Frozen (I) (2013)

Was hooked in the first 3 minutes, then it all want downhill. (Some SPOILERS)
3 June 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I'm not a hater, troll, or hipster, this is just my true honest opinion, I did not like this movie. When I heard the praise and how good it was, I went to see it, expecting an amazing Disney film, like the greats from the 90's, and when the movie started, it gave me that feel. But, by the time the song "Do You Want to Build a Snowman" started I just pulled out the Disney cliché list I made in my head, and I just got it angrier and angrier at the film. Let me just say that tonal whiplash can break a movie badly, and this did in my opinion, the first 3 minutes hooked me, with it's epic music, just like the opening in "The Prince of Egypt" and "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" did, but tell me something, how would you feel that immediately after "Deliver Us", they follow that song up with the song "Playing with the Big Boys", or if immediately after "The Bells of Notre Dame" they follow it up with "A Guy Like You", you will feel that the film doesn't know what tone it wants. That is exactly how I felt after the first 3 minutes I felt like they made a way different movie then the opening promised me, and it wasn't even a good kind of different film. The characters aren't memorable (bland, underdeveloped, or annoying) most of the songs are useless and annoying (there are 3 songs I can immediately tell you that could of been deleted and it wouldn't change the film, in fact it could make it better.) and adding subplots when the film should be wrapping up. It just made for a lackluster movie, and I think there are a lot smarter, intelligent, and thought provoking family movies out there. In my opinion, the second most overrated film of 2013, the first being Man of Steel.

The Best Movie of 2013 So Far
12 May 2013
I LOVED THIS MOVIE, were the first word to come out of my mouth when the end credits rolled, I was smiling through the whole thing, except when the movie is serious. Another thing is that if you're afraid the film was going to make them anti-heroes based on the trailers then worried no more because the movie shows that these are bad guys that did terrible stuff but they're so dumb that it's funny. The movie is funny but when it's serious it is and when you look at other true story movies and say "well that's odd they sort of made it a dark comedy" and this movie is a dark comedy but this is such an out there story that there's no way you can make it without it being funny. 80-90% of the movie is true to what happen in real life and it's a great example that reality is stranger than fiction. Now I do need to talk about Bay's directing and in my opinion his over the top and excessive film making work in this movie because it needs an over the top director to tell an far-fetched but true story and the excessive film making works because the movie is about American excess and I can think of no one else to directed this movie then Bay, this is a movie that's so good that it's a career defining moment for him, but knowing what his next project is it's not going to last long. The movie is also constantly narrated by everyone and it works because they all had things to say about what's happening to the character at the time. The acting is great everyone did an amazing performance and it shows that actor's that I thought could only do action movies only can also do dramatic and comedic performance, if you couldn't tell who I'm talking about its Dwayne Johnson, he did an amazing job in this movie as did everyone else. This movie felt like a lost masterpiece of the 1990's as I would of watch this with Fight Club or something along those lines. in conclusion I loved this movie and want to go and see it in theaters again, best film of 2013 so far.
