Horsemen (2009)
Really entertaining with some great acting
Yeah, it wasn't as good as Seven, or Agent X, but it was still good. I've always liked serial killer movies, and this had some really good scenes and kills and characters and twists. Zhiyi, I think was the Chinese girls name, was EXCELLENT. Her character really got under my skin, great work. Dennis Quaid was convincing without being too cliché, just a little. The ending was almost predictable, but only because of good foreshadowing...the clues were there if you watched for them I think it was a pretty intelligent flick, with people being expected to figure things out for themselves, I think some of the low ratings probably come from people who need lots of "flashback" scenes to understand the plot of a movie. A solid, entertaining, gotta recommend it to your friends movie, even if we won't be talking about it in ten years.

MINUS 1 - This movie is WORSE than jumper
OK, so they ripped off the old FireStarter movie, remember the one with drew Barrymore and replaced it with the newest kid sensation, Dakota fanning. The movie centers around this cliché, the young kid who is precocious and independent, and outwits the evil grown ups. Disney does this picture much better, at least those are cute and funny. Seriously, much better sci-fi/thriller has been filled with a cam corder. I'm writing this at 20 minutes into the movie, and turning it off now. This movie MAY be even worse than jumper. I wish someone would explain to Hollywood they cannot save a bad script with good looking people. Oh, did I mention she tells the future by making these cute stick figure drawings of dead people? Of course, the only way for children to be psychic is with morbid stick figures.
The Eleventh Hour (2008)
What do you expect in an action movie?
Was there ever a VanDamme, Seagal, or Schwartzneggar movie with a great plot? Face it, we only give 10's to dramas, don't we? Well, this was an action movie, and as such, it rates a 10. The directing was top notch (for an action movie) and the fight signs were great. If you are an MMA fan, and you like a little jiu-jitsu, then you'll love these sequences. The best part is you can actually see the fighting taking place, none of that "let's make you feel like you're there by bringing the camera too close and shaking it around while people fight" crap. You can actually see the martial arts in action, and it's good, solid, crisp stuff, very nice. I tell you, the directing was great as well. Everyone has a beef, and so did I, with two things. One, a remote/timer bomb in someones head (hey, its better than the "my wife and I are so happy, we're the perfect couple, someone killed her, now it's time for revenge" plot that fuels 99% of action movies.) Also, it's great to see North Korea as the bad guys. I mean, in real life, those guys are F@#@#$ nuts, so why aren't they in more movies? But really, having North Korean agents planted everywhere was a little ridiculous. Seriously though, as an action movie goes, 10/10. It was no Schindler's List, but for craps sake people, did you think it would be?
