Hurricane Bianca: From Russia with Hate (2018)
Rex WRECKS it
I don't know who this Rex...thing...is, but why was it necessary?? What did it add? It's creepy, it can't act and whoever wrote its lines should equally be fired. I was hoping it would just be a passing character when it first appeared on screen (for WAY TOO LONG, I'll add) but no...it appears to have remained in the film. I don't know for sure as I eventually quit watching because of it. That thing should never work in entertainment ever again. Sucks because other than that I really liked the cast--especially Rachel Dratch. How did no one see that this 'Rex' character was ruining the film whilst they were filming it?? The casting director should also never work in Hollywood ever again.
Pharma Bro (2021)
Was this doc supposed to make me like Martin Shkreli??
Because if so, it failed. BTW it's disingenuous to pretend to be someone's friend (bringing him beer) whilst wearing a hidden camera in order to gain access into dude's apartment!
Countdown: Inspiration4 Mission to Space (2021)
"Like...like...like...like..."
Had to abort after 15 minutes because of the incessant use of the word "like" by Jared Isaacman and his wife with the awful sweater. Learn to like speak without like constantly like using filler words, people. It like makes you sound like really stupid and it like becomes like really distracting to the listener!
The Phantom (2021)
Can't hear the dialogue
Tried watching this but the music and sound effects are WAY too loud and drown out the dialogue so I had to abort. Whoever did the sound design should never work again.
Wahl Street (2021)
Vanity project
I mean I guess it's watchable if you're bored enough (I obviously was), but this is nothing more than a self-promotional vanity project. Watching dude try and convince himself (and us) that the world needs yet another company selling $45 plain t-shirts is both comical and sad. I also liked the way he's raising his kids in a 30,000sqft Beverly Hills mansion whilst talking about instilling strong work ethic in them. Good luck with that?
My Favorite Shapes by Julio Torres (2019)
Cool laugh track, bro.
I didn't even watch the full movie--just the trailer--and I can tell you that all of that UPROARIOUS laughter at his lame "jokes" (if you can even call them that) is a laugh track. Beyond lame!
Generation Wealth (2018)
Gross.
This would've and could've been an interesting documentary...if the filmmaker had actually stuck to the subject! Unfortunately, 50% of the time she can't seem to resist turning the camera on herself and her uninteresting family to talk about subjects (ie HERSELF!) that have absolutely nothing to do with wealth. "Mom! Turn the camera on and let's talk about ME!" Massive violent eye roll. I eventually just kept my finger on the FF button and would simply skip over the parts where the filmmaker inexplicably and unnecessarily started talking about herself. So self-indulgent. As a rule I do not like documentaries where the filmmaker (or their family) is also the subject--and Generation Wealth is the perfect example of why.
PEN15: Ojichan (2019)
Funniest thing I've seen in a LONG while!
This episode was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I haven't laughed so hard in years. I can't believe it's the lowest rated episode by IMDB users, but welcome to 'Murica.
