Deadly Yoga Retreat (2022 TV Movie)

Horrible

So this supposed exclusive yoga retreat has a Nazi psycho instructor who kills his students if they do one tiny thing "wrong" per him? And no one notices the numbers in the class dropping each day? This was more like boot camp/ torture and all these dumbos fall for it hook line and sinker? The acting was atrocious and the script was ridiculous. It wasn't even do-bad-it's-good. I like the lead actor who played Remy in real life. He's charming and funny. He was totally miscast here. And the women's characters were so dumb and clueless you didn't even feel bad for their fates. And why did the lead woman confront his psycho self while they were isolated in the jungle with no cell phone coverage? So many dumb things.

Five Nights at Freddy's (2023)

I liked it despite some holes

I enjoyed this movie was was surprised by the low ratings. I know there were some plot holes though, such as -- why did the cop show up suddenly without being summoned? (I get that it was her father's place later but at the time it seemed odd). Did Mike even call the cops after the entire place was trashed? He just swept up etc. And that was it? The cop mentioned him not locking the doors at night but we saw him lock the doors the night it was trashed. I know this is nitpicking but it seemed a bit sloppy. Mary Stuart Masterson was wasted - would have loved to have seen more of her! I thought the acting was really good overall and it held my interest.

What a horrible mess

This movie is so bad. The poor acting and overacting alone is pathetic. The "actors" who associated themselves with this steaming pile of garbage are grade Z level and the script was apparently written by a five-year-old. Laurence Fox for some reason decided to deep-six his career and jump on the Trump bandwagon for reasons unknown. He's from a renowned theatrical family and has been in some decent projects. I'm not sure why he's gone off the deep end but it seems a bit odd. I guess brainwashing travelled across the pond? The film itself is badly gone and directed. I could film a better movie on my iPhone.

Infinity Pool (2023)

I normally don't leave reviews but I really hated this movie. I only watched it because I love Alexander Skarsgård and Mia Goth. I found myself getting extremely frustrated and angry at all of the stupidity of the behavior of all of the characters in this movie. I normally can tolerate violence and illogical situations in a movie, but this one drove me to frustration, and I felt like I wasted my time watching this movie. I'm glad that Mia and Alexander said they had a great time making the film and it was a lot of fun, but it was not a lot of fun to watch. The film quality itself was high as was the direction but I just couldn't appreciate the subject matter on the content because I don't understand what the point of it was. I guess a lot of the actions went against the way I would normally behave or function, and perhaps that was my biggest objection to this movie because it was just too much. Normally that type of behavior in a movie I would suspend disbelief, but in this one it was just annoying and frustrating.

These people were idiots, all of them. The child traffickers didn't even try to be civil during the supposed weekend, and the other couple kept ignoring HUGE red flags. If the kid left the stuffed rabbit, keep driving. But No, they go back and get talked into staying. Why the hell did the mother and her daughter get back into the car with the other couple after fleeing from their house for the SECOND TIME? Why didn't the mother elbow or hit the smug child trafficker woman sitting right next to her before/after she cut out the tongue of her child? Why docilly comply at the end? How do these people get away with doing this? Not explained. Why didn't any of these kidnapped children write notes to the parents that the traffickers were scamming and say they had been kidnapped? Some of them were definitely old enough to know how to write. Sorry. Hated this.

I thought the guy ramming her car was the guy she just slept with. My mom used to get characters like that mixed up all the time. For example she kept getting Emma Thompson and Helena Bonham Carter mixed up in "Howard's End". I was wondering why he didn't recognize her at his job. My bad! Anyhoo, Overall it was okay but I wish they would have explained why she and her husband both extremely young could afford such a palatial home. I guess the open window in the wine cellar was just ... nothing? In today's world, can someone kidnap a person and put them in their back seat, murder them and bury them in their wine cellar? Doubtful. But still, I was entertained, I'm easily amused. I thought the acting was fine, production etc. Was good. I continue to enjoy AHS.

Is it just me or was Alexandra Paul horrible in this? Her "angry" scenes with the cop were cringe-worthy, and her "acting" was all over the place. Robyn Lively would have been much better in this role.

I enjoyed this movie and am a fan of Ben Platt. I don't understand all the hate. I didn't see the stage play but to me he didn't seem too old to play a HS student and his singing voice is amazing. I love Amy Adams and it was great to see Danny Pino. The cast was outstanding in my opinion.

I can do a better acting job than these people. Truly horrible! Wooden and zero emoting. Even Eric Roberts seemed to be phoning it in. Horrible CGI. I couldn't finish it and I pretty much watch anything. It was worse than a high school play. PAINFUL.

Regarding the movie, it was pretty entertaining. The acting was good and the script was fine. I enjoyed it. The plot was interesting.

This movie was so weird and disjointed. Brandi acts very odd and confrontational right out of the gate and she just MET these people, her supposed future in-laws! Also not to sound like a 90-year-old but the chauffeur/fixer guy and the dad looked alike and I kept getting them mixed up. Plus would a human trafficking operation be operated out of a luxury home with three people (and allowing clueless wives etc. To wander about freely?) Would they seriously bring the women they are trafficking to their own home? Sloppy. Also why did Aaron say Brandi was "so funny"? She never cracked a joke and barely smiled.

Why does Renee sound like she's from Fargo ND when it's based in Missouri? No one actually seems to have a Southern accent at all. Missouri is Deep South. Shouldn't someone have a Southern accent? I know this is petty but it bugged me.

I remember watching it a while ago when it first came out and now I'm re-watching it on Peacock. I'm surprised at how rude and snobby Annabelle is considering she was a muse to Alexander McQueen who was a working class boy and wasn't a snob. I think maybe she doesn't like Americans? Four of the ladies of London are American. They all seem to have loads of money. It's a fun watch.

(Edit) I just read Annabelle died in 2018, very sad. Also Scot died / committed suicide? Very sad.

I only watched this because of Eileen Davidson and Vince Van Patten who were only in it for a hot minute. The lead was competent but it wasn't convincing that a gorgeous rich gay guy such as Max would be obsessed with him. Max was handsome but kind of stiff in the acting department. What I HATED was the dog getting killed and I fast forwarded through it because that's just unnecessary and cruel. There's other things they could do to convey Max is off his rocker. I hate movies that have gratuitous animal abuse! Good day, sir!

The wig on the Momzilla was truly awful and distracting. It was like something you'd buy at the drugstore in a cheap Halloween costume bag. I'm shocked it was allowed whilst filming and no one thought to mention how bad it was. And this was based on a true story? Wow.

However, after they see an alien ship wrecked and see actual aliens, they return to the house and tell everyone, and they all are like "let's open birthday presents and have some cake. Oh and you'll come back tomorrow for breakfast?" as if nothing had happened.

La Brea (2021–2024)

I was excited to see this because the La Brea tar pits have always fascinated me but it's disappointing so far. The characters are wooden and the dialogue isn't very good. The lack of interest or curiosity in these people that fell through a huge hole in LA is astonishing. They somehow fell this great distance to a land that contains extinct animals yet have zero curiosity about how that could be possible and act like it's just another day or their car broke down in a park? When someone suggests time travel they scoff at it whilst being attacked by sabertooth tigers. There is a serious lack of humor as well. It had potential but it's pretty boring.

Paradise Cove (2021)

This movie was so bad. And I normally love bad movies. Not this one. Everything looked cheap, the script was bad, the acting was indifferent to bad. The husband opens the curtains in the bedroom to reveal an amazing ocean view and the wife is all "meh"? The homeless woman lives below them and can hear everything they say and it's not even muffled? Nice insulation. They can't get rid of the homeless woman and remove her from living right below their house and the law doesn't help? It all seemed very disjointed. They go from a burned-out shell of a house to having a gorgeous green-tiled bathroom overnight without showing any cleaning or reno. Was that supposed to be the same poo-filled meth den we saw about 10 minutes before? What the heck? PS I can't take it when animals get hurt or killed in movies. BYE!

I saw this movie on Christmas Day in 1977. I was 16 and I was mesmerized by the dancing. I still am! I bought the soundtrack and I still have it. Travolta really was an amazing dancer.

I had no idea that wine collecting was like this. It blew my mind the lengths to which Rudy went to make counterfeit wine. It was too bad they had to destroy all the counterfeit wine. I'm sure it was quite decent. 😢🍷

This season is infuriating. The first season was excellent. The second season was good but not at the same level as season one. This season is annoying the hell out of me. I'm not going into details but Matt Bomer's character is annoying. What's with the wide eye crazy all the time? Over it.

Damn what is wrong with that coach? When cheerleaders are injured, she just looks on with zero emotion. She doesn't rush to their side or even react. Something is seriously wrong with her.

The premise had such potential but this movie was a hot mess. It starts off in the 1980s with some guy having a failing computer platform that was being shut down and then some random "Bobby" messages him and wants "friends" and claims he would help this guy with his platform. Then blood comes streaming down the walls. It all made ZERO sense. Then we jump to present day where social media influencers are attending a conference and there is a room at the hotel that's "haunted" by a rabbit balloon and Bobby apparently. People die randomly and there is no explanation about the supernatural element, who Bobby is, why he died and why he's maliciously haunting this room, and so on. I can't believe I watched it all the way through but I was home recuperating from surgery. This could have been so much better. SAD!
