Grey's Anatomy (2005)
just awful
I do not understand how people can give such good reviews to this show, or praise Shonda Rhymes to the point where now she is a feminist hero of some sort. This show is badly written, it lost all dignity a long time ago, the characters have no continuity, they behave ridiculously, so at the and of the show the spectators can get their dose of pure soap opera drama. I mean, I don't even mind the stupid medical cases and the fact that, that hospital must have been a Indian burial ground... it's the only explanation, why so many bad things happened to those people (I mean the unluckiest person in the world would kill himself after half the stuff Meredith has gone threw), or the fact that it is a God damn brothel out there...and I would not sit down anywhere in that hospital (if they put Luminol fluid and turn of the lights I bet they would not need electricity anymore)... But the characters are so badly written, they have no continuity, nobody in their right mind would go into self- pity, whiny monologues each day of their lives, and it does not reflect the real life struggles of everyday people, or set good feminist examples, as much as Shonda would like to think. It's just bad....very very bad. The best way I can define this show is a drama whore... PS: And Dr. Bailey married to Mr. Sunset Beach hunk???... in what dimension?!
Calvary (2014)
Never wanted to see a movie again, minutes after I watched it!
My expectations for this movie were medium, I saw the cast had a lot of great comedians, so I thought there would at least be a few laughs. Instead, I was surprised to see a very powerful and touching movie, absolutely great script, never a doll moment, funny comebacks, terrifyingly creepy monologues and Brendan Gleeson. Hats off to this wonderful, talented actor! I was completely sold on his interpretation of an intellectual, yet devoted priest. And also, I found it very refreshing that the character was written as sincerely religious but not bigoted. I strongly recommend you go see this movie and I can't wait to see it again!
