Castle: The Limey (2012)
Season 4, Episode 20

Great example of bad casting & ridiculous back story ruin an episode.

Like a lot of the reviews for this episode, I completely agree the casting of an Australian actor as a Brit completely ruins this episode. If it was just the Aussie accent it could've been ok, if they'd changed the episode name to 'The Aussie'. But the character's back story is just so unrealistic. I love Castle, I love it's absurdity, it's silliness, it's tongue-in-cheek attitude, as well as the mystery storylines obviously. But this episode stinks.

The Books are so much better!!

The Books are so much better!! Shetland is gorgeous, without doubt, but the TV versions of the Ann Cleeves books seem to make the whole thing a bit dull some how, as well as changing a lot with regard to the characters (Jimmy Perez has swarthy dark features linking his genes to the Armada; Raven Black is the first in the series & many characters are switched or different). It's really disappointing as I had looked forward to seeing these brought to screen. If you enjoyed the episodes though, do go & try the books (of the same name) as they bring so much more & the descriptions of all the Isles makes you feel you are there in those landscapes & within those communities. The stories themselves are much richer, & in depth.
