IMDb on the Scene - Interviews: The Terminal List (2022)
"Slow is smooth- smooth is fast"
Love this series! Great from beginning to end. Pratt was incredible. The training he went through was extensive and the attention to detail was freaking awesome. Way to go trainers! You prepared him very well. Screenplay was superb! Very well made. Perfect way to spend a " too hot" Sunday afternoon is by binge watching a great show.
Reacher (2022)
If you like Rescue 911 you'll like this version of Reacher
The writing, acting and cinematography is exactly what you would get with a series on ABC, NBC and cbs - cookie cutter and safe but above all- cheap. The Israeli series Fada has a much better story line and better acting than this B grade , tuna helper knock-off. I found Malcomb Goowin and McGill to be the best actors on the series. The others? Well they are better than my local community theater but not by much.
This series reminded me of the failed attempt by Hollywood to make a cheap version of Tom Clancy's 'Without Remorse' with Michael B Jordan. Poor writing and poor direction equals a poor visual experience.
Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2018)
I am a Tom Cruise Fan
This is a guy's flick-life raft is a sea of estrogen. Go see this movie. The action scenes are worth every penny you spend on a ticket. Oh, and get the large bag of popcorn - you're going to need it!
Fahrenheit 11/9 (2018)
I really thought this Michael Moore had something to say...
...but this is the same stuff late night talk shows have been saying for the past year and a half. Moore takes the same tired monologue that Colbert, SNL and Comedy Channel uses and makes a movie. C'mon man...you're better than this
The Nice Guys (2016)
I think IMDb should have an age profile to show which age groups like or dislike a movie.
Age: 50-65 We walked out about half way through.
I am just a regular guy - not a professional movie reviewer by any means. But I felt like I needed a shower after watching this digital equivalent of a sewer pipe spewing out feces. I really like both of these actors so when I saw the trailer I thought it might work. But gee, what a train wreck. The slow slide down the toilet began when the 13 year old daughter gets corrected when she refers to a rim-job and ended with the writers keen comedic sense with the over-use of ". . . and stuff" WoW!!! Genius!
I wonder, really wonder how hard-up Russel Crowe was to take this part. I wonder how many hours Ryan Gosling watched Dean Martin/Jerry Lewis' shtick to get his part. Man, I sure wish I could get my $17 back. But, hey, the popcorn was good.
Aloha (2015)
GIGO (Garbage In - Garbage Out)
Good gawd...what a train wreck of a movie. The stars could not carry this horrible story with so much political dialog that I wanted to leave after 30 minutes. We paid so we stayed. What a waste of my money. I knew from the beginning when a military aircraft landed at Hickam AFB, in Hawaii and there was an Honor Guard receiving a casket draped in the US flag -taps was being played and the dialog was comedic. What???? I found it kind of offensive and set the tone for the whole movie. I enjoyed the actors but I did not like the characters they played. There was no development in those characters or some whacked out plot about a missile and it being launched over Hawaii. This movie reminded me of some bad Austin Powers skit.
John Wick (2014)
Wash your damned hair...geeesh!
Reeves' grezzy hair. That's all I could think about when watching this empty, predictable, laughable waste of $35. (Popcorn, drinks and admission x2) Reeves attempt at action fighting was iffy as he hesitated on nearly all of the shots. I cannot get the scene with the NJ cop at his door after complaints after loud noises were heard coming from Wick's home out of my head. The cop just acknowledges the dead bodies on the floor and just walk off. Wick hardly shows a bruise after some horrific punches thrown his way. Wast of money and waist of time. That's two hours I'll never get back.
Kanue Reeves in John Wick is a poor attempt to get some Jason Bourne money. Next.....
When the Game Stands Tall (2014)
Good Little Movie With No Cussing and Nudity
Wont make the under 30 crowd very happy but it is a good although predictable movie that makes you glad you spent the money to see it.
It is just as much about boyhood to manhood as it is about staying true to oneself. It is about a good man that just happens to be coach and about circumstances and life that are anchored in faith - a faith that is strong enough to keep the winds of life from ripping fragile relationships to shreds.
Considering all the crap Hollywood has been putting out, this "Stands Tall" above them.
If you like sports films in general and football specifically, grab a bag of popcorn and a cold drink and settle in for a little distraction and a lot of feel-good emotions at the end. Who knows - you might learn something!
The Hornet's Nest (2014)
See This and Then Rent "Restrapo"
Both are excellent, seat of your pants, documentaries. All men and women under 30 should see this movie and then go complain about how bad they have it. These are real men and women, America's best, and they are over there kicking butts and taking names. They don't fight for some "pie-in-the-sky" idea of America but they fight for each other. They are in a bad situation and trying to make it out all in one piece. So sad that our political leaders never learn from past mistakes and tie our military's hands behinds its back. I'm not real keen on Hollywood and what comes out of it. This is not part of that pathetic industry -- great movie, worth your time AND your money.
Last Vegas (2013)
Old guys, getting older and fighting it every step of the way.
With this "A" list of actors how can you go wrong in plunking down a couple bucks and forget about life for awhile. All the crap that is being put in movie theaters and being pushed off as movies -- this is a movie you can feel good about and laugh at. Baby Boomers will like this movie. It pushes a lot of memory buttons. Good actors pull it off without a hitch. They take you by the hand and show you that growing older is not an option but growing old is -- there is nothing as comforting to the soul as old friends -- and new love cannot replace mature love. This movie also gives women a glimpse into struggles men have in getting older. Watch with a discerning eye and enjoy storytelling that makes you laugh and appreciate life all the more. Way to go Hollywood-- you finally got one right.
