Very solid thriller

Solid, suspenseful, well acted and directed.

It won't become a classic but definitely a very solid movie. One of the best thrillers of the year.

The pace is very good, not a boring moment.

The more we watch it, the more we see the perfection in the movie.

Ridiculous

3 episodes were enough to see how ridiculously unrealistic this show is.

One of the best movies ever

Wow. There are few words that can describe how good this movie is. Todd Phillips and Joaquin Phoenix deserve my standing ovation. They created such an unique movie, that's at the same time fantastic and terrifying.

Very good episode
8 June 2019
I gotta say that Netflix did a really good job here. It's more than obvious that Netflix has a drive to instill diversity in their cast, but that shouldn't come before acting ability. And they really chose very well the cast. Anthony Mackie is such an underated actor. He really led this episode. I hope to see him in more leading roles. But all the cast was great, not just Anthony. The story was also very good, some minor plot holes, but when we're dealing with future science anything must be believable. All in all a fantastic episode.

Ending almost ruined it
29 May 2019
What a show. Arguably the best ever made. Unfortunately the writers thought they didn't have anything else to gain from it so they gave us what was probably the worst ending in TV history. Contrary to popular opinion, I actually enjoyed season 8. But the last episode is simply appalling. What a shame. But it still was a great show.

Too unrealistic to take seriously
12 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Very entertaining series.

But unfortunately is just too stupid to be able to take seriously.

A dozen of drunken white bikers basically outsmart and outmuscle every single gang, judge, auhority, mafia, international terrorist, local cop, and federal agent that comes in their way.

These are the chozen dozen. The king of kings. It actually should be named the Fantastic Dozen.

The amount of daylight homicides that go unsolved by police must be a record on any given series. Actually, there is no more incompetent police force than the Charming PD and every other agency that sets foot in the city of the Dozen bikers.

It really shows the state of TV and Cinema when this series has a rating of 8.6

With that said, it sure is very entertaining. And every episode will keep you in the edge of your seat.

Last Season Review
20 December 2014
I really don't understand which great mind decided to ruin this show in its last season. So many ridiculous scenes that the mind boggles. Season 7 is a mix of the 80s Chuck Norris movies and the 2000s B action movies.

The plot is ridiculous, embarrassing and an insult to viewers intelligence and the show's history. The only good thing is that the final episode of the season finally arrived and it took the cast out of its misery.

PS: the show has very good first few seasons, so if you haven't watch it, you should do it, just keep in mind that you will find a disaster in the final season.

Safe House (2012)

Below average action flick.
27 February 2012
"Move along people, nothing -new- to see here". This old police saying (with a twist) certainly fits in this movie's review.

The movie starts promising but soon after that you realize that this movie will be nothing new. We've seen it all before.

There are so many plot holes that makes you wonder if they writers gave any credit to the viewers intelligence when they wrote it.

On top of that, the action sequences are nothing to brag about. Plus the shaky camera style doesn't help. There is also a pretty useless romantic subplot that doesn't add anything other than useless minutes to a movie that shouldn't have been more than 80 minutes.

Ryan Reynolds has a pretty good performance, but Denzel Washington's action performances are really getting old and clichéd. Don't get me wrong, he was once a great reliable actor, and still is a great actor, but the amount of average action movies that he has been doing lately makes me wonder if he has some gambling debts to settle.

The rest of the cast seems a bit out of place.

With that said, not all is bad. If you are the action type you will probably be a bit entertained, just don't expect to be blown away.

My 5/10 stars rating suggests that is worth a watch.

No, it's not great.
19 November 2011
I'm a bit disappointed with this show. I was really eager to watch it but it didn't take long until I understood that it wasn't that scary.

The horror tricks are very clichéd and it's more "freaky" than scary. The caracthers are kind of boring and the actors could be doing a better job.

I think that for a horror movie/show to be scary it MUST be at least a bit believable. The viewer must think "this is possible" or "this could happen right here". But the truth is that the story takes a really unbelievable route. There is too much exaggeration and they really cut a lot of the suspense by revealing too much too soon.

I really can't understand how this show can have more than 1 season simply because nobody would be that stupid to stay in that house so long.

With all said, it has its moments and you should at least give it a try because it might be your kind of show. And I think there is some possible room for improvement and the show can still take some good turns within the next episodes.

PS: This show has absolutely nothing to do with kind of style of Paranormal Activity or Saw as some reviewers posted before. It's more within the lines of "Amtyviile Horror" and "A Haunting in Connecticut".

Super 8 (2011)

Truly terrible !
19 June 2011
This is without a doubt, one of the worst movies I ever watched in the cinemas.

After watching the trailer, I thought I was gonna see an intelligent mystery with an intelligent plot.

I was wrong. I was presented with a movie with a ridiculous plot, mediocre actors (more on this later on), and with a story that has been done so many times before. It is basically a movie for teens-kids, but the real problem is that it seems to have been done by...well, kids.

Regarding the actors, I gotta say the young ones did a fairly good job. Ironically, I thought that the worst acting in the movie came from the older actors. The reason I give it 2 stars instead of 1 is because I thought the kids did a fairly good job acting and also because some amazing visuals in one or two scenes.

But what most bothered me is the misguided advertising. This movie tries to advertise has serious thriller-mystery, but in reality is more a semi-adventure mixed with family and sci-fi genres.

If you are looking for a serious movie do yourself a favor and skip it. If you are looking to have some fun with the family and kids maybe it's not that bad of a choice. Just make sure to turn off your "intelligent movie scanner" and turn on your "I know it's gonna be bad, but let's just try to enjoy it for what it is".

Simply AMAZING
22 April 2010
I bought the DVD director's cut but I wasn't expecting much of a movie. I'm not into teen silly superhero movies like fantastic 4 and etc...so I really wasn't expecting much of a movie.

Boy was I wrong. It's a dark superhero movie, with a very interesting story and character development. Maybe you could say that it's Sin City meets Dark Knight.

A lot of people will tell you the movie sucks, but believe me that if you are not expecting your typical lame superhero story you will love it. It's a movie for people who actually want to think while watching the movie, the action scenes are brief but very well made.

It's very unusual for me to like this kind of movie so much but this movie it's already on my top favorites movies list.

If you want a powerful movie, with powerful performances, without the typical good hero catches bad hero movie, watch it and you won't be disappointed. And remember, I don't recommend for people to take children to see this movie, I've only watched the Director's Cut, so I'm not sure about the theatrical version, but the violence was pretty strong and graphic.

I rate it 10 / 10. I will be watching this movie several times over the years.
