Evil Dead II (1987)
Doesn't make any sense, but very enjoyable
One night in summer I was bored and decided to watch a horror movie on youtube; I decided to watch this movie for some reason and it's not until the movie finished 3 minutes and I was interested in watching more.. I found some parts from this movie to be somewhat very scary like that semi driving demon voice and awkwardly, that tree rape scene was sort of scary as will; don't know why it's scary and it had to somehow freak me out. I have to admit that I think 'Evil Dead 2' makes no sense, but it's very enjoyable; kinda of like those cheesy slasher films that have no good plots but are pretty much watchable. At the end, I thank all the cast and crew that worked on this film.
The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea (2000)
Never leaves a chance for me to be interested
I'm not saying that this is a very bad movie, but it's closely to being one. This movie is a much of a remake for the original than being a sequel and it's true that remaking is not always a curse but apparently this sequel is semi to be a curse. I found the events of this movie to be semi interesting but I didn't find any event not even remotely interesting for real; this movie had my interests in it's events killed by just every second when first I watched it and I was about to give up but hey why should I be so harsh? let's handle the events and see what's the end with the story. All I'm saying is that this movie needs to improve itself over 600,000 time to at least be as good as the original. You may say I'm totally overreacting but that's how I see it. My preschool brother and 2nd grader sister at the time didn't like this movie at all. Both of them actually borrowed this movie for movie time at school and guess what, the both reported us of how everybody were bored from the events and their teachers eventually ended up replacing another movie instead of this just when it wasn't even close to the middle. If you want to watch this movie just go to youtube or download it but my advice to you: never pay a penny over this for even rent cause you might cry from believing that you've waisted your money over this.
White Oleander (2002)
Depressing but yet excellent
I'm not so attracted to the drama genre but this movie was actually very good. It tells the story of a woman with one daughter who goes to jails due to murdering her boyfriend; now she goes from foster to foster experiencing both positive and negative things. I just saw this movie and discovered what a masterpiece this is; it was entertaining at first but afterwards got depressing which caused me sadness. Then again I felt weirdly sadly happy at the end and didn't know really why. This isn't a light-hearting movie but yet it's good and just succeeds at almost every level. I found the acting to be good and the writing to be well down and as will as the direction and effects and all that stuff, but I wished their wasn't so much sadness in the movie and mostly I found sadness coming from that background music. Anyway, for all those who hadn't seen the film, I encourage you to see this one and I can assure you won't regreet but please don't be a negative viewer, and what I mean about that, the events of this movie runs somewhat slow; their's not that much of action but even though the movie itself is good; I'm usually not fond of movies with slow events but this movie seriously attracted me cause it opened my heart to make me realise how excellent it is. I can't express how I'm in love with this movie I just feel so passionate about it so I would like to thank the whole cast and crew and especially the writer not forgetting the author of the novel which without it, this movie never would've existed.
Popular (1999)
The Second season was sourt of depressing but yet it's a good show
I have to say that POPULAR was one of the most greatest teen shows that appeared on television, it was a really good show that discussed teen issues even though that it's sourt of unrealistic, but hey i just watch it for fun. For the first season, I give it five by five as it was very entertaining and a good solution for somebody specially the teens, to run away from problems and torture. The second season was good but more serious that even the ending was twisted and gave me some sourt of depression but it doesn't mean that it's not good. I really wanted another season but I just can't understand why would they give up on this show; if the WB fear from the ratings that maybe lower then the first but even though not bad, then hell with the WB just find another network because a show like POPULAR isn't the kind to be rejected quickly.
I would like to add that I hate the now CW 'WB'; why in the world did they give up on this show they didn't even give it a chance. Before Buffy, the WB begged for a least successful show and just after that they thought that they were big deals. The WB didn't not only disappointed POPULAR but they disappointed BUFFY as will which was the main reason for their success. POPULAR should've been sold to a company like ABC, cause ABC gives decent chances for a show's success; like 'Ugly Betty', this show was only successful for it's first season and went downhill fastly after that but look at ABC, they're still giving chances for this show.
Bratz (2007)
Same Old Ideas
This movie must be added in the list of worst movies in history; to me, it's not well written and boring and neither then that, we are bored with these stereotypes. Their's nothing new in this movie, it was a total waste of money and breath. If I was a producer and a written idea for a movie like this was given time on my table, after reading it I won't mind tearing up the papers cause the creator of this movie obviously has nothing new for public out there or he definitely needs to civilize himself about teen and musical movies, cause movies like Bratz are like released each year and I think Disney is a good example for what I mean. For your own good, I'm telling you to stay away from this movie cause you might find out how boring it is and how much time you've wasted with this crap.
Goosebumps (1995)
I can't believe I made my holiday a disaster because of this
When I was a kid, I had a VHS tape that included a commerical for the Goosebumps videos. Earlier, I had no idea about Goosebumps except that it's scary and a show based on horror kids novels. I can't believe how that commerical fooled me and made me think that this actually worth watching. When I searched for it before, I took a road trip across all of my country's video stores and still didn't find it. I was going crazy because of this show; unfortunately, I turned my winter break into a disaster because I didn't find this show. I hardly found some books and read them and was totally impressed. But now and after watching various episodes, I finally discovered how stupid a show Goosebumps is. Even the books, now and after growing up, I found them to be poorly written and totally lame. The episodes I at least liked from this show were The Haunted Mask and Cry Of Cat Part One and Two; Neither than the bad acting and non-talented actors, I found these episodes to be well written. Neither then these episodes I give the show a BIG ZERO. Also about the special effects, did they buy them from a cheap store or something, they were totally unconvincing. Generally, I have nothing to say about this show except: lame, lame, and LAME.
Are You Afraid of the Dark? (1990)
One for the opening and theme sound effects and two for acting
I really don't know why everybody likes this show; I used to watch it when I was a kid and till know, I'm interested in nothing except for the theme song and good acting. There isn't a single episode I watched from this show and liked. Some episodes and I tell you SOME, when they start they seem to be good, but after some minutes their boring. I'm not saying that I liked any episode from this show, but eariler seasons and if they were bad, their not compared to how bad the later seasons appeared to be. The other thing I liked about this show is the acting; even though the acting in the earlier episodes wasn't that good, but it developed nicely by the time. Otherwise, almost all of the story lines were boring and if they weren't, the writing for the episodes itself is boring. But even though, I have to admit that this show not matter how bad it is, it's still not worser then 'Goosebumps'.
The Suite Life of Zack & Cody (2005)
Entertaining but still needed good acting and script
Before anything, this show is very entertaining and it's just the kind of show I would like to see when I feel bored or excited. The plot is unique and almost all of the story lines are interseting. I watch this show on MBC3 network TV; the channel repeat the show many times and I just don't get bored with it.
Now to the negative points: This show really entertained, it really did, but I was bothered with some things like: bad acting, poor script, and sometimes cheesy or overused jokes.
Actors I liked from the show: Brenda Song: She was boring and bad actress in Phil of the Future. But the roll of London is just like designed for her. I loved almost all of her lines in each and every episode from the show. She's funny and beautiful as well.
I liked that old maid I can't memorize her now. She's really funny and entertaining. I wish the writers carried more about this character.
Actors I hated from the show: Esteben: his performance wasn't that good and he's not funny even though he's trying to be.
W.I.T.C.H. (2004)
The Second Season Needed At Least 52 episodes
I found the first season of WITCH to be amazing and exciting and so did I found the second season to be. But for the second season, I've noticed that the writers wrote the events so fast as if they wanted to finish from the show quickly. The second season was great but if it just was written a little bit slower that would've been great. Also I wanted more seasons and episodes; why did they stop from producing this show after all it was well received so why not keep on the good work. I watched this show firstly on Arabic on children network MBC3, and I was so impressed; although I have to admit that the English version for this show was the best next to the French version (original), but I never said that the Arabic version was bad it was good.
Charmed (1998)
Best Until Season 3
I used to love charmed, I really do, it's just that I think if they hadn't bother to make various seasons, the show would've been better. The first and second seasons were the best, the dialogue was so simple and the plots were very good. Right from where Cole appeared, I started disliking this show, and I really disliked it after the mummy episode in season 5. I think the character Paige was a reason for the downhill problem, and it's not because Rose didn't play the character good, in fact Rose done a pretty good job in acting Paige; the character itself is not as good as Prue.
Also, I'd like to add that I liked Pheobe's appearance and Piper's personality more in the first and second season. Rose's appearance was just fine in the first season she appeared, but in later seasons like season 6 she started destroying herself.
The Little Mermaid (1989)
Too Many Songs
The Disney version of the little mermaid is 10 times better then the original Hans Christain version. The plot is about a little mermaid called Ariel who one day falls in love with a prince and saves him from drawning. Despite to be with the prince the poor mermaid makes a deal with the evil sea witch Ursula to transform her into a human and stay in that form for three days if she (Ariel) doesn't win the kiss of true love with her man.
I also think that the movie would've been better often without so many songs. One thing i'm shocked about, how in the world was this movie rated G for general audience. In the scene of Ariel's transformation, it's implied that she's totally nude except for the breasts; bare buttocks were briefly shown. Also there's a scene where Ursula is cursing Ariel and we see that she's topless. Isn't the way Ursula was killed too violent for young viewers. The MPAA should really becareful with the ratings.
Pocahontas (1995)
Worth Watching
I have to say that the 90s were like a golden age for the Walt Disney Company. Most of the movies that were released by Walt Disney Company in the 90s were good. Especially 'Pocahontas', this is a very good movie for the whole family. It's worth watching and especially for racialist people; they may end up knowing themselves better after watching this movie. The plot is about a Native American girl 'Pocahontas' who starts a romantic relationship with an English adventurer 'John Smith' out for gold in the land where Indians live with other men. Actually John Smith and the other men are fooled along with their leader who insists that there is gold hidden in the land; when in fact there is no gold. However, this issue starts a fight between the English men and Indians, and after Pocahontas revealed the truth to John Smith about the gold myth clearly, the both try to stop the fight between the two teams.
This movie shows that hatred and war aren't always ways to solve a problem. It gives a rich message to people from all ages. If you don't have this film then buy it, even if it was expensive, trust me you'll not regret it.
Shinderera monogatari (1996)
Memories From My Childhood
The Story Of Cinderella or 'Cinderella Monogatari (in Japan 'Original) was one of my favorite childhood shows. I used to love watching this show and i was never bored with it no matter how many time it was repeated. Unfortunately I didn't see the original version of the show completely; the show used to air in Arabic in the Space Toon Network. It was dubbed by the company related to Space Toon Venus Center for artistical production and distribution. The Venus Company totally altered this anime, but even though, Cinderella Monogatari was totally successful in it's altered version and original after I watched some episodes later in Japanese.
This anime is seriously something you can enjoy with your whole family.
Yeah and FYI: Stay away from the Arabic version of this show; you're head may be exploded from over recurring scenes and translated script.
Alice in Wonderland (1951)
Worst Disney Movie Made While Walt Disney Was Still Alive
This is one of Walt Disney's worst movies. I was so excited to see Alice in Wonderland from Disney due to my trust that this company gives a storybook fairytale a great picture (that's not what i really think right know), and I've used to love reading Alice in Wonderland storybooks, but after seeing it, it appeared to me that there's a lot of works from books and other films on this fairytale better then this lame film. The writing for this film was very bad, and not to mention the script. I hated almost every word that came out from Alice's mouth, and not to mention the way they made the bunny react and repeat 'I'm late'. This movies gives the viewer a headache to me and makes him say the word 'LAME' after only few scenes from the movie.
I once saw this not very good cartoon movie on Alice as well from Golden films, and i was surprised to find this low-budget movie better then a Walt Disney Production. Guess high budget and quality don't serve a work dramatically does it.
Poketto monsutâ (1997)
The First Season Was The Best
I remember watching the pokemon anime back at 2002, it was first when I saw the show and it's first season. The first season is till now the best; I loved most of the episodes in season 1 and after finishing from watching the entire season, I was more then excited to watch season 2. But season 2 wasn't good as i expected neither are the rest of the seasons. This show should've had one season only; till now i'm trying to like this anime again but can't. Except for season 1 each season afterwards is just worst then the other.
A word of advice: don't waste your time watching this anime's second season and onwards.
Gümüs (2005)
Noor
This show is half good and half bad. Gumus or Noor (in arabic) is a rare kind of show that drags you to watch it even if you don't want to; even though i don't like Noor that much and tried to avoid it while it's airings on MBC4, I just couldn't. It must be a force of nature.
The romance between Noor and Muhannad was good at the first episodes but it started to get really annoying afterwards. The show started going downhill starting from the episode when Noor went to jail. I think that writers of Noor could've made the episodes a lot better and especially when Noor went to jail. If it was for a Mexican show like 'Maria La Del Barrio', the jail would be a place for torture and catfights between women. While the jail Noor went to had very hospitable people which was really annoying.
From the things I liked about this show is the classie sound effect that was included.
Bride of Chucky (1998)
Simply Entertaining
The Child's Play film franchise was going downhill until this movie showed up. Bride Of Chucky was a very enjoyable movie. It's funny, much violent then the previous movies. This movie was also new in the series to have sex which wasn't even mentioned in the previous films. The story is better in teleplay then lines.
What was also new and eccentric in this movie, a sex scene between two dolls.
I just can't get enough from this movie. I rented it and owned it for a week back in 2001 in VHS and just watched it about 24 times. I also had a familiar history with this movie towards my fox. You know that spell that Tiffany chanted to give Chucky life again; i totally memorized it back as a kid and i've used to chant the same words on my toys while playing for sometime.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Prophecy Girl (1997)
The Master's Defeated
I expected a better ending for this episode, but i didn't say that the ending was bad it was good. However, there is something inside this episode never explained throughout the series, and that's how Buffy was alive again and not transformed into a vampire after being bitten by the master. She was just alive. Did the master drunk enough blood from Buffy to kill her but not enough to transform her into a vampire or what? How is Buffy alive suddenly after being dead for a sometime? Did the writer wanted to make this issue optional for the viewers.
However I like this episode but i really hoped so much for a better ending. It was also funny when Buffy said to the master that he had bad breath. I liked how Joyce encouraged Buffy to go to the prom even if she is dateless. I loved when the vampires chased Cordelia, Miss Calender, and Willow. I loved it when the vampires surrounded the library. There are many things I like about this episode, but still it wasn't very good it was average to me.
Scream 3 (2000)
The Best Scream Yet
When i usually read comments about Scream 3, i generally find that many fans of Scream aren't satisfied with the second sequel and that's just weird. This movie was very good, and the new characters and previous characters were all better in this movie. The storyline of Scream 3 is better then Scream 1 and 2.
Scream 1 was very average and i say that this movie is fit to be a TV movie; it's just too small for theatres. There isn't much action in this film and the storyline (even though not very good) is better in lines then in teleplay. Also Rose McGowen is annoying in this movie and once her character was dead i said inside THANK GOD.
Scream 2 was neither good or bad, but still better than Scream 1. This movie is fit for theatres but the way the movie was written was not good enough.
Scream 3 was the best. I guess the way the movie was written is very good. Also the truth about Sidney's mother in this movie is way darker and cooler then the other stories about Sidney's mother back in Scream 1. This movie is just enjoyable and really its worth buying on DVD.
I hope Scream 4 would be more similar to Scream 3 in writing, but of course development would be expected.
I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998)
Not the worst sequel but still not good
I Know What You Did Last Summer was good but yet it needed more hard work in writing. This movie even though it's not the worst but is bad. The storyline was okay, the movie was very different then the original, but it wasn't successful in betting the original (which wasn't even very good as i mentioned).
I think Brandy's acting is bad in this movie; I don't see many works for Brandy but I saw her in a TV series before and she was annoying and her acting wasn't good. But her acting in that TV series which I can't remember it's name or even if it was a TV series, was better comparing to her acting in this movie. The movie was just getting interesting when Brandy's boyfriend was killed and it's only three female characters lift. But right after that it just went downhill.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Wish (1998)
Not Very Good
The first time 'The Wish' was aired on television, I watched yet but haven't really concentrated cause we had a party in our house and I had guests and everybody was talking; even though i just saw few clips from the episode, i directly thought of it as a good episode that i need to see again carefully. And I did saw it again carefully when it had a re-run few days ago from now. It was good but not as good as i remember. Willow's attitude when she was a vampire was sourt of annoying and slightly funny in this episode, vampire Willow's attitude was better in the episode 'Doppelgangland'. However vampire Xander slightly got me to my last nerves; when Xander played bad in the sixth episode of the show's first season 'The Pack', it was much better. I also think that the ending of this episode was so simple; it could've been written much better in my opinion. I disliked the master's plan of a new invention to have fresh blood it was just so laaaaaaaaaaaame. I also hated the sound effect which appeared when Buffy interrupted the master's party and kicking some ass.
However, I probably should mention what i like about this episode. I liked Cordelia in the scenes where she was trying to avoid the scooby gang and mainly Xander. I also liked how Buffy showed up in the other world. I also liked the scenes involving Giles and Demon Anya.
