Deserves more love than it got!
What a great movie! Completely loved this one. Amazing direction, great acting, great cinematography - everything is so perfect about this movie. It's much more than a teen movie. So many intense emotions, such difficult circumstances, so beautifully shown. I do not see why many people complained about the pace of the story. I think it deserved a lot of praise that it got. Must must watch.
Sound of Metal (2019)
A treat to watch!
This is such a beautiful movie. Some moments are so intense, you will fall in love with the characters. I had never really tried to fit in a mind-frame of a person with hearing issues but the movie had so many moments which leaves you disturbed, makes you aware of how difficult thing could be. But, then eventually the way it has portrayed that hearing loss is not a disability for many people but a way of life, is incredible. The love story of Ruben and Lou is really delightful. Riz Ahmed shines in this one.
Ludo (2020)
One of the best movies in recent years
What a plot! Hats off to Anurag Basu for creating this gem of a movie. I can't really understand why some people have given it low ratings. It's such a flawlessly made comedy of errors. Great cast took things to different level. I enjoyed every bit of this laugh riot.
Beautiful Boy (2018)
Such a powerful movie. Highly recommended.
The movie deals with the drug addiction situation and how it shatters families and takes away a lot of time who are fighting along. The people around you are going to get affected by the choices you make. They have sleepless nights. They suffer along but they don't give up. Sometimes you think nothing is going to work but then there is always faith which keeps you going, there is this bond of love which does not let anyone give up on the others. People fight, they fail but they keep on fighting and they do see the sunshine.
The movie is a story of triumph. The father son relationship is really complex. The father, the pillar of the family, has to be strong and he can't let the emotions appear so as to make him look weak. Steve Carell has played such a lovely and a very composed role. Chalamate is just as brilliant. There are a lot of intense tear-jerking moments in the movie that will make you love it more and more. The cinematography is really done well. Good choice of songs to fill in the moments. Its definitely a must watch movie.
Honey Boy (2019)
Shia LaBeou, you beauty!!
Always thought Shia to be a good actor but never realised he can do so well. Such a great movie, so nicely written and what a great acting talented is he. The chemistry of father son so complicated yet so beautifully potrayed. The story is painful, daring, intense, complex and powerful. It's one of those unforgettable movies which you will mention whenever you are thinking about good movies. Don't miss it.
Manyeo (2018)
Wow, such a great entertainer!
I stumbled upon this movie and decided to watch without any prior review reading and boy did it surprise. This movie has a very good plot. It initially looks like a normal teen movie but builds up very well. It has got a lot of action, plot twists and a lot of thrilling moments. The action is top notch, fast paced and not something you come across very often. Such a great build up for the second part, I am definitely excited for it.
A Vida Invisível (2019)
Memorable Movie!
What a great movie it is! So beautiful in every sense. It's a very touching journey of two sisters who got separated and had to live separately without knowing each other's existence for a very very long time. Their emotional journey, the struggle and the pain they endure have been filmed so well. The representation of the patriarchy structure of society where the females struggle to live their dreams and how they put their everything for the family, has been shown very nicely. The journey through Brazil of 50's is very beautiful. A must watch!
Lootcase (2020)
A great fun ride
After a long long time, I have seen a fun filled Bollywood flick. What a fun movie! All the actors are top notch, so acting wise it's really great. The storyline has been managed really well. There was a time I thought the movie would lose it's plot but it has been pulled off really well and the end is really decent. You will surely love it. Plus, the fact that in this movie, there are actors who can really act, will make you fall in love with the movie. Vijay Raaz is a treat to watch. I wish to see him more often. Kunal khemu, Ranveen Shorey and Gajraj Rao, everyone has a played their parts really well.
Dil Bechara (2020)
Emotional Ride
It was really hard to hold on to the tears while watching this one, but could not control towards the end and the end was a torrential rain for me. It's a joyride watching how the chemistry develops between the two leads. Sushant is ever cheerful. Sanjana has also done quite good as she combines her emotions with both fear and joy. Really enjoyed this one.
Panchayat (2020)
Brilliant show
This show is so so beautiful. The depiction of village is really rare. There is attention to each and every details. The characters are so lively and they fit in so well. Really a work of genius. Those eight episode seemed so less. I hope the next season comes really soon.

Thrilling and Intense
Brilliant movie. The script is so crude and raw in every sense. It depicts how the social hierarchy is in existence in the most of the part of our country and helps reminding that everyone is equal in the eye of law. Great script. Great direction. Ayushman, as always, has perfected the role. And everyone else has acted very nicely. The nuances of rural India has been shown in the most perfect way. It was such a great experience watching this one. Must watch for everyone.
Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019)
Intense movie!!
One of the best movies based on the Indian Army. The movie is very intense and gripping because of its nature. It will keep you pumped up throughout. The direction is great along with the whole cast. The whole setup is very realistic. Don't go for the critics reviews, they are mostly misleading. Just go and watch it.
Jai Hind!!!!
K.G.F: Chapter 1 (2018)
Mind Blowing Movie
I am not very keen on watching South Indian movies as I have watched very few of them. But this movie has totally blown my mind. I was in awe after watching this movie. What a perfect movie!!! I went crazy after the movie ended. I have asked everyone around me to watch this movie and witness the greatness. Acting, cinematography, direction, story every thing so perfect about this movie. The Hindi dubbing did not bother me at all as I was so much engrossed in the moment I never thought it was a non-Hindi movie. I am very sure everyone will love this movie. The team must have put a mammoth effort in this movie and it is our turn to give back the love and appreciation it deserves.
Mirzapur (2018)
Promising first season
After pulling of couple of great Indian series, Amazon has not disappointed yet again. The caste of Mirzapur is amazing. Everyone has done a great justice to their roles. The story which initially seemed weak, shaped up really well towards the end. However, the story line could have been better. Let's wait and see what the next season has to offer.
Badhaai ho (2018)
Fun packed family flick
The movie is a superb joyride with moments of fun and tears. The story line, well very different, essentially teaches how family bonding is important. All the cast do great justice to their roles. More than a comedy movie, it is a lovely family drama.
Mulk (2018)
Times when you should not follow IMDB ratings blindly
I was excited about the movie watching its trailer but such low rating on IMDb had me in doubts. I am glad I finally watched this solid movie. Tapsi delivers such a good performance along with all other actors in the movie. Very well directed movie indeed. Things could have been better but in the end you leave the cinema satisfied. Please watch the movie and get the message it tries to convey. Jai Hind.
Karenjit Kaur - The Untold Story of Sunny Leone (2018)
Such a pathetic show
Please avoid it. I don't understand why the producers tried to pull off this biopic. She wanted to be a pornstar, nothing forced her to be one. She did not have to struggle for anything. There is no spice to this story. The only thing that could have been put right was an array of good actors which they missed miserably and the result is cheap pathetic show.
Barfi! (2012)
Barfi - The New Face Of Indian Cinema
What will you remember the year 2012 for? I shall ever remember it for some of the greatest movies our quality deprived Indian Cinema produced. Seems like all the film-makers have suddenly realized that all good work requires nothing but self-revelation. And they are working on it - producing results which the human race would have never expected of. They have suddenly realized that experience can let you experiment and that if it turns out to be successful, can lead you to a perfect evolution. Time's evolving. Yes the process has been little slow, but look what its fetching you. For those who used to believe in the power of cinema must be feeling very relieved, so am I.
It would be very derogatory for me to talk anything about Barfi. If I start talking about it, may be I run out of words, because doing so is simply a gargantuan task. Someone once said - "There are two types of films: those that employ the resources of the theater (actors, direction, etc...) and use the camera in order to reproduce; those that employ the resources of cinematography and use the camera to create". I say there exits a third category which involves the both in an appropriate proportion and produces something miraculous, something beyond imagination. Barfi is a combined effort of an immaculate direction, a great script and some never seen before acting. Gone are those days when it used to take a cheapo to cry in a direction-less movie and get applauds from the lost souls. You now need to have a proper substance and then only you can leave an indelible imprint on the million minds.
When it comes to portray disability on the celluloid, it takes something more than humanitarian efforts for the entire crew. The characters have to speak with their eyes, their movements must speak. The direction has to be impeccable. Not a single emotion should escape the mind of the audience - immersive - so should be the power of expression. An autistic person's role has to be the most difficult and needs a sorcerer's touch. I am simply reminded of Dustin Hoffman's role in Rain Man and Priyanka Chopra played it no less exceptional - one of the most touching performances I have ever seen. Ranbir Kapoor has properly fit himself in any kind of role he has ever been assigned. He is mute yet so expressive, funny yet so touching. And the love-story of these two disables has been so wonderfully and subtly knitted that once you are entangled you have no escape.
Burfi opens to you doors to an ethereal world created through a poetic imagination. With all these excellence the team might have fetched themselves numerous awards already and yet again set examples for all the aspiring actors and directors. All it takes for them to align to the same trend. Its the time we can see cinema riding the path of Resurrection. We were never out of talent but the ideas were just lacking. Movies like Kahaani, Paan Singh Tomar, Barfi and others have shown to the world how much potential we carry. With a sudden out-pour of fresh new ideas for last few months, the faith in cinema has certainly been restored. We can expect more and more stunners in coming times to blow and boggle our minds.
The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
The Dark Knight Rises : A Cinematic Epitome
Have you ever imagined what lies beyond the point where our mind stops thinking? Has it ever occurred to you that mind is very fragile and that it can withhold pressure to some certain extent? And have you ever thought what Cinema can do to you? Cinema holds the capacity to motivate the generations, to change minds and do not take me wrong it holds the capacity to manipulate masses. Cinema can take us to the infinity - a place about which our mind can never imagine. We are living in a world where we have to derive pleasure out of what we believe in. Cinema has earned itself beliefs and faiths of mankind over a century and so and there are some demigods who make sure that this string of faith and belief never breaks.
Christopher Nolan is one such demigod who has never failed his followers. Movie to movie he has outdone himself. He has been pushing the viewers closer to experience of infinite level every time and this time he has hit the infinity with The Dark Knight Rises. We do not know where infinity is but he has surely achieved it. Such presentation, such grandeur, such chaos - who would have ever thought to experience this much? I never had and nor the whole fraternity did ever. The Dark Knight Rises is a cinematic phenomenon which could have never been imagined. Nolan has a great vision. A gift from Nolan to all who believe in cinema. Simply epic.
The movie had some great breath-taking performances. Christian Bale has done every bit of justice to the Batman role. The Catwoman was simply fabulous. She though initially seems an unnecessary character but has a great role to play. The movie saw the birth of the greatest villain in the history of cinema - Bane. So so powerful. Such a terrifying character. He will shatter your every expectation. Let's not compare him to the Joker, but I can certainly say no one else could play the Bane's role better. With a haunting creepy voice and great build-up his character has threatened Batman too much. And Hans Zimmer is a God himself. Music is one of most important aspect of this movie. Zimmer has given his best shot with this one. The music will keep you pumping every time.
This movie is a perfect masterpiece which contains every element of a great movie-making. No flaws whatsoever. It will keep you connected with the characters, with the story and puzzling your mind about what's going to happen next. For the entire time you will feel like you are taking a ride to some world else. You will be stunned- moment to moment, time to time. You can not complain about your mind's inability to not to grasp what all you are dished out on the screen. Eventually the movie will have you wholly satisfied and relaxed leaving no doubts at all. What a perfect way to finish what Nolan had started in 2005 with Batman Begins! I can just go on and on and talk about this movie for my whole life. Nolan has set a perfect cinematic epitome for all other film-makers. Let's see what future has in it for us. But it would seriously take a lot of potential to beat this legend Nolan has created.
The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)
Nothing amazing in The Amazing Spider-Man, blame it on the script
Mr. Director ! You are such a noob and you have proved it very well. Who in the world would make a movie with such ludicrous script? When you are creating a movie, a Super-hero movie, then you should very well keep in mind that there are others as Iron Man, Bat Man and The Avengers against whom you have to stand. Every thing needs to be fantabulous. No flaws. And this is what you came up with.
The most distinguishing difference between Sam Raimi, the director of earlier Spider-man movies and Marc Webb, director of the new one is that the later one is fresh out of college of direction and has a lot to areas to work upon. Sam Raimi has proved a lot by offering a wide range of genre of cinema. And that's exactly why a monstrous challenge for Webb grew up. The Amazing Spider-Man was a great onus that was put on, let's say, an immature shoulders of Webb and there's where everything falters. In the world where we have Nolan and Joss Whedon, this guy did not find a perfect spot even to stand up.
Let's talk about the movie. All characters played there parts very well. A great justice to all the characters has been done. No one could be a better choice than Garfield for the lead role. Garfield is intense, smart and a genuine charm he carries with himself. Simply flawless. He brings a perfectionist's touch to the Spider-man's character. The girl, Emma Stone, has done an outstanding work. I have always adored her. I was never fond of Mary Jane who would always cry and carry a rather shabby personality. The then Peter-Jane love story was all just stupid. Here is a brand new genial love story with a girl you'd always dream of. She is smart, sassy and a perfect fit for Mr. Parker. Other characters - Parker's uncle, his aunt, the doctor and the girl's father, everyone did well.
The direction was not that great and the poor script extinguished all the fire the director thought of putting in the movie. The movie were meant to be grand one considering its superb characterization and some breath-taking effects but the script ruined it all. The expectations from this movie were bit higher. Spider-man 4 was scrapped because Raimi could not find a great plot. Five years' wait and we thought we would get some great kicks but sadly nothing much was dished out.
Watch the movie for the effects and the fresh new characters. Do not expect anything extraordinary otherwise you will end up disappointing yourself as I did.
Gangs of Wasseypur (2012)
Welcome to Wasseypur
I am a great movie buff, one of the greatest around. A great proclivity for cinema I have got. I have been a sincere fan of Martin Scorsese's works, all of them. I believe that a great director can put all the elements of greatness in a movie and make it reach the epitome of cinema. He can set fire to water if there is a natural demand for it. Not the actors, but the directors have always given cinema a turnaround whenever required.
Now, this guy - Anurag Kashyap, is heavily influenced by Scorsese, and may be some other directors too. Being influenced and then delivering beyond imagination is a gargantuan task, only few blessed people can do. The film style and techniques which he carries with himself are rare, almost rare in the Bollywood where some quacks in the name of cinema produce utter rubbish stuffs and beguile the audience of real dimensions of cinema.
Let's quickly talk about the movie. Every dimension of cinema has been given full respect. Everyone's performance is quite commendable. The cinematography is simply amazing. The dialogues are such a bliss to any Bihari ears. Thanks to the God, I have got a pair. A great music to spice up the situations. You know, the music will remind you of Kill Bill. Music has been Tarantino's one of the greatest weapons. Tarantino has also influenced Kashyap. The direction of the movie- let's not talk about that. I have talked a lot already about the director.
One thing I want to mention particularly. Many directors tried to get into gang-wars, mafia and other stories involving Bihar and U.P. But the level to which this movie takes you has never been achieved earlier. I was just flabbergasted. How could the director boil down to such intricacies? That's the job of a genius, ain't it?
There were few things I did not like about the movie. The movie needed a little bit more work on editing. The narrator should have been a better one. A powerful voice was what I thought lacked. Also if the movie were little bit peaceful in the first half, it would have been a legend. Remember Taxi Driver. That calmness and that peace. And one thing particularly- it should have been released in one piece despite of any length it had got. But bad things come in twos and here is Bollywood's baddie my friend.
Do not listen to what one says. Just go for it. It will satisfy the voracious you. A perfect roller-coaster ride. And those who follow the quacks I mentioned - please avoid this movie. We do not want such slumps despising something heavenly.
P.S.- Do not watch this movie with your girl otherwise you will end up answering the one and only question throughout the movie. "What does that mean"?
Ramayana: The Epic (2010)
nicely made !!
Ramayana-the epic is quite vibrant and colorful movie.Yes,we know the story. We know it better than our first nursery rhyme. But ,this is not what you will go to watch the movie for.Keep in mind that you are there for an animation movie, for which the industry is still preparing.
This movie has got effects better than the earlier animation movies produced by the industry. It reveals the very class that we will be showing in next few years. Many effects in this movie are quite spectacle and funny as well. The Ravana's palace, the sea,the battle and many other things say it loudly that a lot of effort was put up for this movie.
Packing such a huge epic in just 104 minutes is really a tough task, but luckily the director did it very well.I will say that this movie is a must watch if you appreciate bollywood a little. This movie is really nice.
rating - 8.5/10
Guzaarish (2010)
More than entertainment
Its very true that Bollywood offers less freshness and innovativeness, but Guzaarish provides you way more than entertainment. It will take you to a world of fantasy so close to the characters that you enjoy every bit of things happening out.A movie awesome in every aspect is Guzaarish,a love story knitted in subtle threads of sentiment,a more than life feeling is Guzaarish. Its made to satisfy you not just to entertain you. This movie is simply magical.
I had never thought it would provide so much,as the trailer was not so profound as the movie is.Sanjay Leela Bhansali's direction is simply outstanding. He will never let you loosen your grip anywhere in the movie. He will completely bind your heart and mind with the movie.Music of the movie is quite complementing and has got some soft scores that will be soothing for your ears.
Lastly I would like to add that if you have a habit of attaching yourself emotionally to a movie too much then have a handkerchief with you fr this,by the way I had a towel with me in my case.Last 10-12 mins of the movie are simply breathtaking, everything is so emotional that will make you cry like a little baby.I cried,I enjoyed.
