Fantastic Four (2015)
I'm a big fan of Marvel movies but this is awful!
I don't know where to start on this.
First let me tell you that I 'am a big fan of Marvel movies. I support X-men movies. But this is really embarrassing. What happen to this movie? I keep asking myself that. Did they rush it? How they come up to that kind of story?
I was really not excited about this new Fantastic Four movie when they announce the cast. People keep insulting it but I still have my faith on it because there are rumours that there will be an x-men and Fantastic Four crossover.
So it happened. I watched it and I was really shocked. It's really boring, it has Lots of conversation and the fighting scenes were bad! Epic Bad!
The story focuses on Reed who dreams to make a teleportation device. Franklin Storm, saw his potential and took him as a student. He met Sue, Johnny and Victor in Baxter Foundation. Ben Grimm is his best friend since they were kids. Accident occurs in the other dimension where they got their powers. Victor wants to stay in the otherworld while planning to destroy the earth. The fantastic Four stops him, end of the movie.
See how quick that was? And nonsense it was?
I rate it 50%. Seriously. The effects were good, it's just the story and the fighting scenes were worst! It's the worst movie next to X- men Origins: Wolverine.
Paper Towns (2015)
There is something wrong with it but its a good movie
Paper Towns is a story of Quentin, a high school student guy who has crush on his neighbour Margo. The story revolves when Margo went gone and he decides to search for her.
I haven't read the book yet, in purpose due to see how it really differs from watching it first before reading it. Though for all we know, maybe not all the scenes from the book are included in the movie so it was not really a big deal if you watched it first. As a critics and audience, I say I can rate it 85% due to great acting and funny humor and hilarious jokes. Though the story isn't that well complete; like what I said at the beginning the whole plot is to search for missing Margo, but when finally found her. Nothing happens at all. It's like there's no climax or even no twist. Maybe the twist is that Margo didn't mean to make Quentin find her but it was a lame plot twist.
I enjoy it. It's a watchable movie for young ones. The first part was kinda boring but when the road trip starts, it was hell of an entertainment!
Ant-Man (2015)
Sweet taste of a good movie
let's talk about ant-man. let's admit it, he is one of the least favorite avengers from the comics. ii was having second thoughts if I'm going to watch this film or not. but its part of the marvel universe and a new added to the story so I give it a shot.
it was a good film. mix with Paul Rudd comedic side together with his funny buddies. I'm not amaze about the action scenes coz I'm not fan of ant-man's power and ability. but the story fascinates me, it talks about s deep past of Hanks relationship with the SHIELD including Howard and Peggy. about his wife Janet, the wasp. its a big disappointment that they killed her off but deep inside I know she is alive somewhere in other realm. but still there's a possibility she will appear in Agent Carter and I'm looking forward to that. at least we have Hope Van Dyne as the new wasp or red queen in present day which makes me want to see the future marvel films. more bad ass girls.
80% is enough and I enjoy it. not a big fan but Ant-man is a great piece of the team avengers and team Captain America in Civil War. his talent will be come handy in the future.
Jurassic World (2015)
Not your typical Jurassic Film.
I can tell you that this is not your typical Jurassic film like in the books or in the previous film. This movie has its realistic, bold and dark style of the story. Unlike the previous one which focus only on 'how we going to get out on this island?' thingy. This one is special; I rated it 90% for its unique flow of the story having equally handled the suspense, drama and comedy in every scenes.
Lets talk about how its different from the other Jurassic film. This movie didn't focus on dinosaur at all but tackles about the effect of having a dinosaur to this era. Relationship between families and most of all the relationship of two different creatures. Animals and human relationship is hard to break and only few people experienced that, and that's what i felt between Owen (Chris Pratt) and his raptors.
The characters; the siblings Gray and Zach and their brotherly relationship were a good way of remembering the Jurassic park 1 event with Tim and Alex. Claire's character was like the novel version of john Hammond. Dr. Henry Wu has a big comeback and it surprises me that he works on the dark side.
The dinosaurs; although they said Baryonx, metriacanthosaurus, edmontosaurus, suchomimus and even pachycephalopsaurus are in the film. I haven't seen a glimpse of them. I was really hoping for baryonix but they failed me. Indominous Rex is the bad guy, well she really does and it's terrifying. I always jump on my seat in a pulse pounding scene. Mosasaur is the real hero together with the t-rex. I couldn't tell you more about it. The velociraptors shine in this one and they are like hero dogs in the movie.
Overall it was a blast and perfect film for dinosaur lovers although for those who are not fan of Jurassic world franchise, you might get boring in some conversation due to it needs an explanation on what's really happening in the whole story. It's for your own good so better listen. I'm looking forward to the sequel and I hope there will be.
Pitch Perfect 2 (2015)
Pure Perfection
Pitch Perfect 2 was a pure perfection that will entertain you til the end of the film. I rate it 10/10 for its funny humour and jokes. I laugh at the jokes and didn't find it boring. It has full of life and it gives a new texture to a musical film. Like High School Musical meets Step Up movie. The mix of music and conversation was just equal and there are no dead scenes at all. They blow us away with their opening performance and the final performance exceed to the top.
I enjoy this than the first one. It's funnier and the flow of the story is not only focus on Becca but also to the whole group. Rebel Wilson was the saviour of the movie. She acts as the clown and portrays her funny awkward character well. I enjoyed her with the new girl Flo, who will make you laugh with their punch lines.
Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
New Characters Entertains me.
Avenger: Age of Ultron was an entertaining sequel with lots of surprises (only for non comic fan). I'm rating it flat 90 for its incredible effects and well played tag team fights. Let's talk about the three new members.
First are the twins, Quicksilver is different from XDOFP quicksilver. I'm a big fan of x-men and I don't want to be around bias. I prefer the XDOFP Quicksilver, in terms of how they show his power. I was confused how the others can keep up with Pietro as they slow him down showing his power. The effects are kinda weird with white beam of light while he run, I think it's too much for comic counterpart effect. He might be dead but I'm 100% sure he will resurrect for somehow.
Scarlet Witch is the only reason I watch the movie. I was surprise the way the twins speak dye to their funny accent. They made Wanda not that powerful only capable of hypnotizing and projecting telekinesis with her hex bolts. The costume was superb; it's like X- men Evolution costume. Though they treasure her real potential, keeping her real power in the future film. I enjoy her fighting scenes and looking forward to see her probability manipulation in the future.
And finally The Vision, that was the most interesting way on how they introduce him. It blows away my mind. It's pure awesomeness with the use of mind stone to connect in infinity wars. What I enjoy about him is the connection of him and Wanda throughout the end of the film. I'm sensing decimation or M-day if that happens, though it's impossible because only mutants might affect her curse. About the original avengers, they've been used well. Got their separate story and still having a fun way to keep away the seriousness in climax part.
How about the cameo of Ulysses Klau? The Black Panther is on his way to the big screen and I guess it will be an interesting one too.
The mid credit scene is just the beginning of thanks search for infinity stones. Not exciting in my case coz I know it already. I thought it will be Spiderman saying hi to the avengers or the defenders joining same ad ant man. Other than that, I enjoy it. 60% action and 40% conversation which only for hulk and black widow love story made it more romantic.
Focus (2015)
I thought it was a waste of money but NOT!
It's not my intention to watch this movie. I just being forced coz I'm not the type of person who is into action and stuff. I thought it was a waste of money but I was wrong.
The story focuses on Will Smith's character being a con-man with his work partner played by Margot Robbie. They separated for years and accidentally meet each other together with their own agenda.
I rate it 90% due to it funny humor and great acting. Margot Robbie is a piece of perfection from land down under. She is natural and sexy!. And about the story, the flow was great with no dead scenes at all. Well, maybe just 10% of the movie but it was freaking entertaining.
Must Watch!
Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day (2014)
Funny movie for kids and kid's at heart.
It was a good family movie for KIDS and kid at heart. Kinda reminds me of Diary of a Wimpy Kid trilogy in a different way. The movie talks about Alexander, a kid who thinks his life is a big mess until he accidentally wishes to make her family experience what his life to be in just one day.
It's not really a pure comedy with lots of laugh and stuff but there are scenes that you might find funny while the other half is awkward. I rate it 90% due to the fact that I can relate to his problem and we both love Australia so it's a plus for my rating.
Maybe you might find it boring, but I think it was made for the kids who can relate to his situation and I 'am one of it so I like it. Not the best but it was entertaining good.
Jupiter Ascending (2015)
Not entertaining but the effects were great
I rate this movie 30%. Pretty rotten in my perspective due to confusing story line. I did have lots of whats and how questions throughout the movie which totally made me fell asleep at the middle of the action.
It's the story of a girl named Jupiter who lives in Earth and happened to be the queen of some planet in the outer space. What i don't get was the origin of the universe and how did they end up with that idea, Totally confusing and nonsense.
There's a lizard villain that reminds me of the monster from zathura. And the aliens who can speak humans. The action isn't that great but the effects were superb.
Love, Rosie (2014)
Another good movie about loving your best friend.
A new film that deals with friendship and love. The trailer fascinates me but the whole story feels like predictable and cheesy.
There are lots of events until they reach the end of their story. From the pregnancy to the teenage year of her daughter. I can say its predictable due to the fact that every time they had a chance to be together, a new conflict between their relationship occurs. If im not been mistaken, it happened 3 times but im thankful they end up happy together.
I rate it 80% due to lots of extended scenes which at some point helps the viewer to understand more about the growth of the character but still it turns out to bore some people.
Feast (2014)
Didn't expect my emotion in this film.
I was in the theater and about to watch Big Hero 6 when this came out first. My dog died a week before and it remind me of him.
The story was simple yet it has a deep meaning on what's the connection of the master and the dog. First on how strangers become friends. How friend got replaced by a better person. How friendship fix everything; and a sacrifice to make your friend happy even if its painful in your side.
Though there was a sad tear jerking scenes, but at the end its still a happy ending to that meat lover dog. His sacrifice his being a meat lover for the happiness of his master, but in the end it paid off and got his grand prize.
Big Hero 6 (2014)
For sure at the end of the film you wanted to have your own Baymax.
If you're a fan of How To Train Your Dragon or Rise Of The Guardian, I bet you going to like this film. Its pack of comedy, action and adventure with a splash of drama.
Big Hero 6 is the story of a boy name Hiro Hamada who befriended with his brother's (Tadashi) invention Baymax, a health care robot. along with his friends Honey Lemon, Wasabi, GoGo Tamago and Fred, they plan a mission to arrest the man who is responsible for his Tadashi's death.
I had laugh throughout the film. it was a roller coaster of emotion which at first you will laugh out loud and then find your self sobbing and then burst to laugh again. this film will surely make you hell crazy.
As a movie lover I already have some ideas about the twist with this kind of film but at some point it manage to balance everything and will never disappoint you. For sure at the end of the film you wanted to have your own Baymax.
Dolphin Tale 2 (2014)
An inspirational sequel
Its a story of hope and new beginnings. The first film tackles about life goes on even in hardest times and friends came to your life unexpectedly. This sequel manage to give a new arc of the story and focus on choices and friendship.
Sawyer's story tells us that our life never stop in one side of it. Life goes on and we should try to explore it. There is a life other than in the box that were living. Don't be afraid to try new things because it will help us to grow to be a better person.
...and who doesn't inspired to swim with the dolphins and rescue animals after watching it? Because it inspired me a lot that we are all created equal and we need to show love to one another even we look different to each other.
Juste une question d'amour (2000)
Why do people cant understand that love is magical?
This is a story of Laurent dealing with his conservative parents about him being gay.
This film tackles the modern way of family issue about their son being gay. I couldn't understand why they didn't just support them or be happy about them. I feel bad to people who experiences the same situation like Laurent. His Dad prefer him to leave than try to understand him. Mom are the heroes of the family they have heart to support their son although at some point its still hard for them to accept it.
Its love. Why people can't understand the power of it? We are all human being who feel this love to a human being. Why its hard to some people that, we love the person because they share love to each other and not because of its gender?
Love is being felt by two person.Love is love no matter who you share it with. It just happen that the person he loves is in the body of a guy, but its just the same love like girl loves the guy or guy loves the girl.
We just need to be open-minded. If we think how wrong it was the gay to the society. What do you think they feel for themselves? and those who still afraid to come out because they doesn't want to be abandon by the people they love.
This movie was a message for the parents to treasure their gay son. Not because they are gay but because they are their kids. Came from them and the one they take care of.
Get Real (1998)
Magnificent! A real movie without any mixed of fantasies..
I become a fan of this kind of movies after I watched "The Way He Looks" and so far, the two are pure masterpiece.
The story was just about a gay guy named Steven who is looking for love and accidentally found it on John, the guy in school who still confused about his sexuality.
SPOILERS!
Although the two didn't end happily ever after and I can understand the reason. Steven knows he is gay since he was 11 years old. he accept it to himself that's why he is looking for a guy to get along with. On the other hand, John is confused. He had almost experienced with gay when he was a kid yet he still declining because he can't accept it.
In the end, he still chose to be with her girlfriend but told Steven that he is the only person he loved and he is the perfect guy for him. Steven understand the situation and just moved on to face his problem dealing on how his Dad will react about it. though his Mom understand it.
It ended just like that and I was hoping for more explanation. The best scene of all would be his speech when he come out to everyone in school. He is right about gay thing. Its just love between two person. He still a person who needs to be accepted and loved by their family and friends which people nowadays should be open about this situation.
Hoje Eu Quero Voltar Sozinho (2014)
PERFECTION! pure masterpiece
I can't believe i'm actually like this kind of story. It's simple yet the flow of the story goes on. It's not boring and predictable.
Its not like your ordinary LGTB movies, but it focus on its simplicity and being innocent. You can actually understand what the movie wants to show you and it is direct to the point, with no dead scene at all.
It's the story of a blind guy named Leo who share a good friendship to his best friend, Gi until a new student Gabriel came. Gi loves Leo but Leo was attracted to Gabriel instead and they lived happily ever after like a fairytale story.
It's funny how being in a friend zone was tackled in here yet it ended well because of the real friendship of the three.
I could watched this all over again. I will not getting tried of reading a subtitle for this. Great job!
The Fault in Our Stars (2014)
A book that comes to life
The Fault In Our Stars was literally a book comes to life. It was a great movie but for a non-book reader it was a purely perfection. I read the book before they planned to make a film adaptation of it and I can say to you that it tore me apart that time. The book did well making me cry like a baby girl as I read it.
I rate it 95% for its perfect plot. The acting was great although I never imagine Shailene as Hazel and Ansel as Gus, but they still did the role right. For a typical Romance/ Drama/ Comedy movie, this is entertaining and it will be more, if you haven't read the book first. The problem is that I know what will gonna happen so in my case or the book readers, there is no suspense at all.
There is just a little disappointment when the scene from the book, most are tear jerking scene and my favourite scene are missing. Most of it is those unforgettable lines and quotes which I was hoping to see in the big screen.
The first was Isaac's talking computer. Those moments are funny yet it was not including in the film. John Green's cameo is missing too and the complete scene of the funeral where Hazel opens the casket. The lines like "My thoughts are stars I can't fathom into constellations."; and "I love you present tense."
Moreover, you will enjoy the film. I just can't decide whether you need to read the book first before watch the movie, but I can tell you the book brings you lot of emotion and tears.
Godzilla (2014)
I prefer the previous Godzilla movie.
Godzilla should be one of my top movies in my list yet the trailer looks dark and getting deeper which I lost interest at some point.
I did watch it and it was good. It's kind of the movie that i will not gonna watch again. I'm a fan of Godzilla in animated series. Lots of giant monsters and stuffs. The version of this Godzilla is mixed of that cartoon and the new one. The monsters are feeding radiation and nuclear components which based on my point of view were gaining them these special talents. As far as I remember, Godzilla has sonic scream that cause explosions but in here, he can blast blue fire or energy flame.
The appearance isn't that fascinating. He is bulky like the original Godzilla. I prefer the looks of the previous Godzilla movie. What I like was there is not just one monster in the film. There are three of them and it's a rumble every time they met.
I can say its 80% conversation and 20% action. That's how boring it was for me. But still most people love it, but not me. I still like the first version of Godzilla, this version has only an awesome effects, but not entertaining.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)
Just like Ironman 2. Important story yet not entertaining.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 earns mixed emotion based on my perspective while watching it. It was a great film but lacks of great fighting scenes. There are some fighting scenes and the Green Goblin Vs Spider- man is the best of all but only 40% are action, 60% are just conversation.
I do understand that due to marketing and a way on how they going to show how Gwen Stacy is important to Peter, and she needs to be accepted and attached by the audience.
The acting was perfect. The story was dark which a new concept for Spider-man series. The death of Gwen Stacy gave me pain inside me. Andrew Garfield's acting really got me. The villains are well used in this one. Electro looks cool with the effects but still boring and same as Rhino. Green Goblin fascinates me although it was just like the same Goblin from previous spider-man franchise.
TASM2 just a backbone of the series, not that entertaining but it was important part of the story that needs to be broaden in the future film.
X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)
Best X-men Movie of all but still need more time to explain things.
X-men: Days of Future Past is the newest installment of the X-men series, occurring after the events of both X-men: First Class and The Wolverine. As a fan, I'm so pump to see the film but before they finished the whole thing, there's been a lot of changes as they film it, which made me, think twice on the outcome of the whole film.
It was a perfect film with 95% of rating. A truly masterpiece with lots of actions and amazing effects. There are just some flaws that I couldn't ignore as a fan.
First of all was the removing of Anna Paquin's character Rogue. She is the main reason I really wanted to see the film. But when they cut her major scene and put her as a cameo, it really breaks my heart. She appeared in the film for 3 seconds. She smiled and walks away with Iceman. THAT'S ALL. While on the other hand, Jean Grey and Scott appears to and has a minimum of 2 minutes with dialogue in the film. In my part, it was unfair. Two of them died in the previous movie. Rogue survived and has only one scene but yet they ditch her.
Second was the explanation on how Professor X survives/reborn after his death on X-men: The Last Stand. I didn't notice if they explained it but I'm pretty sure there is no exact explanation about it.
Third and last was the explanation on how Kitty gains time travelling power? I'm going to buy it if it's Rogue become the main facilitator of the time travel. But Kitty? Phasing is not related to Time travelling.
Furthermore, I enjoy the film. 2 hours is not enough for me. Blink's portals are awesome!; Sunspot's power works well with the effects, just too bright like the sun and not darker like in comics; and Warpath, trust me, no one noticed he could fly but more like fighter, but still amazing. I have lots of question that needs to be explained through deleted scenes and interviews but moreover, I can assure you that you will enjoy the movie from start to finish.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
Its good but not like Ironman 3 and Avenger level.
I' am not a big fan of Captain America so I'm not totally into it. I only got my eye to Black Widow, the other are invisible to me. It was a good movie with lots of actions and explosions. Although, there is lack of special effects due to the characters only fights hand to hand combat and guns. The story is quiet interesting which tackles about his past life and problems. I totally smell Civil War storyline behind it but still ended differently. As a marvel fan, there s no plot twist when watching marvel movies so everything is predictable in my mind.
What amazed me and complete my day are the after credits. They show the Maximoff twins which excites me at all, yet disappoint me on seeing Pietro with black hair. Wanda looks creepy which totally perfection. Loki's scepter is involve too which I'm guessing the cause of the Ultron comes to life and gain mind of its own.
I can say you will enjoy the movie if you love action but it's not an Ironman 3 or Avenger level of movie.
Thor: The Dark World (2013)
It was a fantastic movie yet boring
It wasn't a very good start but the ending was superb. Thor 2: The Dark World was a fantastic movie yet boring. It was like Iron Man 2 which is full of dead scenes and conversation. The movie consists of 50% talking and 50% amazing fighting scenes. lots of funny parts though.
I'm not a Thor fan. I'm a Loki fan that's why I'm seeing the movie. The movie was very deep which is at some point, non fans couldn't understand at all like fans need to explain the scenes for them to understand. The CGI effects were too bright and look unrealistic at all. They should've worked on it.
The story focuses on the battle between Malekith, who wants to destroy the universe and the Asgardians after taking the Aether from Jane Forster's body. Loki helped Thor and used the opportunity on becoming a king.
The mid credits scene explains the Aether as part of the six gems on the Infinity Gauntlet. The Collector kept it which leads to the storyline of "The Guardian of The Galaxy" in the future where we might see Thanos using it to conquer the universe.
I rated it 80%. Not bad for a Marvel Movie.
The Way Way Back (2013)
Perfection is the word!
It's no doubt that this film echoes the movie of 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' in some ways. That's what I've thought after watching the trailer and apparently, it is. It's a movie that you can watch all over again, there is no dead scene like most of the movie and the mixed comedy and drama get along well throughout the film.
The actors in portray the characters really well. The guy who plays Duncan, (Liam James) was a great choice of portraying an awkward, shy kid. He fits for the role and he bring all emotion in every scene he's with. He can dance like a loser. He can transform into a cool kid. He can be too awkward that you feel embarrassed on your own while watching it, and he can step up and deliver a dramatic intense line. This guy can do anything!
Steve Carell as a mean step-father is new for me because I always see him as a funny guy. Allison Janney was fantastic; I burst to laugh to all of her scene. AnnaSophia Rob did well too but I felt the disconnection of her character, maybe because it didn't focus on her at all. Sam Rockwell, ROCKS! Portraying a cool, chilling dude with a fatherly heart blows me away. He always portrays villain character but not in this one, he proves it when he defends Duncan (Liam James) from Trent (Steve Carell).
Overall, I rated it 10/10, perfect, excellent and extraordinary film that must to be watch. Not only because I like this kind of film that focus on shy, awkward kid and summer, beach and vacations. This film is really hell good. It really deserved the awards it received.
The Internship (2013)
A good movie to watch if you are a nerd and a geek
Basically it was about technology and computer world which deals on how you survive the new generation era without the manual tradition.
As a nerd myself, I can relate to each characters which talks about X-men and Harry Potter fandoms; and a life with Internet, facebook, Google and cellphone. It was fun to watch if you can relate to everything they talk about but if not, then i believe you are in the wrong cinema.
Here's the summary of the movie. Nick and Bill lost their job and went to Google for an internship. They learn new things and make friends there and become a successful member of Google. The End.
Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters (2013)
It was actually same plot from the book with a twist
Percy Jackson: The Sea of Monsters made a big change from the first movie, The Lightning Thief. Fans thought the first one was bad enough to make a sequel but here it is now, on theaters and looks pretty great at all.
It starts on Percy introducing himself as for those who haven't watched the first movie and read the book and then jump to the flash back where how Thalia (Daughter of Zeus) sacrifice herself for Luke, Grover and Annabeth. I was scared to be honest while watching the whole film. I'm watching carefully and listening carefully to all the details that are resemblance from the book and this, what I have found out. They skipped most of the scene from the book and manipulated it. It includes the removing of the school, dodge ball scene with Laistrygonian giants (which the first encounter with Tyson as a Cyclops); Grover searching for the Pan in Polyphemus Island, The Circe Island where Percy turned into guinea pig; Tantalus in Camp Half-Blood and the Mermaid thing.
They changed some of the plots including how they used the fleece to heal Annabeth, (she should got injured by Polyphemus and not the Manticore.); Silena Beauregard is in the film but already part of Kronos army; the pills changed into a magical tape and the mist becomes a perfume.
Everything was mix up but it turns to be great after all. I like it even though it's not 98% the same from the book. They should keep doing a sequel and I believe the fans will understand how it goes that way. Some of the viewers think it sucks once they compare it to the book but if they just start learn how adding some twist on it, it will appear as good like the original at the end.
I rated it 85%, not perfect but not bad. It was great and much better than the first one. I wonder why it's still rotten.
