Uncle Tom (2020)
This is as real as it gets.
As a dark skinned minority and used to be liberal...this documentary is a breath of fresh air. Today with liberal rage culture extremism taking over...this documentary is more important than ever. Things are said and discussed that everyone knows is true but pretend isn't. Just watch it and stop pretending to be a victim. Take responsibility for who you are and what you want to be.
Targeted: Exposing the Gun Control Agenda (2016)
Truth...
Unfortunately most of the media forums today cater more to a liberal agenda which is unapologeticly biased & ignorant in their philosophy towards firearms and "gun control". I was surprised to find an unbiased documentary on netflix on the philosophy of use of firearms and self defense today. I found Targeted to be refreshing, informative and honest. It explores a lot of what most already know. However it also brings to light clear underlying motives to disarm law abiding citizens by exploiting mass shooting tragedies that often could nor have been prevented even with the most extreme anti gun policies. Highly recommended.
Cyberbully (2011)
flaky and unrealistic
while i appreciate the message this film was going for
i don't think it portrays bullying accurately at all.
how often have you seen people whom look like the lead character get picked? its usually people who aren't conventionally attractive whom are picked on
not pretty blonde's or boyish pretty boys.
why does the mainstream entertainment industry always seem to simply slap reading glasses on a pretty boy or dress a cute girl awkwardly all while expecting the audience
particularly bully victims to identify with the characters that are supposed to represent them. its completely unrealistic and diminishes the desired message of the film.
i just don't think many bully films feel real to me. go to any school
check out the people whom are picked on for the most part and decide if people like them are accurately being portrayed in cinema. i can assure you
they're not.
while i was never bullied myself
i have defended many a nerd in my time and they looking nothing like the alleged victims in this film.
none of the characters in this film feel real. consequently
you end up not liking them much.
Frankie Starlight (1995)
Beautiful film that moved me in my youth...
This is a beautiful movie that is touching. Anne Parillaud character in this film is an innocent young girl who seems lost throughout the film searching for something, maybe love. This movie was supposed to be about a dwarf named Frankie when in fact it is really about a lost beautiful young woman named Bernadette searching for something.
This movie deserves an 8 but I give it a 10 out of 10 because I just adore Anne Parillaud and most of her work. There are some things in this world that touch you almost inexplicably and this film is one of them. Today it seems like there are fewer examples of this. Maybe this would explain why most are numb and apathetic.
One Hour Photo (2002)
A special movie...about REAL life...
This is a truely special film that hasn't got its proper recognition. People just don't get it...
This movie is about REAL life, REAL people, and REAL problems...
Hollywood has had a bad habbit of sugar coating reality. All movies have happy endings??? The good guy always win??? Everyone is beautiful???
Give me a break. Hollywood has the tendency of making the bad BAD and the good GOOD. I think most people are somewhere in the middle. I believe that everyone has a dark side and a good side. We're always so quick to judge, label, and forget about people.
A little advice to people in general, never forget anyone.
Powerful film, excellent score (soundtrack). I recommend this film to all those mature enough to pay attention.
