Pretty entertaining
12 January 2004
This movie has its own weird sense of humor. But it is pretty well made and not like a lot of other old movies (With old movies I mean: 1965 or earlier movies). I've read it was made in 2 days, but it's definitely an unique movie. Especially Jack Nicholson's short appearances as a sadistic patient.

Encino Man (1992)
Why do people make movies like these?
17 October 2003
That was my first thought after I saw this movie. The story is extremely ridiculous, the comedy in the movie...well, was there any? Anyway I don't want to say very much of this movie, that would be a very useless waste of my time.

Platoon (1986)
Extremely good
6 June 2003
Probably the best war-movie to me is Platoon. It is a movie who is so realistic that it even makes it looks that you were in the Vietnam-war. Compared with other war-movies or series like 'Tour of duty' for example, it is much better. 'Tour of duty' was very entertaining to see, but it was a little romanticized and unrealistic. In Platoon, you can see that America lost that war because of bad strategy and attitude. The simple-minded, poor Americans were sent to Vietnam to fight for the rich Americans. They were young and no natural born killers so that is why they lost the war. Director and writer Oliver Stone showed really good how this happened, it even made me a little emotional. Especially the very memorable (to me anyway) invasion of the American soldiers in the Vietnamese village and the big battle at the end were very impressing to me. Oliver Stone, congratulations.

Johnny Bravo (1997–2004)
Oh, mama!
7 February 2003
Yeah, Johnny Bravo rules!!! It's one of the coolest cartoons Cartoon Network ever showed. The stories had no serious subjects, and most of the things weren't very logical. Actually, nothing was logical. But that is the power of Johnny Bravo. But when the restaurant-owner Pops and the nerd Carl showed up, this cartoon went over the top. There came too much nonsense and wasn't very funny anymore. Besides, the music and drawing style changed, but it didn't get better, it got worse. Too bad, because in it's early days Johnny Bravo was the best!!!

Oh my god!!!
28 January 2003
OK, the first Police Academy was pretty reasonable, but all those very bad sequels after that... and this number 6!!!!! God, they should prohibit this in cinemas!!!! If you like a depressive, boring Sunday afternoon, just watch one of the Police Academy movies.

the most important change in sci-fi history
22 January 2003
Before The Terminator was launched in the cinema's, science-fiction was always the same: people floating around in space in their spaceships, discovering new planets with evil aliens, and the brave, heroic astronauts of course win all the battles. All these movies like: Star Trek, Star Wars, Battle Star Galactica, etc. started really to bore the people. Of course Star Trek and Star Wars were pretty cool, but after those movies, the rip-off sci-fi started. Until 1984. This year was an important year for the science-fiction, because this is the story: in 2029 the world is in hands of the machines, which are raised out of the nuclear mess after the Nuclear War. But the machines are almost defeated by mankind, thanks to their leader John Connor. But the machines sent a advanced cyborg back to 1984 to kill the mother of this leader: Sarah Connor. The humans sent also a fighter back to protect sarah and make sure that John Connor will be born.

Nobody could ever make a science-fiction with a story like this, but after The Terminator, there came a lot of movies like this. Movies like: Cyborg, Timecop and many more. Another important thing of The Terminator are the actors. In The Terminator are exactly the right actors chosen and so is the music. This all together makes The Terminator a classic sci-fi movie

The Transformers (1984–1987)
These robots ruled
22 January 2003
It looks a very long time ago and too bad it is true. The Transformers were so incredibly cool, I wish it was still 14 or 15 years ago. I never missed one Transformers-episode and these robots were so good: Highbrow, Landfill, Scorponok(he was evil, man), Ratchet and of course...Optimus Prime, the leader of the Autobots. I wish that the new generation children could grow up with this amazing animation-series.

G.I. Joe (1985–1986)
There's nothing more American than this great animation-series
22 January 2003
G.I. Joe, when I hear this word, my thoughts are going back to my early childhood when I was watching the great heroes defeating the "Free West threatening" enemy COBRA. And after I watched it, I always started to play with my G.I. Joe toys. I was building ambushes with the G.I. Joe action figures and when the COBRA forces came through it was always big fun. Throwing around the action figures, making noise and stuff like that. And the coolest character of G.I. Joe was Ponton. Everybody who watched this series knows Ponton. He was the best specialist en he just looked very cool. Too bad, in Europe aren't very much people who like G.I. Joe. They say that G.I. Joe is an "anti-Russian" and "arrogant American product". I don't mind what those hanger-ons say, I just want to say: G.I. Joeoeoeoeo!!!!!!!
