Rubbish!!
25 July 2013
I have always enjoyed the Die Hard films so I naturally wanted to see this latest instalment. Well, what a turkey this was..awful from start to finish. At no point did it ever truly feel like a Die Hard film. Yes the action sequences may have looked flashy but that was about it. It was boring, uninteresting and, well..just plain rubbish really. Big disappointment as, like I said I've always enjoyed the DH films. Even Bruce Willis didn't really seem interested with the source material put in front of him. The baddies weren't really baddies, there was no excitement, no suspense and no emotional impact at all. I think Hollywood needs a major overhaul with script writers because the majority of scrips turned out these days are terrible and this is what lets films down the most. Just look at the ABSOLUTELY AWFUL Man of Steel released a few weeks ago, TOTAL AND UTTER PANTS and another HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. I'm still reeling from that one now! If you are a lover of the DH film franchise, don't bother with this latest offering..you will be disappointed. Bring back John McTiernan I say!

A fantastic ride!
15 May 2013
I'd like to start by saying that Star Trek Into Darkness, after Man of Steel, was probably my most anticipated film of 2013. I'm not a die-hard Trekkie but I have always enjoyed Star Trek and have always gone to see each new film in the cinema.

Quite simply I really enjoyed Into Darkness, it was one hell of a ride and a fantastic follow-up to the previous film in 2009. Amazing action, as always jaw dropping realistic effects and a great story combined with a wonderful cast of actors made this one of the biggest movie events this year! I found myself anything but bored sitting through this one. It was exciting, thrilling and action packed. The references and hark backs to the previous film were very cleverly integrated into this film as well and they are always nice to see.

All in all a great film which will be another to add to my collection. Really enjoyed it :)

A sheer delight from beginning to end!
24 January 2009
I just want to say very briefly that Slumdog Millionaire is a very beautiful film, I absolutely loved it. If you have not yet seen this film in the cinema and you are thinking about it then I urge you to stop thinking and go see it! You will not be disappointed. This film has everything - epic romance at its heart, emotion in bucket-loads, action, drama, tension and tragedy. Having been bitterly disappointed by my last two film outings at the cinema..i won't mention their names as they are not worthy of it..i'll just say that one of them was about a guy in a silly bat suit with a silly voice and the other was about a guy who works for the British Secret Service. Both of these films were total rubbish, boring and a total waste of my time and money and sitting through them had dulled my enthusiasm big-time for seeing anything else on the big screen. Seeing Slumdog Millionaire though has totally blown these 'dulled' feeling away and so at last I am back, revelling in the after glow of seeing such a brilliant, beautifully made film. Slumdogs director - Danny Boyle and his team of film makers deserve every award they receive.

It was so refreshing to watch a film where it was all up there on the big screen, a film where you absolutely get your money's worth, a film after which when you walk from the theatre you have this wonderful, satisfying feeling flowing through you. All credit to the excellent cast, they are all truly great actors some of which were only as young as seven years old. The photography, the direction, the acting, the storyline..all of it was simply fantastic. I have read that Slumdog Millionaire is the feel good film of the decade and, having just seen it, I totally agree. Please take my advice and go see it!

Load of rubbish!!
24 August 2008
BORING, UNEXCITING, TEDIOUS, OVERLONG and UNINTERESTING..only a few choice words I can think of off hand to describe this total and utter let-down of a film that everyone else seems to be raving about! What a load of absolute rubbish, it was a total waste of time from start to finish.

I had originally decided not to see this film having not overly enjoyed Batman Begins but gave in in the end due to all the hype and the fact that it had soared to the No 1 spot in the IMDb database. I was absolutely shocked and amazed by this, how it can go ahead of such BRILLIANT films as SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION and STAR WARS i'll never know, not to mention the masterpiece of LORD OF THE RINGS! I see TDK is currently in the No 3 position, all I can say is that I only hope it continues to drop places.

To put things in perspective I wish I hadn't of bothered with TDK..within ten minutes I was sitting there in the cinema yawning my head off! For one thing I had difficulty understanding many of the sentences the characters were saying and for another the whole film just didn't hold my attention. I thought Christian Bale was boring and wooden in his role of Batman, with that silly voice when he's in the suit to match. Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine were fine as always but utterly underused. If their is one shred of goodness in this film through my eyes it would be for Heath Ledger as the Joker. His untimely death shortly after the making of this film did, i'll admit, help spur me on to see TDK and, after all the hype put out for his performance he certainly didn't disappoint. He truly stole every scene he was in and so deserves every credit he gets. He was a great young actor who will be sadly missed.

I just can't believe how so many people love this film so much, what is the matter with all of you?!? No disrespect to any other IMDb reader/writer of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion but mine is one star for this film and one star only. TDK was the worst film of the summer for me, Wall-e was better by far! At least that film had bags of imagination, character development and story. This had nothing, even the action sequences were uninteresting and flat. It was so overlong too that, after a while, I was silently shouting at the screen - "COME ON, GET ON WITH IT".

I will NEVER see another Batman film again in the cinema, I don't care what level the hype meter goes to. I knew this would be crap and it was.

By the way, in case your wondering, my one star rating is for Heath Ledger's performance and for it alone.

The Force is still with us..great fun!
17 August 2008
I have to say that I really enjoyed Star Wars Clone Wars, it was great entertainment from start to finish. Have to say that I agree and disagree with some of the other comments on here though..being a long time Star Wars fan I take every opportunity to catch any SW's film upon its release on the big screen, be it live action or animated.

Having loved the original trilogy of the 70's and 80's, there was no way on earth that I was going to miss out on this new episode of the saga. I saw it yesterday and dragged a group of mates with me! We all really enjoyed it.

For one thing I thought the animation was stunning, it was beautiful to watch and I found that my eyes were glued to the screen throughout. The sound effects were brilliant also and overall its clear to see that the film makers have poured their heart and soul into this project. Yes the soundtrack doesn't have the genius of John Williams behind it but this is minor setback. John Williams has always been and will always be my favourite composer but, to be honest, I thought the music was OK, it didn't drown out the film or the characters in the slightest. The action was non-stop throughout and it was brilliant to be plunged head first once again into the Star Wars universe.

I couldn't help smiling to myself and feeling that familiar tingle at the back of neck when those iconic blue words appeared on the screen - A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... Star Wars rules! I'm not going to say anything regarding plot as it seems everyone else on here has done so. I'll just say that if you are looking to be entertained for 98 minutes then Clone Wars is for you, go see it.

As for me, I can't wait for the TV series now, bring it on!
