Leatherface (2017)
Such a sad let down
I was eagerly awaiting this film for a year and a half. I watched it 2 weeks ago and to say I was horribly let down is an understatement. I have enjoyed the directors earlier films and thought that if a prequel was to happen, then these two could pull it off but alas, it could not be done. The only thing this film did was to possibly end both of their careers. It may as well have been made by Rob Zombie
Stray Bullets (2016)
Biting off more than he can chew
Holy! That was really awful. Truth be told, I couldn't make it past 25 mins. I get that he's 16 but I saw an interview with him and he seemed extremely arrogant and was going on about how he did everything and that he was only 15 while making the film and then he went on to let us know what else he has made and again, reminding us of his age. He could use a slice of humble pie because bragging about how much you were involved and yet the final product is less than mediocre, then maybe do a good job at one or two things opposed to not doing a good job at a lot of things. The first scene, he is with his buddy and he says his buddy's name like 40 times in the first 5 mins. If you are only two people, why on earth would you have to say your friends name every goddamn time you say something to them?! His directing while in motion is dizzyingly nauseating and his use of contrast (white on stark white) is confusing. His soundtrack (which of course he composed) is out of place and frankly, he is a terrible actor. I do believe he didn't get advice from his Father because I enjoy his Father's work so he couldn't have. Hopefully as he matures, so will his talent.
Fargo: The Law of Non-Contradiction (2017)
Age Discrepancy of Mobley
I am confused as to how old Thaddeus Mobley/Ennis Stussy is supposed to be in 1975?
He is murdered in 2010 at the age of 82 but in 1975, that would make him 47.
He looks like he is in his early 20's. Am I missing something?
Better Things (2016)
Hilarious. Raw and yet poignant. Best series on TV
This show is one of the best series I've ever watched. I am a huge Louis C.K. and Pamela Aldon fan. It's extremely easy to relate to, real and laugh out loud hilarious about REAL people and the struggles of being a single parent or parent for that matter. It also does a great job of showing the struggles of being an aging actress in an industry that favours youth and beauty over talent. I'm amazed to read other reviews stating that it's not funny? Someone said it was for Feminists. Absolutely, not true. While I would call her a Feminist, she bashes those who have it coming, not necessarily only men. She praises good men and gives the bad ones an earful, so possibly it touched a nerve in some people. Make up your own mind by giving it a watch :)
Lake Eerie (2016)
How did this make it to film?
I tried watching this because of Lance Henriksen. This has got to be the poorest acting I've ever seen. I started watching this and fell asleep so I attempted it again the following night. Same thing happened. I gave it a third go and could not possibly endure. It is the weakest movie I've ever seen. Apparently, Meredith Majors wrote it as well as acted in it. I have no idea how she got to be where she is as both of those were the worst things I've come across in a longtime. How this has been rated 7.5, I will never understand. Try it for yourself. I rarely put much faith in strangers opinions as they are just that, not reviews. Please, watch for yourself and I'm sure I can guess what you'll say. If nothing else, it can be used as a sleeping aid
