Mortal Kombat (2021)
An enjoyable train-wreck of a movie
I had high hopes for this movie when I first heard about it and watched the trailer, especially after watching the incredible MK Legends: Scorpion's Revenge animation, but unfortunately it did not live up to expectations and maybe that's on me.
The plot was awful but some of the fighting scenes were nice and gruesome. I found the main character Cole to be quite dull, but the focus wasn't entirely on him so that's a good thing. Shockingly, I found Kano to be the best character with the funniest lines, and I might even throw Kabal in for that too.
Kung Lao was probably the most genuine true-to-character out of all of them, his fight scenes were incredible and quite enjoyable.
Overall, the movie was disappointing but as a MK fan, I still enjoyed it for what it is. 6/10.
Harley Quinn (2019)
Absolutely phenomenal
I didn't have a lot of expectations going in but I was amazed by how hilarious, gruesome, and fun it is. I am not going to say much to spoil it for anyone, but this is as good as it gets from DC.. probably their best animated series in modern times. Give it a shot, you won't regret it!
The Half of It (2020)
Beautiful and different
An emotional roller-coaster that is beautiful, different, and bold. I rarely ever write reviews and there's not much I can say without spoiling any good parts of the movie, so my recommendation is to just watch it because you'll love it.

The Punisher (2017)
Intense, stellar depiction of The Punisher
This is by far the best Marvel show I've watched, and Daredevil comes as a close second. It had all the elements of a terrific TV show: amazing cinematography, stellar acting, interesting backstory, thrilling action, and FANTASTIC soundtracks playing throughout.
As I said, Daredevil comes as a close second because it was an amazing experience as well.
I must say that the darkness and violence of The Punisher kind of separates it from the rest of the pack. Yes, Jessica Jones, Daredevil, and others had a lot of violence and darkness but The Punisher is on another level. I found myself gasping in some scenes.
Although Jon Bernthal (Frank Castle) was incredible in this, I believe that Ben Barnes (Billy Russo) absolutely stole the show.
This is a must watch for Marvel fans as well as dark/thriller shows fans in general.

StartUp (2016)
I am truly shocked at how brilliant this show was!
This is probably the most underrated TV show I've ever seen in my life. I just got Amazon Prime for 6 months and I went in with no expectations, but I was amazed and mesmerized. The acting, storytelling, camera, soundtracks, and every element in the movie came together beautifully.
I'd say that Edi Gathegi has become one of my all-time favorite actors just because of his performance in this show. If the other actors and actresses weren't as great as they were, I'd say he steals the show.
Forget the critics and go in with an open mind, you'll absolutely love it.
I watched the whole show in two days and I can't remember binge watching any other show that much except The Wire.
Forget what the critics said and go in and enjoy the ride.
Charlie Bartlett (2007)
What turned me off..
I would just like to say that the movie is great - I loved it. It cracked me up at times and made me sad at times. However, I'd just like to say (STRICTLY OPINIONATED) that it totally sucked and lacked emotion when Kat Dennings sang at the end. I believe it was supposed to make us sad and emotionally involved in the moment, heck, there was a lady crying in the movie (the one behind the suicidal kid) but in my opinion it was one of the worst moments in the movie that sort of killed the ending.
Overall, I didn't really like Kat's performance in the movie and I believe they could have found someone better for the job. She is a good actress, and I liked her in other parts and have nothing against her, but to me, she didn't really bring out or represent the character she's playing in that movie; I didn't even understand her at first.. is she one of those negative, Gothic, black-wearing people (that's what she looked like) or is she the lover type? I honestly don't get it.
Knucklehead (2010)
A wonderful comedy for the family on the weekend!
I just finished watching Knucklehead and I absolutely loved it. It is hilarious most of the time and very sad at times, and I really love the funny and sad twists. I was expecting it to be just another time-wasting movie that will depend entirely on its main actor's fame, but it definitely surpassed my expectations.
All the actors in the movie were great. Mark Feuerstein and Merola Hardin really hit the spot and play their characters perfectly, and so did all the other actors in the movie.
Paul Wight "The Big Show" surprisingly is a brilliant actor. He is hilarious and portrays his character's emotions flawlessly. I'd go as much as saying he's a much better actor than he is a wrestler.
Critics and people who are into movies like The Godfather should avoid this movie and not start criticizing and nominating it for worst movie in history as this is just a comedy for the family.
So buy/rent it for the weekend, sit on the couch with your family, get your pop corn ready, and prepare to start laughing at a giant acting like a 12 year old!
Gotta love Knucklehead!
Paranormal Activity (2007)
Horrible movie
That was just about it. I heard a lot of awesome things about the movie and I watched it with high hopes but it failed miserably. What the heck is it about anyway? Yeah, some ghost/demon/whatever keeps playing with their heads at night, opening the door, lighting the Ouija board on fire, turning the lights off and back on, SO WHAT? The only part of the movie that was actually good was when the ghost pulled her from her leg and dragged her. That was made well.
And that Micah guy, yeah his character is an ass hole that keeps blaming his girlfriend for everything that happens, sometimes even in a direct way - he told her it's her fault, remember. Truly dumb movie and let's not mention the horrendous ending. She stood up for 3 hours, kept looking at him and then went down then started screaming and he ran and died, how? why? where? No effin clue. Her friend came in and died as well, how, why, where, when? No clue. But why didn't the cops die? Because they have guns? LOL.
