Ben 10: Alien Swarm (2009)
Better than Ben 10: Race Against Time
Cartoon Network definitely learned from their first Ben 10 live action movie. The special effects, acting, and action are better. What I didn't like about the movie is how Grandpa Max and other characters have such a hard time believing Elena. I would have rather liked them to have chose a character from Ben's past that has previously appeared in the series and not a character that appeared in Ben's past, but not in the series. Even with that, Elena is a good character and it's awesome when she fights. My favorite scene is when Ben 10 transforms into Nanomech and fights the queen. If there is a live action Ben 10 film for the coming up series, I hope that it is as good as this or better. When this comes out on DVD, I want to own it.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005)
My second favorite Tim Burton film
I like this movie better than the 1971 version. The characters are great and I love the music. The scenes with the Oompa Loompas singing are my favorite scenes. I love this version of Willy Wonka more than the one in the 1971 version. He's way weirder, crazier, and funnier. My only problem with Willy Wonka is that how he looks and talks kind of reminds me of Michael Jackson. The difference is, Michael Jackson is a pedophile. I think that Charlie was way to perfect. I like how he acts, but it's strange how someone could be that flawless. It's funny that the original film is called Willy Wonka but is focused on Charlie and that the Chocolate Factory but is focused on Willy Wonka.
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas (2008)
Somewhere in my top 10 favorite movies
I think that this movie is sad, disturbing, and great. I don't see why people complain about this movie's historical inaccuracies because most historical movies have inaccuracies. If they really don't want to deal with that, they should stick to documentaries. The movie was disturbing and sad because of the violence, the fathers and sister's beliefs, and the violence. It was good that Bruno didn't believe the Nazis about the Jews being evil, but he was still very naive. He thought that the camp was a good place to be because of the fake video that he saw his father and grandpa watching. He only got a small picture of what it was like in there. I don't see how he could have only got a small picture of it which also took a long time. I don't see why it took him so long to see that something was not right and to know that putting the striped clothes on and going in there was not a good idea. The ending was very sad when Bruno, Schmoe, and the other Jews died.
VeggieTales: Dave and the Giant Pickle (1996)
Second worst Veggie Tales movie
This is my second least favorite Veggie Tales movie right after Where's God When I'm S-S-Scared?. The plot didn't make any sense. The plot was that they were in a war and the only way to end it was to have Dave fight Goliath (the giant pickle). When Goliath went to their land for a fight, no one fought. So he came back day after day and no one would fight. Since Goliath and the Philistines where such idiots, why didn't the Israelites just not go over there every day? That way there would be no fight and idiotic Goliath will keep on going there day after day until he dies. I also hated Goliath's voice. After all of the good Veggie Tales movies that I have seen, this is a big disappointment.
Larry-Boy! And the Fib from Outer Space! (1997)
Larry-Boy is pathetic
I like this movie a lot, but Larry-Boy is pathetic. Larry-Boy does not know how to be a superhero. Whenever he fights crime, he always needs help from Alfred. In this movie and the one with the rumor weed, other people were the ones that saved the day. In this film, Junior Asparagus stopped the fib by telling everyone the truth. In Larry-Boy and the Rumor Weed, the rumor weed was stopped by Junior letting everyone know that the rumor wasn't true. Larry-Boy could have been left out of both because he didn't do anything. What superhero doesn't know how to handle his or her equipment without help constantly? Why couldn't Alfred be the superhero in both movies?
Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog (2008)
Great independent film
When I checked out the DVD at the library, I wasn't close to sure that I would like it. When I watched it, I was surprised at how much I liked it. I like the music and all of the characters except for Captain Hammer because he was very annoying. The special features are great also. I would have liked this to be longer, but I'm not against films that are short. My favorite scene was when Dr. Horrible was walking up the aisle where Captain Hammer was giving a speech and sang about what he would do with power. My least favorite scene is when Penny dies. I would have liked it if Dr. Horrible killed Captain Hammer. This is my second favorite independent film after Expiration Date.
Ben 10: Alien Force (2008)
Way better than the first series
The characters, action, and villains are way better in this. Gwen is hot in this and Kevin isn't a villain anymore. Ben's girlfriend is hot. This is one of the few good shows that are on Cartoon Network (who are they targeting anyway?). My favorite aliens that Ben is able to turn into is Big Chill and Humongosaur. My favorite episodes is the War of the Worlds second season finale. My least favorite episode is the one with Alien X. I don't see why Cartoon Network hyped Alien X up so much when Alien X is frozen for most of the episode and never appears again. I'm looking forward to the live action movie of this called Ben 10: Alien Swarm which looks way better than the previous film Ben 10: Race Against Time.
The Wool Cap (2004)
Best movie that I have seen this year
This movie is the best movie that I have seen this year. The characters are very likable and it's great how Gigot was able to take care of Lou at the end when her mom died. I don't see why people wanted Gigot to get rid of his monkey. The monkey was awesome. It's sad that those two dick heads poisoned him. I think that this would have done well in theaters (the award nominations show that especially). Directors have to have more faith in their films. I've seen many direct to video movies and TV movies that I think would have done well in theaters. When I checked the DVD out from the library, I thought that I would like it, but I didn't know that I would like it enough to be the best movie that I have seen this year.
Mars Attacks! (1996)
Awesome movie
This is my favorite movie by Tim Burton and I'm glad that I have it on DVD. The Martians and the action is great. I don't see how so many people including the president thought that the aliens meant no harm especially after their first meeting. My favorite scenes are when people get blasted by the aliens, the fight in the White House, and when the idiotic president dies. I was glad when the president died. I first heard of this movie when I was in Kindergarten or first grade and I was scared to watch it. I think that I might have been able to handle it back then because I watched the Jurassic Park movies back then and I loved them and still do.
Kindergarten Cop (1990)
Great movie
This is my favorite movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger. I like the action and the comedy in this. The villains are awesome and Crisp's mother is more intimidating than him. It was great seeing John Kimble beat the crap out of the guy that kept on beating his sun enough to give him bruises all over. Phoebe's Austrain accent was hilarious and awesome. I don't see why people complain about this being an action/comedy film that has to do with Kindergarten. I've seen people on IMDb act like kids couldn't see it because of the violence. I think that it's great that John Kimble decided to quit being a detective and stay in Astoria, Oregon to be a Kindergarten teacher and stay with Joyce and her son.
The Tuxedo (2002)
Awesome movie
This is another great movie with Jackie Chan. I would have rather had Jimmy not use an advanced tuxedo to fight, but I still think that the movie is awesome. The action is great and my favorite scene is the fight scene at the end (like usual). I think that this is somewhere in my top five favorite Jackie Chan movies. The British C.S.A. agent was almost a fake, but he's still cool. I wonder if he always uses the tuxedo to fight crime. If so, that is really lame. There is a minor plot hole in this. When Jimmy first activates the tuxedo, it says that it will attack any moving object, but the suit goes around the room attacking objects that aren't moving.
Batman's Gonna Get Shot in the Face (2006)
Stupid
I hate how this attacks Batman. It makes Batman seem like he's worthless to the Justice League. He is good at planning strategies and fighting pretty much every villain. He's able to fight insane mass murderers like Joker, shapeshifters like Clayface, villains with super strength like Bane and Killer Croc, immortals like Ra's Al Ghul and Vandal Savage, a bunch of Thangorians at once, gods like Darkseid and Hades, and other superheroes in the Justice League if he needs to. With everything that he has done in his long history, it seems odd that they make him seem so weak and useless in this fan film. The entire league likes Batman's help. This film is not the truth in anyway.
When Zachary Beaver Came to Town (2003)
Awesome until end
I like the characters and I feel a lot for them. It's nice how the main characters treat Zachary like how a person should be treated instead of being treated like a freak show like everyone else in the town. I was really sad when Cal's brother died in the army and I was sad when Toby thought that he wouldn't see his mother again and that he thought his dad didn't try hard enough. I was really annoyed at how the blonde girl talked. The reason why I gave this a five is because if the end. In the end, Toby and Cal try to get Zachary baptized before social services take him away so that he can join his mother in heaven when he dies. That is all that the ending. I didn't finish the ending because I think that it is stupid and way religious. I think that it's odd that a movie like this one made such a big change like that.
Digging to China (1997)
Total Awesomeness
This is the best movie that I have seen this year. The characters are great and it's very easy to care for them. I was very surprised when after Harriet's "mother" died, she found out that her mother was actually her "aunt". I hated that the psychotic girl on the bus was a dick to Harriet and Ricky and that Harriet's mom was a dick to Ricky. It's nice that Harriet's mom realized how she was wrong about Ricky and changed her ways. I really wonder what type of mental disorder the girl on the bus has. She insults Harriet every day including when her "mom" dies from drunk driving. She's such a nutcase. Ricky is not the nutcase and the girl on the bus is.
Jaws: The Revenge (1987)
Isn't very good
I liked this movie the first time that I watched it, but I didn't like it later on. I don't see why this Jaws is trying to get revenge on the family. Does the shark know the other three sharks that got killed? Was the shark part of an evil experiment that made it smart and want to get revenge for a reason that we don't know about? Was the family just crazy and thought that they knew why the shark attacked them when the smart shark that wants to get revenge and was in an evil experiment only did it for the heck of it or for terrorist training with Nazi robot vampires that are also zombies? I shouldn't have bought this. This is crap compared to the first movie.
The Skeleton Key (2005)
Awesome
This is the best horror movie that I have seen. It was great how Caroline put all of the pieces together to solve the mystery. I was surprised when the main character found out that ghosts weren't involved. I liked how the "lawyer" was not as he appeared. I was really excited about what would happen next after a new thing was unraveled. The scene where the old lady and the "lawyer" chase after her was my favorite scene. I was kind of disappointed at the ending, but I still really like the movie. I thought that the beginning scene where the hospital workers treated a man's death like nothing important was really horrible.
The Truman Show (1998)
Best Jim Carey movie ever
This is the best Jim Carrey movie that I have ever seen. The people who recorded the reality show and acted are total dicks. They messed with his mind, attacked him, and tried to force him to stay in the fake town. It was so great when Truman told off the evil director and left. It would have been great if the director died. During the film, I imagined myself going up to him with a gun and shooting him in the head. The sad thing is that there is people like him in real life that would do anything to make a profit even if it included brainwashing someone for thirty years. I'm surprised that barely anyone outside the set had any problems with a person's whole life being manipulated.
Attack of the 50 Foot Woman (1958)
Awful movie
I saw this movie because it had a giant person and was labeled as a monster movie. I do not understand why it is called a monster movie. The movie is a drama. I was expecting a lot of destruction, but what did I get? Most of the movie was relationship problems and people thinking that a woman was a loony because she saw a spaceship crash with a giant inside for an unexplained reason. The action started a few minutes toward the end. Since the woman was killed, isn't that murder? Couldn't they have done anything else besides murder her? If you watch this because you expect it to have action because it is labeled as a monster movie, don't watch it. It is not a monster movie. It is a drama.
For the Love of Benji (1977)
Awful movie
I checked out the DVD at my library because I liked Benji, but I hated this film. The background noise is way louder than it should have been. The background noise was so loud that it was louder than the people talking. A lot of the movie is people talking in Greek without any subtitles. The characters were so boring and the background noise so loud that I didn't understand the plot. I don't know what the point of the tattoo on Benji's paw is and I don't know who the British man and woman are. The plot was boring also. Most of what I saw was Benji exploring the city, stealing food, and getting to know a dog. This is the only dog movie that I have seen that I don't like.
Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero (1997)
Way better than Batman & Robin
This film is way better than Batman & Robin and should have been in theaters instead of B&R. This film was released straight to video to get people to watch the theatrical B&R, but many people think that this film is better which is hilarious. The DCAU Mr. Freeze, Batman, and Robin are way better than what was in B&R. There is no ice puns, imagery that looks gay, bad plot, bright lights, a super villain that shouldn't be a mindless thug, and fight scenes that resemble the 1960s series. This shows that a direct to video film can be better than a theatrical release if the people working on the film care about the characters and plot instead of selling toys and being over obsessed with making the film kid friendly.
The Othersiders (2009)
Fake!
This "reality" TV series is a fake. All of the shots inside the buildings are in the pitch black with the kids talking and "ghostly" noises. You can tell by the kids' voices that they are just acting. There is no investigator that would ever work in the pitch black because that would put them at risk of getting injured or dying. An inconsistency in the first episode is when the kids say that they have been on ghost investigations before, but later on in the episode, they were acting like they have never participated in one before because they kept on saying how freaked out they were. They were way more freaked out then people that have been on many ghost investigations should have been.
Justice League (2001)
Excellent series
This is a great action packed series with well-known superheroes like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, and ones that are not that well known.
My favorite Justice League Members: 1. Batman 2. The Question 3. Huntress
The superheroes with no super powers are way more entertaining than the ones with super powers. I wish that there was no Bat-Embargo because it stopped every Batman character except for Batman to appear later in the series. I would have loved to see Batman characters in the later seasons especially Batgirl, Nightwing, Scarecrow, and Two-Face. If there was no Bat-Embargo, the creators would have put Batgirl in an episode and Hugo Strange would have most likely had a bigger part in the series instead of a non-speaking cameo.
Batman: The Animated Series (1992)
My favorite series
This is my all-time favorite series. My top three favorite supervillains are Joker, Harley Quinn, and Two-Face. The only supervillain that I hate is Lock-Up. I don't understand how Lock-Up was put in the comics before Harley Quinn. I like all the characters that were first created for the series except for Lock-Up. The episode with Lock-Up is the most boring episode ever.
My favorite episode is "Second Chance" which gives Two-Face a chance to be his old self, but he fails because his Big Bad Harv personality tells criminals to take Harvey Dent out of the surgery room. Batman replaced Two-Face's coin with a fake one that always landed on it's side. Two-Face thought it was real so he kept on flipping it to see if it would work. The fake coin fell off the edge and Two-Face would have died while trying to get it if it wasn't for Batman.
