Sputnik (2020)

It's good, but the story is too predictable.

Started great, a mix of an x-files episode and Alien . Nice . I like the whole USSR atmosphere. Technically, the movie looks and sounds great, the acting is good. My only issue is with the story, it should have been smarter or/or less predictable.

Overall good, very impressed with Russian cinema , it looks Hollywood level. I watched it in Russian and English subtitles.

Dark (2017–2020)

They really screwed up the ending

This makes zero sense (considering the universe). The ending of the 3rd season ruined it for me. Adam, Marta and the woman can't know that something is happening for the first time. Whatever happens, it means it didn't work because they exist already. What should have happened: Yonas and Marta go to save the family from the accident on the bridge but somehow they cause the accident and so it starts all over again. They already exist to go and stop the accident and this itself means it did not work. Instead they went with happy ending.. sigh..

Hellboy (2019)

Sure, the previous Hellboys were better, but I still enjoyed this one. CGI is somewhat on the cheap side and usually looking like a PC game. In the end, I sat and watched 2 hours of it and enjoyed most of the time. There are few scenes with gore and violence and usually this leads to low score .. I'm fine with that. I think it's a 7..gave it an 8 because of the unfair score (my opinion).

Chernobyl (2019)

Minus 1 for not doing it in Russian.

It loses a lot of the authentic feeling when they all speak English. I still like it a lot, but I really wish it was in Russian. I don't speak Russian, but I'm fine reading subtitles.. Maybe they did it for the American audience ?(no offense, I just think most of them would skip a TV show not in English..I may be wrong).

I was bothered by the guy with the orange shirt and mustache.. He just didn't feel truthful to me. It sounded like he was making things up on the go.

Mirage (2018)

It's really the same concept, just less interesting and worse acting. It's wasn't bad , just not very original. I was hoping there would be some twist but it was all pretty predictable and less logical than the original (considering it's a sci-fi).

A Quiet Place (2018)

Was great until the last 10 minutes or so.

I wanted to give it lower score just because of the stupid ending, but movies these days are so bad that I guess it deserves an 8 for the rest of the movie.
