Familiar but still a delight
21 April 2021
I wanted to watch this primarily for Sanya Lopez whom I think is an engaging actress. She has range. Unfortunately, the role given to her here is that of a lowly nanny who gets in trouble with the higher sector of society. She handles this quite easily I think. It's not all that depressing but it's a Cinderella story, tried tested and revived in a political setting where the President of the Philippines is paired off with his children's fun, funny, but competent nanny. Gabby Concepcion is the handsome President with a golden heart for the domestic helpers with some hidden political enemies on the wayside. His mother Pilar Pilapil although a bit of an antagonist works wonders too and is a welcome talent to the roster of supporting actors. The series is not over yet but the storyline is predictable enough to say that the two eventually end up with each other. Supporting cast are generally good and complementary with not much conflict there except that because the primary actors are so telegenic, some we can do without. Sorry. It's a little shallow.

As Soon As Possible

A showcase of singing and dancing with Pinoy flavour. It's almost good but some overdo the acts. It's a nice diversion for Sunday noons though.
