The Invisible (2007)
9/10
An awesome movie
24 August 2009
The invisible is one of those movies that you walk into expecting something totally different, and the movie doesn't fail. Loosely following the theme of The Sixth Sense, the Invisible is less darker and delves into deep character study of the protagonist and the antagonist all the while providing enough twists to the plot that one hangs onto his seat anticipating the next twist. Those who couldn't appreciate this beautiful movie are either too realistic or action/horror obsessed. Justin Chatwin as Nick Powell is just awesome, portraying the frustration and desperation with finesse, extracting sympathy for the 'perfect' teenager. Margarita Levieva as Annie Newton is also fantastic as her character undergoes transformation and redemption through the course of the movie. The Invisible dares to chose a different path from the typical and comes out with flying colors. If you liked Sixth Sense, you are going to love this one.

what's wrong with you guys
23 August 2009
Hey folks, 3.3/10 is definitely not what this movie deserves. What do you wish to see in an adaptation of anime or comics on big screen? Just the characters coming to life? That is the case with watchmen and i can see how highly it scores credited to the 2 and half hour long frustrating plot all the while sticking to the source material. Dragonball evolution was discarded by fans because they can't get over a notion that a live adaptation of the best anime ever is impossible. It certainly isn't dark and wily as the dark knight. Rather the movie focuses on high paced action sequence with humor that was the flavor of the anime. Where the movie loses is its very short runtime, average cinematography, and a short and average end fight sequence, when the first few action scenes seemed so promising. Chatwin does a fair portrayal of the cheesy, innocent hero Goku (when was it said he is Asian anyway in the anime?). And about that whole goku going to school thing, doesn't gohan go to school later in the anime? So what's the harm in making some improvisations, otherwise what would be the point of watching something that you know everything about. Roshi's character is just as colorful as in the anime. With some better cgi effects, the movie could really have been awesome. Give it a try with an open mind and without any notions, guys.

A Worthy adaptation and portrayal
16 July 2009
With the last two installments the harry potter franchise has lived up to the ingenious storytelling genius of J.K.Rowling. The half blood prince has an added flavor of humor to it which was the only characteristic missing from Rowling's novels. A brilliant adaptation of the book adds some scenes and deletes some of them but still does justice to the plot. The effects are awesome and though the ending lacked in intensity compared to the order of phoenix, there isn't a dull moment in this 2 nd half hour long movie. Alan Rickman as Severus Snape easily steals the show with other actors portraying their characters with equal finesse. A Must watch for everyone. Highly recommended

A disgrace for Hollywood
9 July 2009
Warning: Spoilers
This is perhaps the worst movie i've watched for some pretty long time. As the movie progressed, i felt like slicing my head off just the way a henchman slices his nipples in da movie. After the movie, i wondered whether they had tried to make a spoof on crank 1. The hazy camera angles which are shaky to the extent u feel it was made by a school kid. The scenes are ridiculous just as the concept. I wouldn't watch the movie again even if i were paid for it. The movie's not adult material, its plain creepy and a disgrace for Hollywood. Takin statham's heart out while he's watching, replacing it with a plastic heart, statham charging himself with electricity(with sex on 1 occasion) every few minutes are some scenes that make u start feeling dizzy the moment you see them. Even the boobs and flesh cant do anything 4 the movie. Statham's antiques could bring superman to shame. I suggest why didn't chelios buy a pack of replaceable batteries and engulf them every time the need arose. Lol.
