Peterloo (2018)
A sad revelation of British government
Such a shameful accounting of British history, the corrupt and immoral government, and a shocking truth of how the working class were treated. Seems a piece of history that has been swept under the carpet!
Hosnestly portrayed, well acted, and should be shown in school history classes.
Bloodlands (2021)
Overly complicated with lots of holes
All quite improbable and ending with little to no justufucation. Disappointing.
Now You See Me (2013)
Pure escapism
Great cast, and refreshing to immerse yourself into something beyond reality, yet fully entertaining.
Jack Reacher: Never Go Back (2016)
Tom Cruise Is No Jack Reacher
Can only assume that as Tom Cruise was the producer, must have given Lee Child quite the handout to cast him as Jack Reacher. Sorry, but Tom Cruise just cannot convince the viewer who has been a fan of Lee Child's Jack Reacher novels that he can be Jack Reacher. The film itself is noth8ng special, just filled with too much special effects, detracting from the storyline.
Let's just hope Tom Cruise does not undertake another Jack Reacher role.
Hang Ups (2018)
Dreary, tired and very unfunny!
A big struggle to make it through the first episode, thinking surely it must get better, but unfortunately not. Chaotic, crude, not a laugh to be had, and just very old hat. A bore from start to finish.
Keeping Faith (2017)
Great Acting, Haunting music
Eve Myles is just terrific, and quite a few twists that keep you looking forward to the next episode. Certainly one of the better dramas on tv this summer. Glad it was such a hit overseas.
The Way Back (2010)
A captivating epic
Some truly wonderful photography with impressive scenery nicely enriching the spectacular story of an inspiring escape across the wilderness of Siberia. A truly impressive story of courage and conviction. Although disappointing to have not heard or had a caption of what happened to the other survivors at the end of the film, it still was a touching end. No bother about how authentic the story was, so long as it does not purport to be. Each of the characters were very believable and well acted. I felt the music score could have been more dramatic enhancing some of the landscape scenes. The length of the film was fine, and I did not find myself at all bored and looking at my watch.
