Danny Campbell's reaction to learning that he is Chester Tate's son is puzzling as he has never shown any aboration towards Chester. Even with the knowledge of Chester's infidelaty, snobbery & murder of Peter Campbell.
