Skinamarink (2022)
Not as good as told
I had high hopes as I read it was scary on some forums and the plot seemed creepy so I took the bait. The slow burn was extremely slow. I feel like the potential here was wasted with annoying buffer time on multiple ocassion. The child actors seemed pretty articulate but scares were below par. Constant shutting of lights, tv Statics and fabric rustling was irky. I felt like it had good potential, it was good idea but the script/cinematography were just subpar. Sound folks did good job but some scenes were just cartoonist. Dialogues were mundane too.
The ending was definitely little creepy though. Definitely not watching it again haha.
Chainsaw Man: Gunfire (2022)
Hits you like a Japanese bullet train.
Man o' man, this episode was so unexpected and crafted perfectly, it is on par with 'Hero' episode from attack on titan, if not better. The tension, character depth, dialogues and emotions were super high on this one. I almost don't feel sleepy now despite being it being 1 am, that's how much adrenaline it pumped. Chainsaw man surely is the next big thing if MAPPA continues this kind of top tier animation. The power, the mystery and the premise makes it a concoction of brilliant recipe only few can savor.
Most of the characters are likeable and the dubbing team did a terrific job. Soundtrack is wow too.
Devilman: Crybaby (2018)
Worst Anime I ever saw
The animation is downright childish and low grade. The story is amateur and feels like written by a fourth grader. The music, the animation and storyline were worst than anything I ever saw. The animation was disgusting to the core and the animator definitely isn't professional enough, looks like relative of producer was hired. Maybe the animator was someone who flunked the school and was hired on low budget to manage the expenses. If the producer thinks this kind of animation will enchant the people, he is incompetent and never should again try his hands on animation. Netflix can shut it's door forever if this is the content it's gonna churn.
Barbarian (2022)
Flat tyre
Most of the movie was a predictable borefest. The lead woman was good but others were annoying as hell. The secret in the house was predictable as there are many movies which shows them. There was no thrill, anticipation or enthusiasm. It was just a concoction of childish theories which were unnerving most of the time. The forced atmosphere was almost laughable as everyone knows this wouldn't fly in today's world. The music was mediocre as well as the screenplay.
The only thing I liked about the movie that it ended well within given time so that I could sleep off the massive disappointment it has been.
Rang song (2021)
Unsettling
For some reason asian horror is mostly creepier. The palpable tense atmosphere, eastern tradition and spontaneity. The movie was a trip from start till the end. The amount of creepiness is what I hardly experienced on a same level in other horror flicks. The story is so unsettling that it might literally give you goosebumps all night. After Hereditary, I haven't experienced this eerie feeling.
The progression of events is subtle and well tied. If you're wanting to watch something creepy, unsettling and scary this Halloween, this is it. Definitely, looking forward to more from this group ahead.
White Hot: The Rise & Fall of Abercrombie & Fitch (2022)
Annoying woke-ism that's killing Netflix
This documentary is so woke and concoction of people who don't even fit the demographic A&F marketed to. There were other brands too who modeled themselves to other ethnic groups, but none was targeted. If something doesn't fit the woke narrative, consciously ignore it.
The intentional targeting here can easily result in massive law suit. Also, it has some of the most hated newspapers and their journalist in the doc such as NYT, WP and Bloomberg.
A&F was a dream of many and people loved it. If you feel so offended, maybe you need some self reflection. Just adding some people there to make it a diversified race-baiting can't fool the audience.
Such docs and content are making Netflix sink deeper than documentary.
Brahmastra Part One: Shiva (2022)
Horrible headache inducing laser show
The VFX (video effects) level in this movie is shockingly subpar. It felt like watching a low grade power rangers show with lasers coming out from everywhere. You can literally see how uncoordinated the laser outputs and inputs are. The actor is looking sideways for the laser that's in front of them. It becomes painfully bad when the lasers fly like this, and I felt like fleeing the theater.
The acting of Ranbir was cringe, Mouni or whatever her name is looked kinda weak in her role. Amitabh definitely can't act in here with weird face movements.
The last fight of all astras was like Jatra. I applaud myself for staying through the end. Nagarjuna, Srk and all the weird cameos were outdated. Not sure what's the deal with the producer/director that they had to cast such old outdated stars. Overall it's not a movie that one would enjoy if he has some sense left in him.
Disastrous torture show!
Liger (2022)
Dud Show
The movie is boring with a predictable story and obvious ending. Anyone would definitely feel mundane going through it and the songs are terrible. Ananya definitely doesn't know how to act. Tyson looks like a grandpa who needs pills rather than a punch to his face. Just buy some men's magazine if you wanna see ripped guys as acting is nowhere to be found here. Vijay lacks charm and charisma to pull off as a lead.
Overall, a movie that's better to be given a miss.
Laal Singh Chaddha (2022)
Will give you an eyesore and incessant brain hammering
I took the bait and watched an early morning show, which I immediately regretted. The writing is horrendous, the screenplay is just too mundane, while the acting makes you cringe hard. Aamir Khan probably played one of the worst roles ever, and it was horrible unintentional comedy when seriousness was tried to be portrayed. I think people would genuinely leave the movie at interval given how abysmal the acting, dialogues and writing is. Music/Songs were equally ear piercing.
Not sure how such projects get green light with so many brain's around it at work. It's a waste of money to make such copy, instead you could feed most of hungry children around the world.
People won't even watch such movie for free unless you enjoy a brain torture of 3-odd hours. Wait for more 1-day accounts from production companies giving it 10 stars lol.
Ek Villain Returns (2022)
Worse than Bumshera
When I thought nothing could stoop lower than a tripun tilak guy terrorizing Indians, Ek Villian goes even lower. John and Arjun are examples of the most talentless actors right now and they were pitted against each other for a bland and nauseous meal. It is predictable with cringe expressions. The direction was meh and editing was laughable.
These kind of movies are better for OTTs, not Multi.
Also, most positive reviews written here are by production house workers, just click on their profile and you'll see all joined in July. I therefore, will take from bollywood from now on. They're toxic and energy sucking entities.
VR (Vikrant Rona) (2022)
Gloriously Average
Yeah, I get it, the twist was good, but the whole film felt tediously long and the plot was stretched way far. Acting is cringy with typical south scenes. The overacting was sometimes embarrassing.
Sudeep was a good lead and definitely kept the movie together till the end but couldn't help audience from dozing off. There was no excitement so director is to blame.
The fight scenes were painfully and visibly weak and looked fake (you can clearly spot space between fist and enemy's face).
4 stars out of 10 for Sudeep. OTT worthy, not theater worthy.
Shamshera (2022)
Worse than watching the paint dry
Not sure if YRF actually lost their marbles or are just interested in failed experimentation? This is an epic disaster, and it's not even a joke. The songs, acting, cringe and overpowering sudden turn of events which only happen in Bollywood is a terrible joke played on audiences.
Ranbir, Sanjay, Vani are all examples of a terribly embarrassing cast here. Move on Bollywood cringe, we wanna see what south has to offer more.
Zhou (2022)
Eerie and atmospheric
It gives you the creeps that most movies wouldn't, such as paranormal activity series. This is definitely spookier than the Insidious series as well. The turn of events and well layered story makes it a must-watch for horror fan base.
It's definitely not scarier than Hereditary imo.
Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)
One of the worst movies in recent times
The acting of the whole cast is cringeworthy. Bale and Hemsworth were an awful pairing for the war, as it looked forced and cringy.
The worst part? Dry humor, which is as good as watching paint dry. Also, the kids in the movie were asked to punch above their weight to make this is a parody show.
Morbius, Thor, Dr. Strange, all these recent marvel movies were only seen due to the brand Marvel. All were mediocre and avoidable cringe fest. They should do better than scamming people.
Won't be excited anymore for Marvel. Pinning hopes on DC.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
One of the worst superhero movies out there
Dr. Strange here was absolutely weak and cringy throughout. His forced jokes, same expressions and annoying SFX were too much to handle. There were some good action sequences, but it felt like the movie was made for under 14-year-olds as adults would've a hard time enjoying it. Yes, the multiverse theme was enticing, but a poor antagonist with a disappointing ending doesn't just cut it.
Dr. Strange doesn't feel like a superhero but a mediator. Not an enjoyable experience and dialogues were just awful.
Heropanti 2 (2022)
Collapse of Bollywood
This movie is hilariously bad. We're seeing collapse in bollywood and rise of tollywood/south movie industry.
The sci fi stunts are so cringeworthy that african sci fi looks more compelling.
All over india, people are waiting for next south movie, not an bollywood propaganda peddling mediocre drivel.
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
Excellent for the fanatics
If you're fan of the franchise, this is an absolute treat. If you watch this part randomly, you'd make nonsensical comments, as most of the reviews here say. The action, plot and visual effects were stunning. Although, it did feel like a long movie, but it had to be to fit all the plot in articulately. All the characters really played the part well. Bugs was a standout actor, what an addition. The background score wasn't as impactful as previous movies imo.
Hopefully there is a part 5 soon.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
Full of Surprises but the adversaries lacked the punch
It was an exhibition of surprises and emotionally catapulting moments. The enemies were just too predictable and bland. Spidey didn't have to do a lot except get up and nail them with ease. The show stealer was Dr. Strange as everything revolves around his doing and his wit was sharpened. Overall a fun but make sure you watch it in 3D.
Antim: The Final Truth (2021)
Waste of time and brain space
My mind said don't go for it, but brain was curious. So I went with brain and what a disaster this was. The story, dialogues and scene sequences were pure cringe. The villain can't even act and Selmon is embarrassing as ever. I expected action sequences to atleast give respect to the money I spent but they were lacking substance masked by steroidal fest. Overall just an absurd movie which can be best avoided.
Listen to your mind, not brain.
Eternals (2021)
You can't be serious
The film is absolutely awful. The only way you wouldn't exit the theater early is because of spectacular visuals. The decent star cast did their bit well, but the storyline is just as good as watching a candle burn, bland and pointless. I was excited about its Diwali release, but the crackers here didn't burst at all. But yea, the visuals are good but the directing, storyline was below par.
Sooryavanshi (2021)
Bollywood's finest drivel
You won't have any brain cell left after watching this sham. The dance, action and acting were so cringy that would motivate you to give up completely on Bollywood. With all the controversies surrounding Bollywood of late, people have given up on it, and the Rohit Shetty films don't do any favors. As usual, if you're into brainless cringy action drama, go for it.
It'd be great if Rohit Shetty stops making movies. Thanks!
Mare of Easttown (2021)
The ratings are deceiving for this awful show
I cannot believe how this show is rated so highly when such depressing setting with awful actors and mundane storyline. The direction, cinematography & editing was terrible. This is a proof that ratings don't mean a thing. Always follow your liking and this was just dull as dolphin in a empty pool.
Succession: This Is Not for Tears (2019)
One of the best shows ever
You never get tired of it regardless of all the side plots. The cast is just perfect and they're very like-able. The direction is on point as well and the story just evolves continuously. Definitely that HBO level show.
House of Secrets: The Burari Deaths (2021)
This was certified creepy
I was not sure what to expect because I went in blind as my so said it's something she can't watch. Well this was one of a kind story and many similar stories have happened around India which makes it more eerie, and adds to India's ghost horizon. I'm being neutral here but the truth will never be uncovered regardless how atheists see it.
Dune (2021)
Exceptional
This was one of the best sci-fi's Of the decade which keeps you on the edge all the time. Each character fits their roll perfectly and the screenplay is excellent. It gives you GoT feel but this one is more gripping as it progresses. Can't wait for part 2.
