The movie starts out being interesting enough but it becomes a little bit too predictable, more or less every 10minutes a character is lost, almost without exception. This makes the scenes feel scripted. Moreover it recycles character background stories as they die off, which is extremely strange for the viewer, what is the point of sharing information with us only after they die? It makes the death feel underwhelming.
The characters are also extremely weak, for example the protagonist is supposedly a wolf/survival expert but demonstrates no such skills in the movie, in fact he ends up leading everybody into danger and can ultimately be held responsible.
What is redeeming is the grit that is shown by the protagonist, even though the ends is underwhelming it is still a strong performance by Leeson, in fact he makes this whole thing worth watching. It also makes it feel like he wants to keep going so that he can honor the deaths of the other characters which is an interesting way of doing a payoff for the viewer but just as the viewer is expecting the payoff, the movie ends, which is a tragedy.
