Halo (2022)
Most Recent Season is Ugh
What is going on with the writing on this show? Look, I get that they are trying to expand the world of Halo, but dear lord they barely done ANYTHING with the covenant so far this season. Why the second episode and most of the first episode are mainly backstory and political intrigue and doing almost half an episode to a character being "tough" enough to deal with her injuries.... It got so annoying because they just keep focusing on the wrong stuff. Like, case in point, here is this super intense moment with marines and Spartans aiming weapons at each other and what do we swap to? Some old guy getting his face shaved while cracking jokes about peeing....
Yup, that's what I came here for, not Sci fi action with guns and futuristic battlefields and high stakes, I wanna watch Master Chief stand around arguing about wanting to fight with his boss and stories about side characters....
The System (2022)
Generic Movie done better
Dude this was so bad. 1. The acting is subpar at best, Terrance Howard seems to just repeat the same lines and have the same face for like 90% of the movie.
2. The plot makes zero sense. No really, I can't explain it well because its not really explainable? They want him to "expose" the crime going on but its so utterly blatant they don't need him to be in prison to prove whats happening? Like, everyone in the prison knows....
3. Its like a combination of various 90's movies, but they mis-mash their plots together so you don't really have a cohesive 90 minute story.
So much just doesn't make sense.
Go watch literally any other "guy gets put in prison for a death match" movie and it is better than this. Even the fight scenes were awful.
Hidden Strike (2023)
They had a plot, we just don't know what it was.
Seriously the tag line for this movie is hilarious for how terrible the plot is.
Not only does this movie have one of the most convoluted plots I think I've seen, but some of the best moments and exciting moments they could have had, they had as a montage at the end of the film for gods sakes.
They never really explain how this plot was supposed to work, or what this "facility" was, or why they needed to use a USB to lock/unlock the facility.
And a 4 digit code for a security code to run the entire facility is insanely dumb it kind of blows my mind that was what they went with.
There is a lot of potential that was there, that was never really realized. I give it a 4 star because the action scenes in it are pretty top notch but that's par for any Jackie Chan action film.
Superman & Lois (2021)
Immense superman fan, disappointed
I was loving the first part of the series when I learned about it. Meeting Clark's kids, moving to Smallville, the introduction of Yellow kryptonite in the show and all of that made me think this was going to be an action series.
BOY WAS I WRONG. This show has devolved. At most, each episode actually focuses on Superman for MAYBE 5-10 minutes.
Don't get me wrong I love Tylers version of superman, I WANT MORE OF IT. I'm tired of hearing about all the drama between the teenagers and his son just being a Whiny kid all the time....
Introducing Lois's cancer was a mistake in my opinion. If I wanted a serious drama about cancer, I'd go watch a drama. I came to watch Superman fight bad guys and raise his kids. It just feels like it's taken away from the show's focus, Superman, and focused it almost entirely on Lois.
Dragonball Evolution (2009)
A Fan of the Series Upset with Direction.
Well, First off, lets see... Goku's first encounter with piccolo was when he was like 7, and he started changing to monkey boy at a much younger age. Also, he wasn't hidden there to awaken at eighteen, oh, and he had a tail, what happened with the tail man?
Not to mention, he lived in the future where things were all mostly capsule. I think the best series that could have been put into a movie was NOT with piccolo, although I think he should've been involved as a MINOR character, but with Vegeta. Who, by the way, would have had a much more interesting storyline, being that hes the last prince of the saiyans and one of the only surviving members of that race besides Goku, and they could have had Goku change to the monkey middle of the movie, and super saiyen later in the movie. That would've been so much better.
The special effects were SEVERELY lacking, but I think that is because this must've been a lower budget movie (especially when looking at piccolo whoever designed that costume for piccolo must've NEVER watched the series, the dragon ball character never looked like that, ever, he looked like a cheap green knockoff of piccolo). Master Roshi was okay, but I don't like the casting for the part, it would've been much better handled in the hands of someone older.
The guy that played Goku was actually pretty decent. Chi-Chi was decent as well, although Goku usually let her beat his butt and let her have his way cause he loved her so much. Bulma falling for Yamicha was almost comical and WHERE WAS KRILLEN!!!!!!@! Krillen was one of my favorite characters by far and he was no where to be found.
All in all, I think this movie had potential, but unfortunately they let the script be written by screenwriters instead of fan boy screenwriters.
