Very Good Film

I really liked the film. Kind of reminded me of a foreign "Ghost World". Had the same kind of chemistry between the girls. It is good to see that female friendship is the same all over. This is a fun movie and gives us a peak of what it is like to grow up in modern Korea. I highly recommend it!

Really Quirky!

I really loved this movie. I felt that special dark, good, funky feeling. Very strange and good. I know it was said that Jo Ann Woodward was good in this. I am not a big Jo Ann fan. I think she was just playing her same old character again, as in all her movies. In this case, though, the movie carried her wonderfully!

I think it has a really good Feel

A reviewer complained about this movie not showing enough. Movies are not like television episodes. A movie is a finished product. Each movie vehical has to express not only specific acts and dialogue of the cast but has to also expell an artistic quality. A movie unlike television shows must be reviewed wholistically. Either a movie is a good total package or it is not. This is why most movie sequels do not work. It is usually impossible to recreate the unique once in a lifetime artistic expression of a film. I would suggest movie reviewers keep this in mind. Of course one should never watch movies with commercials. This totally breaks up the continuity and artistic expression of any film and reduces them to the level of a television episode. This film gave me a very mello, soft feeling, I could feel the main character's growing love and attraction as she discovered her innermost desires. I believe that the movie wanted the viewer to feel the passion in her mind not the actual phyical interaction with the bodies.

Surface Calm (2001)

The movie makes you really feel something

I think this is a great film because it shows how a seemingly normal housewife has severe mental issues. It also points out how family members often downplay these problems and have hang ups about seeking professional help for their loved ones. This movie made me understand things I did not before.
