So much potential...
9 May 2003
...but it falls flat. Granted there are at least a half dozen cuts of this movie and I have only seen Troy Miller and the Studio cut of it. That being said it is so bad. It's the same joke for 90 minutes with a few nuggets of comedic gold, they are few and far between and don't save the movie as a whole.

After cutting it and shelving it for the last 2 and a half years apparently New Line is planning to try and cash in on the release of Mr. Show Season 3 DVD in August. The release date for the RRR DVD is 9/16/03 and it will most likely be the Studio Cut I have seen with very few extras. If your a fan of low-brow, dumb dumb, stupid movies you might like. However; fans or Mr. Show and Bob and David's previous work will be left extremely disappointed.

Even Bob and David themselves are completly embarassed about the way this movie turned out. They asked the studio to not release it and begged fans to stop asking about it, so New Line decided to do the opposite. I sincerly hope that first time viewers will not think this is the apex of Bob and David's talents as comedic artists because it simply isn't.

That being said while the script and jokes tend to fall flat the performances are actually pretty decent. Bob's Terry and David's Ronnie definately have excellent and David Koechner's Clay as the narrator and Ronnie's friend steals almost every scene he is in and leads to probably the best running joke of the movie.

I can't emphasize enough that this movie is not a Mr. Show fan friendly movie. Watch it only as a goof and don't expect too much in the way of laughs. I'll give it ** out of ***** mainly due to Koechner, Cross and Odenkirk's performance.

The Greatest Film most people will never see.
4 December 2002
Michael Moore bowls a strike with his latest documentary about gun-violence and the culture of fear and paranoia which grip the United States and it's citizenry everyday.

Already becoming the highest-grossing documentary in history, a feat it accomplished in 4 weeks, it has now also added a National Review Board award for best documentary to go with the only Unanimous Jury award handed out at the Cannes' Film Festival in 55 years.

Finding the film near you unfortunately is easier said than done since it is only playing in roughly 220 theaters throughout North America. In addition to the fact it has received very little attention from the major media outlets. Possibly, due to the fact he uses the film to point out their nature of reporting violent crimes more often even when crime was on a downturn.

The movie has some off points including Moore's tendency to jump off topic at times. This film does not deal with the gun control or guns solely, but focuses on the more important issue at hand why do we use guns the way we do? and Why do we as Americans have so much fear of our fellow citizens?

Moore never explains why he just points us in several directions he feels are noteworthy and could lead us to an answer. Overall, I give this film a 9/10

Great Film.

I see many people have chosen to bash this film about what it has done to Flint, and Moore himself for not caring about Flint. The only reason Moore made the film was to draw attention to the situation going on in his hometown. He did not do this with malice he did it with empathy towards his fellow citizens.

If you had seen The Big One you would realize Moore has done a lot of things to try and help Flint get back on it's feet and defended the city itself quite a bit. He tried to get Nike to open a factory their to provide jobs. When Phil Knight wouldn't he made him agree to match him $10,000 in donations towards the Flint School System.

He didn't make this film to destroy Flint, he made it to try and wake people up and prevent it from happening elsewhere in the world. I don't understand why you would be upset at Moore for bringing attention to a problem and then taking the time throughout the years to try and help. He can't fix Flint, Michigan or America by himself. That is why he makes these films and books.

To show the people a problem he thinks is serious enough for all of us to address and try to fix. I don't agree with all of Moore's opinions but blasting such a great film over some personal issue you have with him really does nothing to get your point across. I give the film an 11/10
