Thunderdome Never Dies (2019)
Must-see
A fantastic documentary about what is and probably will ever be the greatest hardcore party in the world. With stories told by the founders, organisers, legendary dj's and, of course, hardcore fans. The docu is not just about the actual party, but more so about the mindset and sense of family that is Thunderdome. The only thing that I found slightly disappointing js that there's not one girl/woman in the whole documentary who gets to share her experience and opinion. Only men... Believe me, it's definitely not just guys who love hardcore music, so it would have been nice to hear one of 'us' tell their story. But in all in all it is a must-see for every who loves this music scene.
The Pope's Exorcist (2023)
Disappointing
It has a few good shock moments, but overall was quite disappointing and predictable. And I must say they kind of lost me pretty early on when he arrived in Spain on his Vespa ... what, he drove it all the way from Rome?!
I know many Americans think you can visit the whole of Europe in a couple of days, but believe me you can't. And definitely not on a scooter.
Even though some parts were supposed to be funny, I don't think they intended it to become laughable which it did after a while. Russell Crow and the young boy clearly did their best, but the rest not so much. I must say I was impressed to hear Russell speak fluent Italian. And happy because I find it so irritating if non-English speaking characters speak English among themselves in stead of their own native language.
