Reptile (2023)
just.. couldn't press the back button...
Well, this is a slow paced thriller and if you're not in the mood you might just press that button. I tried several times but i just got caught so much into the story that I continued with the pace of this movie. It's not just the genre but the actors in it are one of my favourites. Watching Benecio Del Toro has always been satisfying, and that is why I continued for the entire runtime. The direction and the acting couldn't be better. Justin add to that as well with his performance. Overall, a great thriller if you're willing to spend the time on it. Good storyline and great acting and direction. To sum up, grab some patience and sit through this, you'll not regret it.
Bambai Meri Jaan (2023)
what a great take on the biggest rivalry..
I understand few folks are comparing this to gangs of wasseypur. Well, no offense, these millenials need to know the history before writing a review. The greatest rivarly that ever existed in Mumbai between Haji and D Company was well showcased in this 10 episode event. Hats off to the director and writers. Although, my review is also based on the news and movies I have seen over the years on this feud, nonetheless, this was a great entertainer. Nicely written combined with pace. Anybody who knows Mumbai knows what this story was. I hope this series receives much better ratings in order to encourage those fearless writers and producers to come forth and convert little known facts into public knowledge.
Breathe: Into the Shadows (2020)
Season 1 is a drag
A well known disorder could be quite done with 5 minute fragments in 3-4 episodes. 12 episode strech for a merely 7-8 episode storyline felt slow and non-captivating.
Although, the entire plot rests on a cliche, there have been improvements and creativity seen in recent productions across Hollywood and Bollywood. This title failed to achieve that surprise element.
Amit Sadh was in character while Abhishek failed to meet expectations on such a powerful presence. Maybe, it was the directing as I'm a big fan of AB.
Nonetheless, my rating is 6 just beacuse the acting and direction missed finesse in a lot of scenes. With a strong pilot and a spinoff from Breathe (Madhavan), it was supposed to be thrilling and a captivating one, only to realize it wasn't.
