Napoleon (2023)
4/10
A bad movie in almost every aspect
14 January 2024
I don't know how to express my disappointment after watching this Napoleon (The latest legendary Ridley Scott's movie). If there weren't for some acceptable war scenes, this movie was totally rubbish and disrespectful to history, to Napoleon himself and to the French. I don't even know where to start.1- Joaquin Phoenix is a good actor but not for this complicated role (for comparison watch Desiree 1954, Marlon Brando as Napoleon) 2- A complex part of history was narrated in disconnected sections in such an immature way that ruined the whole history. 3- The deep relationship between Napoleon and Josephine was narrated and illustrated with rather extreme superficiality. 4- The events were not even historically accurate.

I wish he hadn't made this movie.

It was fun that's all
4 February 2022
It was not an important or serious movie, neither from scientific nor from storytelling point of views. It was just amusing. A Hollywood apocalyptic cliché movie that wants to keep everyone happy at the end. CGI and special effects were good. Acting was mediocre (two main characters) and sometimes awfully bad (everyone else). Honestly I expected more from Roland Emmerich when I saw his name as the director. Apparently he repeated his 2009 movie "2012" in a different way but unfortunately not in a better way.

One of the finest movies of an immortal epic story

What an excellent movie. What a brilliant costume design and acting. Peter O'Toole and Brad Pitt were great in this movie.

Why I like the Crown Tv series
19 November 2020
Although the Crown Tv series does not convey a great story and sometimes seem a little bit boring but it is a well-written and well-made one. Cinematography is very good. Design and performances are really good. All-in-All it is a pleasing visual experience. Olivia Colman is a great actress but I still think Claire Foy was a much better choice for the Queen's role and I regret she left the tv series.

An amazing movie
7 February 2020
Parasite is an exceptional, innovative and unforgettable movie in expression and form. Movie music is quite fit and suitable in every scene. It elaborates the dark side of social disparity masterfully. I have not seen such a intense and impressive movie for a long time.

A beautiful movie
10 January 2020
Little Women (2019) is a wonderful movie from every aspect. It has a powerful story, superb acting and beautiful costumes and design. Moreover, it seems to me that I am flipping the pages of a painting book. Every scene looks like a beautiful canvas.

The Marriage Story is an exceptionally good movie. The story is amazing, actings are so good and so genuine. Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson are brilliant.

A rubbish movie
20 December 2019
What is this nonsense movie?? Except the legendary John Williams' music which is still the best part of the movie, Star Wars movies have got worse and worse during the past decade . So superficial, so empty and so cliche. A bunch of nonsense, childish scenes are put together under the name of Star Wars. I don't know how to describe my frustration and disappointment. What is wrong with our movie industry these days? Where are the legendary actors and actresses? Where are the amazing stories and storytellers?

An Unforgettable Masterpiece
22 November 2019
As what you would expect the "Irishman" is a superb movie. A Masterpiece of acting, directing, storytelling and cinematography. Once again masters are together. Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci and Al Pacino are all amazing so powerful even. Pacino is wonderful, so natural as if he is in his prime. It's a three and a half hour movie but it worth it.

Not a scary movie and definitely not a good movie
1 October 2019
Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark(2019) is not a good movie at all. Maybe funny for very young audiences as they laugh most of times in the movie. Using a couple of odd creatures, semi-dark rooms and cobwebs in a nonsense atmosphere don't make a movie scary. Save your money and watch what is really worth it.

7.5, A great Sci-Fi movie
20 September 2019
AD Astra is a great Sci-Fi movie. Very beautiful specially from technical and acting aspects. The camerawork is fantastic. Talented Brad Pitt is in one of his highest forms. Although "Interstellar (2014)" has still placed itself firmly at the top of the Sci-fi genre list next to the Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) I believe technical achievements and Pitt's superb presence has made this movie a masterpiece of a kind.

Arctic is a jem
7 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Arctic is a great movie and Mads Mikkelsen is amazing. In the harsh barren frozen world of the modern world, a pilgrim struggles to survive. This frozen lonely world lacks everything this human being needs to rescue his moribund soul. The morals, the human touch, the endless effort, and above all, hope are all necessary. Then in his pilgrimage there is an accident, a revelation. If he is going to survive, he must keep his beautiful dying soul (the girl) alive. When he gets tired and disappointed of this heavy burden, he leaves his soul behind thinking it is dead and he can move faster without it ...maybe... we are not sure. It is a big mistake that he soon acknowledges and regrets it. In the last moments, unnoticed by rescuers, he lifts his semi-conscious soul up as a witness or as the only valuable reason to convince the rescuers to help. It's the sad story of the modern human beings who are individually trapped in the darkness of the digital world abyss and have lost almost all their hope and humanistic relationships. We should hold tight to the remaining part of the rope before it gets away entirely from our grasp.

Overlord (2018)

Definitely disappointing
7 December 2018
The movie starts with an impressive opening of aerial operation during WWII ( Don't get me wrong it is nowhere near what you have in mind from masterpieces such as Saving Private Ryan, Enemy At the Gate or Dunkirk). However, after 15-20 minutes all the hope for watching a decent movie fades away and it turns to a nonsense Hollywood cliche with a ridiculous predictable plot.

Lucifer's Season 3 is indeed a downgrade
14 October 2018
The first 2 seasons were funny and really something. However the third season is indeed many steps back and I am kind of not interested in following the story. Unfortunately It has lost its way in the third season. I don't know why ?

A well worth movie
14 September 2018
A promising, beautiful and truly well worth drama-thriller movie about pros and cons of using internet and social media. The importance of deeper understanding of family relationships and being vigilant about it in ups and downs of life. I liked its closed shot photography from the camera point of view.

Not worth watching
7 September 2018
Far far away from the "Conjuring" movies let alone masterpieces of the genre. Truly unsuccessful in creating horror scenes. More like a comedy than a horror movie of a genre. Worst players ever except the young man "Frenchy" with some reasonable acting skills. Full of cliches. Wish I had never watched it.

Nowhere near the first movie
29 July 2018
A flashy movie which raises hopes at the beginning and soon after it starts punching your face with disappointment and completes its death dance by bringing CHER into the movie. A totally meaningless appearance.

Not worthy to get Oscar
5 March 2018
So disappointing, lack of original thought and story. Full of unnecessary cliches. I really don't know how it could get Oscars for directing and best motion pictures while Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Dunkirk and Getout were there. You can't create love just by adding French songs to the scenes. So disappointing.

Jason Bourne (I) (2016)

A good Action but not very good
4 August 2016
Although I gave 7 out of 10 to the new Bourne movie (2016) and it is still a movie that I highly recommend it to my friends as a good action movie, but I have to admit that the movie is not as superb as the previous trilogy movies that were based on Robert Ludlum fascinating books. Here and there there are some obvious flaws in story-line and unfortunately it is not impeccable like the previous Bourne movies. A fast-pacing movie with good editing, acceptable reconstruction of the demonstrations in front of the Greece Parliament and Vegas streets scenes are of the advantage points of the movie. I like Matt Damon's attitude, acting style and professionalism and Alicia Vikander (Danish Girl) has demonstrated herself as a capable and versatile actress. She is quite good in her role in spy genre.
